Because of all the uncertainty of the current situation in travel we decided to extend our short break to LRM, from 14 February until 1 March, and just chill instead of our intended South East Asia travels. We have been coming here since 2005 and love all the changes made over the years to the hotel. The staff are still so professional and friendly. I did like the traditional Arabian decor of the hotel but the new modern look is growing on me. Once again the food in Zengo was delicious as was Indya. We had a wonderful evening in Buddha Bar to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. I’d like to thank Pam and her team for helping us enjoy this occasion with thoughtful gifts in our room. We are always thrilled at how appreciated we feel at the hotel. Dann and Roy went above and beyond to look after us at our Guest Reception. It was so nice to see them as we both remember when they first came to the hotel. Many, many things have changed but the professionalism and values have not. When all this madness is over we look forward to returning. Margaret and John Devlin Read less

We had booked to travel to Dubai to meet up with friends at Le Royal Meridien as we often do in March - only this year was different. The first few days were as fantastic as ever but, as Corona virus took it's grip on the world things soon began to close down - but this hotel gave the impression that everything was under control - and I have no doubt that it was!! - and that guest experience was still top priority. The hotel has undergone massive refurbishment in the last few years and is better than ever. Choice of restaurants and food is amazing and service first class. I have never, in the 20-25 (we have lost count!!) times we have visited this hotel experienced ANY of the negativity expressed in some TripAdvisor reviews. The hotel and it's staff were under extreme pressure during this visit yet we were always met with smiles, helpfulness, professionalism and politeness. As our week progressed Government rules were changing by the day/hour and dictated that bars should close but service to table/sunbeds continued. Guest numbers dwindled as, by this time, few new guests were arriving and it made perfect sense that some of the restaurants should close too but for those that remained open it was business as usual. Even the self service Brasserie changed to menu/table service in line with rules in an attempt to slow down the spread of the virus. "Social distancing" was adhered to with sunbeds being spaced and grouped in twos as were tables in restaurants and the Club Lounge. By the time we were due to come home there were very few guests left in the hotel but the service had not diminished in the slightest. And, as if they didn’t have enough to cope with, on our last night a massive thunderstorm hit and there was flooding in parts of the hotel and particularly the lift shaft!! But, as always we were met with a smile and treated with courtesy as we were escorted up the service stairs, ensuring our safety, to our rooms - on the 12th floor!!! I am writing all this because I want to express my admiration for this fabulous hotel and it's wonderful staff. Miss Pam Wilby - they are a credit to you each and every one of them. From the cleaning staff who had to step-up the cleaning and re-cleaning of the public toilet areas to the waiting staff and management who still put guest enjoyment and safety at the forefront at what must be a very difficult and uncertain time for the hotel industry. I am unsure how things are right now at Le Royal Meridien but my thoughts are with you all and, rest assured, when all this is over, we WILL be back and hopefully for many, many more years to come. There is no other hotel in Dubai we'd rather be..... Bless you all. Read less

The tower has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and the new club lounge is very spacious and bright. The location of this hotel is great as you can go for a walk to JBR or the marina. The gardens are beautiful and it is located on the beach. Can’t wait to go back next year. Read less

This was our second visit to Royal Meridien and it won't be our last. As good as we remembered and if possible, the staff went above and beyond to make it even better. Our visit was right when there was tremendous upheaval with the Coronavirus, but as the world was shutting down rapidly, the staff did nothing but protect us. The cleanliness and the way they effortlessly coped with such an unprecendented situation was remarkable. Some special mentions: Nester, front of house, who went above and beyond to ensure that my laptop was connected to the hotel internet and is a credit to the hotel. A very lovely young man who always had a welcome for us. Anthony, outside the hotel. What a great first impression he makes and ensures everybody arriving or leaving feels special. We remember him from two years ago and he is a joy. In the restaurant - John. Shamu and Paul were as good as two years ago :) They made us feel special and valued in very difficult circumstances for the hotel. The welcome they extended will ensure we are there again as soon as the world situation allows. Joseph on the lower beach is lovely and in fact all the staff there play their part in making sure our day is as good as it can be. Negatives? As always Zero Gravity is a pain for noise from midday onwards. We are thankful that all bars and nightclubs got closed down! As for the hotel - no negatives. It is a joy to be there inside their very special bubble. Read less
