Great family stay at this hotel, staff went out of their way to assist. Few things to point out, we initially changed rooms as our room smelt of damp, I do believe the hotel should make use of Arabian Oud burner to keep the hotel smelling good. I would say if your stay depends primarily on having great kids club facilities, then maybe look else where. I found the facilities of poor standards and I wasn’t very impressed with the staff. One nursery staff in particular ruined the experience for me and I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving my child there, she had a lot of attitude and had an un-necessary barrier up the whole time. I am not sure childcare if the best job for her. We tried Umi and the Arabic restaurant and both were amazing. However for the Arabic restaurant I was advised the food was Lebanese inspired, however the chef advised Syrian inspired. I think staff need to understand what they are selling. Another point to note, in such a reputable hotel I would not except staff to bring food over with his fingers dipped into my food. Also along with food health and safety, staff cleanliness is a must, waiter not only to be taught to hold food bowls/plates by the bottom and for fingers to be keep away from mouth of food, as well as personal hygiene (odour). To summarise a great stay, the poolside staff were amazing, the up keep of hotel was great. A lovely location away from the hustle and bustle of busy Dubai. Read less

I’m coming to the end of another amazing visit to this wonderful property. From the service at reception from Lizyl and concierge on arrival to the attentive and accommodating staff at the pool bar and all restaurant outlets. The amazing Akram and the great team at the Azure pool bar and restaurant looked after us so well every day, with Ranga and Mohan also particularly attentive during our visit. The cocktails at Azure were first class - kudos to the bar team. There is a lot more to do at night now at the property with the movie nights for families at Azure and the new Siddharta lounge being a great place to relax at night for families with kids over 12. Saju is another ever present delightful team member at peacock alley and his cocktails are to die for. He is so particular and will make up cocktails according to your preferences. Even going ‘off menu’ to do so. The Lexington grill continues to provide the best steaks I’ve ever had home or away. First class again, I’ll be sorry to leave. Next visit will be planned as soon as I can. A massive thank you and well done to the entire team in the Waldorf Astoria RAK. Read less

I have lost count of the number of times we have stayed at the hotel but it still continues to be our number one choice for a beach holiday in the UAE. The outdoor area is extensive even when the hotel is fully booked it never feels crowded. We spent most days on the beach close to the adult pool. The rooms as always where immaculate and Sarah who was responsible for making up our room was a star. The service both on the beach and around the pool bar was exceptional. All the staff are fantastic but in particular Bright who never stops smiling and Matuh who always gave exceptional service. Over the past year their have been a number of changes in particular Azure restaurant located near the main pool is now open 3 evenings per week. The food in the evening was excellent and the service first class, I'd like to mention Andeep and Aegean they are both a credit to the hotel. We also went to 17 Squared for drinks in the evenings and had the pleasure of meeting Katy she was the perfect host in the bar and again gave first class service. We've already planned our next trip and are counting down to our next visit in January. Read less

Having stayed at Waldorf Astoria RAK several times before we decided its time to return as all our previous visits have been wonderful. I travelled with my wife and 11 year old son. We organised pick up from the airport through concierge, collection was seamless and hassle free worth getting the hotel to organise transfers. The welcome, given it was 9am, was superb, greeted by name and taken straight to a wonderful suite and checked in to our room by our personal concierge - just a great start to our 8 day holiday. Our suite was large, no balcony which was not a big issue for us, large bowl of fruit and selection of local pastries and dates. One small improvement is the camp bed for my son was a bit old and mattress had seen better days, but again not a big issue and I’m sure if we wanted it changed that would not have been a problem. The hotel has kept the place looking sumptuous and fresh, it’s a stunning property and immaculate throughout. The grounds and pool area are beautiful and plenty of sun beds which were comfortable. Loved the idea of the water stations with reusable plastic glasses instead of bottles of water which were often not cold and this is much more environmentally friendly and easier. We ate in most of the restaurants in the hotel and all served excellent food, our favourites were Azure and the Lexington Grill although chilling with a bite to eat in Peacock Alley with a lovely pianist was really relaxing. Breakfast had its usual large selection of quality food covering every taste, it was not too busy, I’ve been here at Easter and it can get really busy. I noticed at the weekend they opened the Lexington to ensure breakfast service remained high. We were invited to the opening night party of the Astorias new lounge/bar Siddharta by Buddha Bar - it was a great party and my 11 year old had a great night. For those thinking of RAK rather than Dubai I much prefer Waldorf Astoria in RAK than the Palm and whilst this area is less commercialised and quieter which I prefer there is still enough around with an indoor mall and golf course very near by. Like any good hotel the staff are what makes it and I was delighted to see that the standards remain very high, I received a call on behalf of the General Manager to apologise as he could not greet us personally when we arrived (I didn’t expect him to do that anyway) but a nice touch, Coral at the front desk printed out our boarding passes and our personal concierge was always checking if there was anything she could do. All the staff we encountered were a credit to the hotel. I write this review on my last day, Its Been Too Long since we were last here and we will not leave it as long next time... Read less
