The week end was a treat for our wedding anniversary and the birthday of my sister in law.. The minutes we arrived we have been warmly taking care and the check in was seamless. The environment and location make you feel that you are somewhere else. We had a lagoon access room and it was a blast having privacy at all time. The facilities are amazing with a large main pool too with sweet treat during sun bathing between fruits and ice lollies. The outlets and quality of food were brilliant at the Beach House and the amazing Mekong. Breakfast was great with nice variety of dishes . We did enjoy the chana masala for morning!.The entire team was fantastic and made our experience memorable. We will definetely be back to the gem of Palm Jumeira! Read less

Sadly we had the worst experience from start to finish. I’ve stayed in many Anantara’s and this one is just not up to their standards at all. Starting with the check in, the representative we were assigned to after a short wait was Soum. He was extremely rude and unwelcoming. We had booked a package on the website which had a 150aed resort credit which he argued was not valid. It took another 30 minutes for him to check and approve it. We called the hotel ahead of time to request early check in which they said was no problem so we arrived at 2pm. We were told there were no rooms available until the 3pm check in time and he would call us as soon as our room was ready. We went to Lotus Lounge to wait - great service there. No call from Soum and we finally got to our room at 3:45. The room was disheveled and dirty, beds not made properly, 3 twin beds in the room (we had requested 2 doubles), a table turned on it’s side, stained curtains, and the lifeguard was directly across from our window looking in. We called the manager to sort it out and he said this wasn’t the room we booked but they just wanted to give us something quickly. Not acceptable! He offered to move us to a villa instead. While we were waiting over an hour to be moved, another lifeguard jumped in the pool, playing around and doing push ups on the side. He then got out of the pool and went around the side where he apparently thought no one could see him, stripped naked and wrung out his clothes! It was literally facing our room. This is completely unprofessional and disgusting behavior by Anantara staff. We called the manager again and his flippant response was “maybe he was saving a life”! I offered to show him photos of the incident but he never followed up. The villa was much larger with stairs to the sea but it was run down with chipping paint and stairs were so rocky we both cut our feet walking down. The water is so hot this time of year it was not enjoyable and there were jellyfish in the water. We had originally booked lagoon access because we wanted to be closer to the pool but from the villa it was a longer walk. As we were there for my birthday my friend had requested something nice in the room to celebrate which didn’t happen until she called several times. The only saving grace was the pool was refreshing and not crowded once we got there and the restaurant service and food was good. Not enough buggies to take you back and forth though and a long walk to get there. Overall a very disappointing stay and would not be going back. There are many top notch hotels in Dubai which are much better. I am not a complainer and not difficult to please but this experience couldn’t go unnoticed. Read less

I stayed in Anantara for a week with my husband and two children and would love to return when next visiting the UAE. The hotel is beautifully furnished with luxurious rooms, pool and private beach. The staff were some of the friendliest and most accommodating I've experienced in any hotel previously. A special mention to the poolside waiters who worked tirelessly in the hot weather. Nice touches such as ice cold towels and complimentary ice lollies and fruit kebabs went down well whilst sunbathing! A final special mention to Exe Chef Maurice who ensured our culinary experience was second to none. Many thanks, Esther Read less

Tiny glasses and no or very little alcohol. Probably the worst 5 star hotel I have been to. Mekong Restaurant very good. Pricey but very good indeed. I wont be going back to the hotel. Read less

“Upgraded” to a weird apartment even though I booked the hotel. Pool was absolutely heaving with drunks as was a weekend. No sun beds available for guests - just went back to my apartment and watched tv.
