This was our 3rd stay at the Anantara. As always the staff went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect, nothing was too much trouble. Checking in was easy and very quick, we had an over night flight and were tired when we arrived but the staff made sure our room was ready before midday. We had a lagoon access room which was very clean and spacious, it even had a coffee machine in. All the restaurants are amazing, our favourite place to have a drink was the beach house and our favourite place to eat was everywhere. The quality of the food was amazing, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. During the day we spent a lot of time around the lagoon, the lifeguards were friendly and chatty and the pool was very clean, there is even a little cocktail boat that comes round in the afternoon to serve you cocktails and beer whilst in the lagoon. The concierge staff are reslly helpful if you need information about places to visit and things to do. And they can always organise a hotel taxi for you at short notice so you can get places quickly and comfortably. Everyone at the resort is so friendly from the cleaning staff to the management and that is what makes it feel special. Overall our stay at the Anantara was perfect and we will be returning again soon. Read less

I’d never been to Dubai before and I knew it was going to be expensive, but OMG!! A tuna sandwich, cheese pesto panini with 2 cokes and a bottle of beer was £65 which I’m sorry but is frankly ridiculous!! The cheapest wine was about £14 a glass and a beer was £10, which curbed our alcohol intake which I will admit is no bad thing. If you want a out of the way location then this is great, but be warned there are NO bars, cafes or anything nearby other than other very expensive hotels, so if you want a stroll out for lunch or a drink think again. It costs about £15 for a taxi into the city where the food is much cheaper but no alcohol is served. The staff are very friendly and helpful but the buffet restaurant was very under staffed, we waited a long time for plates to be cleared and drinks to be bought to us, but the food quality is very good and there is a good variety. We were half board so the buffet was included and we could eat in the a la carte restaurants but some of the dishes you had to pay extra for; there was more than enough to choose from though that was included. The room was clean and spacious but the air con wasn’t great and we were warm most nights. I know this is a family hotel but if your a couple with no kids then be warned!! There were a lot of kids and they were literally running riot especially in the buffet restaurant; the hotel would really benefit from an adult only section. We struggled for the 1st few days (we were there for 6) to get a bed round the pool especially with an umbrella and this was because the beach was closed due to refurbishment, as soon as it reopened there were loads of beds. The beach towels are great, nice and big and you can have as many as you want. Overall it’s a nice hotel but I won’t be rushing back but then I don’t think I’ll rush back to Dubai. Read less
