Fairmont Ajman

Ajman, Dubai Beaches and beyond

The hotel

Fairmont’s fabulous outpost in Ajman, this luxury beachfront retreat brings all the glamorous décor, gourmet dining, and grand amenities you’d expect from a Fairmont — in a setting you might not expect in the UAE. The next big name in the emirates, Ajman may be 30 minutes from Dubai, but it’s poles apart in its subtlety and serenity. The Fairmont’s arrival to its palm-swept beachline signals Ajman’s ready to compete with its neighbours. A grand getaway, it brings eight restaurants and lounges (taking you from Italy to the Caribbean), an infinity pool fringing a private stretch of sand, and an activity list that covers everyone in the family, from those after spa treatments to those who’d prefer splashing about on a floating off-shore water park (and even little guests who’d prefer making sandcastles at their kids’ club).

A brand like Fairmont has a prestigious name that it should live by yet I feel that this branch does t live up to it. Fairmont Ajman stay was ok as we faced a lot of issues. Booking a 2 bedroom suite doesn’t mean the same. It is a 1 bedroom Suite with a interconnecting room. The interconnecting room provided was also with a twin bed and no option for a king or a queen single bed. For a couple it was difficult. The staff over the phone was not helpful at all in providing a solution for this. I had to go multiple times to the reception to discuss this matter. After my second attempt they helped us in join the beds together. For room service it took up 40 mins to get in touch with them also to place an order. Simple requirements of glass and water also took soo long it was unbelievable. Read less

Booked for a night with family and everything was just okay, The check-in was a bit disappointing, however. The lobbies and restaurants were just okay, with lot of holiday makers for Eid,doesnt smell that good unlike other hotels, when you enter from outside. The rooms were okay,it was fairmont standard room facing half the city and half the arabian gulf sea and there was no balcony, only sealed windows. The position of office table behind the huge mirror wall seemed a bit odd and secluded.I guess,it has something to do with the support structure of the building (reinforced column). The cleanliness was average-we found some long hairs on the chairs, the curtains looked shabby and not ironed. There were stains on the shower hall and a stench from the sewer, obviously,no room refresher there. There was no dividing doors between the main room and the washroom except for the sliding doors of toilet and shower hall.In room service was mediocre, the food served was average with no sides, despite regular 5star pricing. The "free" breakfast was actually full priced for inroom service,so we were disappointed. The AC was cold throughout the night, despite being turned off,so sleep wasnt that great.Overall I would give just 4star despite the hotel being rated 5star.Location was good, beside the beach and we had a great sunset session that evening.
