The hotel's excellent Jumeirah Beach location means that plenty of water sports are on offer including kayaking and water-skiing. If you fancy a bit of pampering, you can unwind at the hotel's Talise Spa featuring a range of treatments including; massages and aromatherapy. The more active among you will enjoy the vertical challenge as you scale the 6 metre climbing wall, or how about a game of tennis or squash? If you are looking for a destination that offers more than just a place to exercise, then Talise Fitness is perfect for you. The complimentary Kids' Club also provides a huge range of fun and fully supervised activities for children of all ages including face painting and mask making. I recently visited on my bachelors trip with my friends. As young guys walking into a very pricey hotel I felt we weren't taken seriously (maybe its just their attitude) but nevertheless, we have all travelled to many destinations and stayed in 5 star so we knew what to expect. The receptionist was quite corky and when I requested a smoking room he says "sorry there are no smoking rooms" so I understood, went up to my room and found it quite small. So between my friend and I, we decided we will pay for a bigger room if we have to but this was way too small. So we went down and specifically chose a less corky receptionist to request a paid upgrade. At this point I mentioned that your colleague had mentioned that there are no smoking rooms and immediately, he said no there are! and provided me with a smoking room. So why was the first guy prejudice against me? I enjoyed my stay quite alot though that after my bachelors I was booking my honeymoon. (About a month later) I booked jumeirah beach again, amongst 5 other 5 star destinations amongst- MAXX ROYAL BELEK, THE PALACE DOWNTOWN DUBAI, THE MARMARA TAKSIM, JBR ETC. On honeymoon, the treatment from most of the hotels was 7 star! Except for our friends over at the Jumeirah beach hotel who think they cr*p Hagen Dasz. Firstly as you enter you'll be confronted by a massive dude, named Frank. Now, everyone seems to be frank's enemy, so whether you are a guest or an employee, stay out of Franks way! Also don't bother buying a shisha souvenir in dubai if you plan on staying here. They confiscate it from your bag and also refuse to give it back on the night of checkout so you can pack your bags they wait till you check out to return it. THERE IS NO WRITTEN POLICY CLAIMING THEY WILL CONFISCATE YOUR BELONGINGS, AND ALSO THEY PUT THE BLAME ON THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SO WHEN I ASKED FOR DOCUMENTATION PROVING SUCH THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE NONE- confirmed by Mr Juniel Pedro. I've stayed in maybe 10 5-star hotels in dubai and not one have confiscated my stuff, they just will say "don't use it please" And they serve shisha in the Jumeirah Beach Hotel soooo?? not adding up. Anyway! Honeymoon. I go to the reception, check in and bear in mind, we sent 2-3 emails saying that we will be coming on our honeymoon and their response was thanking us and asking what time we would be arriving. So, they got the message. Mr Ihab, the receptionists asks "any special occasion sir?" I say yes, as per my email, it is my honeymoon. And he says great! Your room has a nice view. I was keen.Without thinking immediately, I requested a smoking room. Again I am told "there are no smoking rooms sir." I know that they are, but thinking that they may have done up my room as did the other 4 hotels (Spectacularly I might add- Maxx Royal!) I said it's fine went on. He then tells me "its a very nice room for honeymoon." Here's the funny part. I get to the room...... honeymoon..... room.... 2 SINGLE BEDS. That's correct. Not a petal on the ground or an openable window in sight. Forget standard room, or honeymoon suite upgrade, this was the lowest end! I called and thought it was a joke, but sadly it wasn't. I told them to please keep their idea of a honeymoon room, shove it deep up and I'll be checking out. Immediately at this point I received an upgrade! to a SMOKING ROOM of which "don't exist" but are now available again... Ice to be sent up to the room takes 45 minutes. Yes, just ICE. Towels, if you call twice it took 30 minutes and a beach bag... I'm still waiting, after 2 calls. You guys are honestly a joke. There's construction everywhere 24 hours a day so everyone is too tired to even complain about anything but maybe this is a wake up call. I have reservations for christmas but I am most definitely cancelling. What a hotel, with a breathtaking view and a breakfast which you will eat, take a break and go back to eating. It's such a shame that service and special occasions for your guests, just aren't that special to you. Read less
