It was the first time I visited Ras Al Khaimah and this mini weekend vacation will be unforgettable because not only did I relax in this peaceful environment but I enjoyed also a perfect party night for the opening of Siddhartha lounge beach bar restaurant. The Waldorf Astoria in Ras Al Khaimah has perfectly balanced the traditional arabic architecture that takes you back in time with all the modern comforts such as super fast wifi, lots of restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, a luxurious spa and the best thing? Our friends left their two kids play in the kids club which is as big as a nursery and there are very nice ladies taking care of the little ones while we enjoyed 3 hours in the sun-beds surrounded by palm trees under a clear blue sky. One thing we also liked is talking long walks to the resort which is very big and has a big space with grass for the golf court. Read less

Waldorf Astoria Hilton Hotel Our British Airways flights gave us free transfer to and back from this hotel. It was very straightforward spotting a man with our name on a board at Dubai Airport arrivals, and he whisked us off to his taxi. It was about a one hour 40 mile, mostly motorway drive to the hotel. We arrived around 01:00 in the morning at the hotel and the reception soon had us booked in and shown to our room. Our luggage arrived in the room very soon after we walked into our room, which was nice. We had a very nice side sea view room in the tower which was very quiet. The pool was very large with shady areas where you can rest out of the sun, also there is a swim up bar. There was always plenty of sun beds available, either around the pool or on the beach. Most of the beach staff gave an excellent service and they could not be faulted in any way. The manager there deserves a job very well-done mention. So does the concierge man, an excellent and very helpful person. Almost all staff we encountered were happy, smiling, said hello and were keen to help. The food in the HB main buffet restaurant was very enjoyable and there was always something different we could eat each day. In fact, the food was so nice there that we did not try any of the other restaurants. There was light entertainment in the hotel during the evening of a pianist. Twice a week there is a free bus to The Dubai Mall. If you dare bare a 15 minute walk in the heat, there is a small shopping mall opposite the hotel on the other side of the golf course. There are several eateries and coffee shops there. Once you get there it is nice as it is all air conditioned. This is a very nice quiet hotel to relax in and to get away from it all. Read less

We stayed here as a couple for two nights, in a junior sweet. Everything was mostly fine but on the first day, I noted that there were no tissues or a towel / soap near the beday and assumed it was just cutbacks but on the second day, they were all in place and a flower had been added to the vase in the bathroom, which revealed to me that the room wasn’t made up properly on the first day. On the first day we used two of the coffee pods, which weren’t replenished on the second day. Most annoying was spending sometime carefully ordering a room service Indian meal dairy free (as my wife has an allergy) and after waiting an hour, the food turned up with cream drizzled over one dish and on closer scrutiny, we found out that all the dishes had dairy in them (not sure what was missed during the long conversation confirming everything while ordering). The kitchen fixed the issue and we were not charged for the meal but it was very annoying. On leaving, we called for our bags to be collected, only to be called back 20 minutes later as someone had missed the message for some reason. I realize most of the about are not so serious and we would stay here again, it’s a nice place but the above does stop me from giving 5/5. Read less
