This is a lovely hotel, as long as you can accept that everything is going to be rather expensive. Check in was a bit haphazard. This is a lovely hotel, as long as you can accept that everything is going to be rather expensive. Check in was a bit haphazard. We were told that someone would text when our rooms were ready and no one did, but the rooms were enormous, always clean and well stocked. The breakfast buffet is good (not as good as Atlantis in Dubai), although the dinner buffet is a bit repetitive after a few days. We had half board. If you want to eat in any of the other restaurants, you get 120 AED credit which doesn’t go a long way. We ate at the Lexington Grill and Umi which were both excellent. As good as London restaurants, but over 1,000 AED for each (and that’s after the HB credit). The Buddha Bar restaurant was pretty rubbish in all honesty. Pity about the weather (I understand that the UAE authorities had been cloud seeding), but the pools were warm and the beach was lovely and well catered. Al Hamra golf course is over the road and Al Hamra Mall is a 10 minute walk for provisions (i.e., don’t pay 27 AED for a coke in the hotel). Read less

When asking for coffee at breakfast to take to the room the staff insisted that they must charge for the coffee. That is greedy and inappropriate. When asking for 3 empty glasses to take to the beach the staff wanted to charge us a fee for having our own wine. Again, greedy and inappropriate. When ordering a taxi after 30 minute wait and incompetent replies I ordered the taxi myself. The concierge seemed to be not able to provide that service. The hotel rooms are very spacious and the facilities are ok. Not the standard one would expect from a hotel of this league but still ok. Read less

Our room (deluxe sea view family) was stunning; right on the top floor with amazing views of the Arabian gulf with the most impressive balcony. Thank you so much for satisfying our request for a great sea view, we certainly got this and more! The family pool area was fabulous for our children (depth was perfect) and no silly reserving of sun beds early doors that you get in some resorts, even though we were there during the busy Easter school holiday period. I would’ve loved to have spent a day by the adult pool as well- it is something else (if you come without kids you are in for an extra special treat!). The food at the buffet was outstanding- choice and quality could not be faulted and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. The only areas of improvement I can suggest are around service- poolside service was patchy and also in Al Qaser lots of staff but not always on point. Thank you again; we will be back! Read less

I don't know whether there is a need to write the review of our stay in December of 2018, but it was a disaster. And Mister Stocker perfectly knows about that... As I have written all that in the inquirer... Nevertheless I was totally neglected. Being for 5 years a standing customer I got that what one may call a slap to a face and a great disrespect to a customer. As if I have the reputation of some capricious guest that ruins everything. As you may see in my reviews, I was always grateful for all. I will not mention in details about the poisoning of my mother in the hotel. Although I insist that it was after having a meal in the main restaurant. Good lord, no-one has asked for special perks or compensations because of this situation. I was simply asking for help and good treatment. That's it. But the staff decided to make my family kind of the enemy of the humanity. At the same time, I didn't receive a report that I was promised to have after all the analyses that had to be done in Dubai. Again total ignorance. Guys what are you thinking to yourself there? Due to the "great service" and "doing the best", we were moved out from the room at the day of check-out to another room, and so I forgot my jewellery and medicine. I asked kindly to send them back, well... I was again answered that the hotel "does its best" but can't send me my things back ( as for medicine, I can stand that, but what about my personal things? They are found and I got the pictures of them, the same as the answer that there is no solution to send them me back. That is something extraordinary. I do not recommend anyone to come here again. Everything is devastated, good attitude. good relations. Everything. I would be grateful if you don't write the hypocritical answer concerning your Looking forward to welcome us back. Last and this year I had survived two losses in my family, so I have no wish to spend my time on personal letters and absent answers. Just give back what is not yours. I hope no revenge has place here, ( I can't understand what it could be for, but still, there must be a reason... of such an attitude, that I would call unwillingly -the gradual loss of incompetence that was never a mark of the hotel.
