We travelled to Dubai for a family holiday in December 2019. Unfortunately it did not turn out to be the best holiday for us. Our daughter became very unwell (on the flight) and we literally spent 90% of our holiday in our hotel room. On our first morning, we were woken by drilling and banging and were told that there had been a pipe leak on another floor which was being fixed. As our daughter was unwell after the flight, we needed peace for her to rest. After making a second call we were moved to another room for the remainder of our stay. We were really grateful for the team as they realised our needs and moved us to a larger room. Unfortunately for this stay, i can't rate many of the amenities in the hotel. However the staff are so caring and thoughtful and would often send my daugter teddy bears to the room. There is an onsite dr's who made regular phonecalls to see how my daughter was doing. We never got to experience many aspects of the hotel but i would say it is great for both families and if you're looking for a chilled party vibe. Thank you to the staff for looking after us during our stay Read less

We booked a club room and got club access, which was very nice and again the service from the staff in there was brilliant. They are all very friendly and pleasant. Can’t say a bad word about this place. Got a great summer deal the price was very reasonable. All staff were very precautious wearing masks, visors and gloves at all times. Always sanitising and cleaning tables. Around the pool, the guys were also cleaning and sanitising the sun loungers and tables when people left. Towels were bagged also. There was plenty of masks and hand sanitiser everywhere around the hotel including the lifts and you get your temperature taken upon arrival and entry into any restaurant too. Our room was lovely and clean in fact the whole hotel was clean through and through. Yes I would go back tomorrow and yes I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. It’s in a great location and there’s a supermarket and chemist across from the hotel with some small restaurants and very close to JBR where there are lots of other hotels and bars, restaurants and fast food places. I have stayed at LRM for many years now, as have a number of families I have encountered here. The reason, as many of my family and friends ask is because there is nothing to fault. The location is perfect, the resort & beach is so peaceful, the staff are so amazing, they will always go above and beyond for you. This is something I am most appreciative of, its so comforting to know you will always be in good hands. The suites are everything you can ask for, the beds and pillows are most comforting. So many restaurants in house, some of the top ones in Dubai are housed either here or at Grosvenor House (their sister hotel a couple minutes walk) The facilities are all on point. Transport is great, taxis in abundance, the hotel operate a regular shuttle service to the malls. Walking distance from the Marina and JBR walk where you can find shops and a Roxy cinema (look them up). Literally everything about this place is perfect in so many ways. I can go on forever why I always choose to return but it is something you should experience for yourself. A very special thank you to Zeenet, Harish, Eddy, Melanie, Angela and so many others, from the porters to the beach staff at LRM, all who have been most hospitable. Cannot wait to return and recharge! Read less

My apologies for quoting Dickens above but this review covers 2 trips: November 2019 and March 2020. All will become clear, and it's a good read! The November trip was almost routine. It was fabulous - well looked after a delay with Emirates, Natasha had put us some sandwiches and a bottle of wine in our room to make sure we had something to eat followng our late arrival, much appreciated! The holiday went much as planned apart from some cloud seeded rain courtesy of the Sheikh, and we ate well in Geales, thanks Stefan, love the duck and the Fish Market; in La Strega, thanks Gabrielle (especially for the chocolate brownie from the room service menu!); at Sloanes Sea Food Buffet, always a treat; at Rhodes 2010 in LRM although RIP Gary who will be sorely missed; again at Rhodes W1 in GH and at Brasserie, especially the Sunday roasts! Thanks to Mary and Rachel, as always, for sorting out our restaurant bookings (and changes!). Pool staff Saram et al were attentive, and room staff as well as reception truly looked after us. Many thanks to all. None of us were to know what was to come....... In March 2020 we came with the threat of the Coronavirus in the air. When we arrived there was no sign of what was just round the corner. We were too late for Brasserie and went straight to bed on arrival. Next day we settled quickly into our routine of sunbathing, enjoying the ambience and eating well in the evening - many thanks to all as above although we only got to eat at Geales once, Gabrielle looked after us well at La Strega, including the Chocolate brownie off the Room Service menu again! We ate well in Rhodes 2010 twice and RhodesW1 at GH once. Ithink the menu at R2010 is more to our liking at the moment, but things change, as we were about to find out! Almost overnight the Dubai Municipality issued orders for bars, including bars within restaurants, to close, shortly after followed by an order for restaurants to limit their clientele and observe 'social distancing'. Geales closed. We ate at La Strega and elsewhere. Then Brasserie went to a la carte only at breakfast - this was to prove a challenge, from busy buffet to a la carte, but the staff rose to the challenge magnificently! We did wonder how on earth they would cope, but the staff did more than cope, they were superb, especially SALMAN who was truly head and shoulders above everyone, taking orders and advising guests what was now available, and making sure it came! 'Don't worry' he said, 'I know the entire buffet menu!' he announced on day one of the change - and he did too! He served us many times and also guided other staff. The managers stepped up too, Mr Paul in particular, who ensured that our a la carte Brasserie experience at Sunday Roast went well, and it did! Thanks you all for your hard work in turning Brasserie from such a busy buffet into a great a la carte experience, you did so well in such trying circumstances, it was impressive. Meanwhile Natasha kept us informed of changes, although communications from the hotel itself tended to lag behind the edicts of the Dubai municipality. We began to notice changes around the pool - reductions in loungers and distancing. Suddenly late afternoon, all the loungers from the lower pool were removed with no notice and no information. On enquiring we were reassured that 'No. the pool was not closing.' It was. Abbas could have done the rounds and told everyone, but he was otherwise occupied stacking loungers. Priorities. Next day the grass area was similarly cleared, as was the beach area, leaving only the main pool and lane pool with any loungers at all! Guests by now had begun to leave, and few new ones were arriving. We began to look towards an early departure ourselves as international airspace closed down!! On the Monday, Brasserie re-located to the Indian restaurant at breakfast and, despite this change, the staff again made the best of it and worked hard to ensure a good service. Again, they rose to the occasion and delivered with a smile! After breakfast we became aware of some 'dignitaries' about the hotel and grounds and suddenly, as we were about to head to the remaining lane pool, the loungers were cleared and we were told we could only walk around the grounds. Dubai Municipality had arrived to inspect, and ordered all loungers to be removed, so guests were effectively put into quarantine. We were only allowed to move around the grounds, not sit or lie on the grass even, which seemed a bit unnecessary. This has been enacted internationally since, so although we complained at the time, we wandered the grounds like lost souls and then packed ready to leave the next day. By now the hotel had scaled back to Room Service only, so we ate in our room that night and breakfast next moring before our departure. I have to thank and congratulate the hotel in adapting to the changes imposed by the municipality at very short notice, in such a smooth and organised manner. Guests were put to as little inconvenience as possible. Staff were as helpful and friendly as ever, although they must have been worried about their own families and loved ones themselves especially those from distant countries. Our hearts and support went out to them and still do - stay safe! If at all possible, we will be back later in the year to our favourite destination, which, in some ways, will have learned and developed from the experience, as have we all! Read less
