We recently returned staying at the new JA Lake hotel (sister hotel) on Ultra AI and visited the Palm Tree to eat at the White Orchid restaurant - part of the dine around option on Ultra AI. We both were very disappointed how the menu choice had been reduced by over 50%, the draught larger was now only one choice (originally 3) and several branded spirits missing from the AI package. The following day we decided to go for lunch at Anchor - again the menu had been reduced by over 50% with 'basic' food options. For the remaining stay we ate and drank at the JA Lake resort, which clearly has a higher standard of food and branded alcohol choice. If you've stayed here before the changes, JA Lake resort is the better option at the same price. Read less

We have a fantastic week in JA Palm Tree hotel, the place is but outside the city in the JA resort, which makes it an ideal family vacation. Lots of space. We stayed on BB in residence which was a perfect set up for us. Allowed us to try new restaurant every day and the signature restaurants worked out to be much cheaper and much tastier than buffet restaurants - usually heavily occupied by the All-In guests. Rooms were huge and perfect for 4 of us. Kids 4 & 6 had a fantastic time at the beach or swimming in the pools, the lounge and extra help for Murat and John - butlers in the signature lounge was at the highest level. Special thanks to Murat, who was 1st to greet us and last to say Goodbye - an employee like him is a gem to this hotel. I just hope he gets enough sleep time. I am very happy we stayed in the JA resort, we enjoyed the local cuisine in Phoenicia twice, which turned out to be our kids favourite too, big thanks to Phoenicia's staff and chef Mohamad for their help and energy accommodating our kids, offering them dishes beyond reg kids stuff. The hotel definitely has the right people there. Our room was left spotless clean every day and the whole JA Palm tree resort felt like a big garden. Thank you for very memorable vacation Read less

There is much to do here at the hotels sport center ( table tennis, badminton, squash, gym, tennis, minigolf and golf) so the days was always filled with something new to do if the tranquility by the various pools wasn't enough. We’ve been visiting the JA Palm Tree Court for the last 15 years, spending the last 4 Christmas holidays here as now Dubai residents. We recommended the resort to our friends who flew over making us a party of 9. On arrival we were welcomed by the lovely Menchie who cannot do enough for you, she made sure our rooms were ready and explained the New Ultra All Inclusive to us, the 11pm curfew on drinks I’m glad to say was lifted over the holiday season. Sadly there was no Ginger Bread House in reception, Christmas is about the children and my daughter was so looking forward to it a huge disappointment not to see. No welcome drinks on arrival little things which give the hotel it’s star appeal. The accommodation and staff are the highlight of this hotel. Dev and Martin on the beach are exceptional. Raj in La Fontana has to be the most hardworking member of staff ever with the biggest smile and goes out of his way to always please. Ok yes there have been cost cutting exercises which as a regular guest was very frustrating but on the flip side huge credit for all the new amazing restaurants, facilities and hotel. But you cannot operate a cost cutting exercise which causes confusion to the staff, it’s not the staff letting the hotel down it’s the management letting them down. A clear system the ultra all inclusive should be one type of drink is available in all outlets. Which then doesn’t aggravate customers when things change everywhere you go. Simple little things have changed that don’t need to and cause frustration in regular guests. Getting rid of La Traviata the family friendly Italian was a sad loss the new Sette had no children’s menu and wasn’t family friendly! Our stay though I have to say was fabulous, the staff really do make this hotel and each and every one of them is a credit to the brand would be nice to bring back their name badges though so you can greet them personally and recall great service with ease. The new Indian Kinara was outstanding we were recommended a tasting style menu by the head waiter (his name escapes me) he was so knowledgeable and made sure we had the best evening. Shooters still a huge hit with some of the best steaks. Overall Jebel Ali Palm Tree Court is our go to hotel in Dubai an Oasis of calm in a stunning location with the best staff in Dubai. Read less

This is our 7th visit to jebel Ali, on previous visits we have enjoyed our family holidays very much. This time we stayed for 8 nights including NYE. We paid extra for ultra all inclusive which Is a new package, before there was was just one level of A.I. So now A.I. finished at 11pm Not all drinks are included, no baileys , no tia Maria, not all beers , not all wines, some bars / restaurants have some drinks included but they are not included in another, it’s as if the staff are not sure what is included or they are making it up as they go along. There are some new bars but only over 21’s aloud inside , if you have any children you have to sit outside and it’s cold and damp in December/January, the entertainment is inside but most customers have to sit outside. The buffet breakfast now has self service tea and coffee, this is difficult to walk across a busy restaurant balancing a cup, saucer and a hot, full tea pot, accident waiting to happen. There is less choice at lunch time in the captains bar and overall not as good, shame as it was always a lunch time favourite. Basically I feel we are being charged an awful lot more money and receiving an awful lot less in return. This years price was massively inflated compared to previous years, I wouldn’t mind this if I was receiving the same sort of package but it’s nowhere near as good as it was. This is a shame as the new hotel, facilities and restaurants all look good and the staff are hard working, friendly and helpful, just some bad decisions made by the management, lots of other customers were complaining about the same issues, I think they will receive many complaints. We personally will be looking for somewhere else to spend holidays. Read less
