We will be back though after some renovations are done. Read less

He sat us down at a very chill table the atmosphere made me feel like im the only one that matters! It is nice to feel important and people care especially if following all of this treatment im gonna eat!! So, just a heads up, the menu is weird! Like good weird!! A mushroom in falafel? Yes its there hummus with (chili, mint, blackberries???)?!! Like what?? Reading this in menu made me hungrier and excited to order and to see whats there for dessert!! I ate the yummiest Arayes ever so arayes is basically stuffed arabic bread or if you wanna call it pita bread with minced beef and some tomatoes but the twist in Marjan is mozzarella cheese.. yes imagine the cheese pull!!! The hummus with blackberry was my favorite, you taste the regular hummus then you get this sweetness of blackberries!! My goodness I couldn’t stop myself!! Then Chef Mounier graced us with his presence, and wished me a happy birthday and i got a compliment dessert which is Qatayef it sort of like an empanada shape with a different dough and some fillings. We had the mango and walnut filling its sooo good and it comes with camel milk ice cream mixed with baklava.. dont ask just try it!! Ill dieee everything is sooo good Read less

I'll start by saying that the service was absolutely exceptional at the hotel and far beyond the expected standards of a 5* hotel. The major problem we had was initially with the booking. We booked in August for the December stay, received a phone call early November asking if we were willing to move to the palm Dubai for our booking. That wasn't what we wanted and we politely declined. Later on in November, 3 weeks before the stay we were informed that we were unable to stay and that 'all restaurants, the beach, pool and facilities would be unavailable during the stay' and that 'we're saying that you cannot stay with us'. Needless to say I was slightly annoyed and asked her to call me back in an hour. We were offered a board and double room upgrade on other dates for our inconvenience, but I had to suggest other dates, that fortunately we were available for. Not brilliant customer service and a very good compromise but could have been delivered in far better way and was not the start I wanted to a family holiday that we'd been looking forward to for months. It turned out that a couple had booked the entire hotel for a pre-wedding get together and they were obviously a better option than the other guests who had booked. Who knows how many people they had to move in order to accommodate the whole hotel being booked out. The food quality is superb, and room quality is excellent. Inconsistent house keeping, I.e. came some days but not others, and only came once for turn down, but didn't detract from the overall experience. Would come back again for definite but would keep 3 days either side of the booking just in case. Read less

We got a nice upgrade upon check-in to a junior suite with ocean view, overlooking their amazing beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and in particular Mr. Khalaf who served us during the breakfast. Lots of facilities such as sauna, Turkish bath, great gym and heated outside pools. Great variety of restaurants and play areas for children. This is defiantly a resort per say and as a family resort I would give them 5 stars as the resort caters more to longer stays with focus on families. For a couples retreat I would most likely try one of the other hotels in the area to have some more privacy. If your a family going for a week or more then I think you would appreciate this hotel with all its facilities and being situated right on the beach. Read less

We spent a few days at this huge and fabulously opulent hotel. Pros: - The hotel has a commanding location, on a vast stretch of beach. The lobby area is stunning, which was enhanced with a wonderful Christmas tree when we were there in December. - The staff throughout provided an excellent service. - Our upgraded room overlooked the golf course (not recommended) rather than the sea. It was large and in keeping with the opulence throughout the rest of the hotel. Aperitifs were delivered to the room and there was a good turndown service/room refresh every evening. One small niggle was the lack of USB charging sockets (e.g. bedside). - Buffet breakfast was very good, with a large array of dishes including some usual items (e.g. freshly made naan bread, jelly babies!). Additionally, there were some very good dining choices at the hotel, albeit a bit pricey. The UMI and Lexington Grill were the standouts for us. - The gym and SPA were very good. There’s a separate gym area for women too. Cons: - Although this is effectively a beach hotel, the beach is very deep and the sea is a long, long way from the hotel. As a result, the seashore is virtually empty, with the majority of people lounging either by the swimming pools or on the vast beach some way up from the shoreline. - The adult pool is a good size lap pool but with only a very limited number of cabanas surrounding it (which cost extra). There are no loungers around this pool, these are located beachside but adjacent to the pool. For such an opulent hotel, we were expecting something even larger and more stylish, with a lot more loungers around it. It’s also not entirely peaceful, as this is effectively the Siddharta Lounge which plays quite loud music throughout the day. The alternative is the large freeform family pool…but this gets even noisier with children playing. - The number of bars available was limited to just the Peacock Alley and the Siddharta Lounge by the pool. The other bars at the hotel were closed for various reasons. Read less
