A magnificent hotel close to the old city of Jerusalem. Exceptional standards are upheld here with incredible dining. The Shabbat meal is unequal. Breakfasts are wonderful with the selection of foods that are too broad to contemplate. Service by the waiter named Said is truly exceptional. A L Ringo

However, what stood out the most was the service, which was well above the standard at other luxury hotels in Jerusalem. From Ata who provided excellent service each morning at breakfast to Assem at the front desk who was outstanding, the hotel staff was fantastic. This is our favorite hotel in Jerusalem and we will definitely be back. Read less

We were very happy with this hotel. We enjoyed our visit and were with several friends touring Israel. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner most evenings and were very happy with the selections. The closeness to the Jaffe Gate gave us quick and easy access to Old Jerusalem. The upscale restaurant within this hotel (Scala maybe?) was not impressive AT ALL! For a large group, they would set down one small bowl of food and expect everyone to share. One small chicken breast was sliced into four pieces and set before six people to share. This meal just dragged on forever and a day and we all left hungry. I'm sure we paid out the wazoo for this meal. Our travel organizer took care of paying the bill so I"m not entirely sure what it ended up costing. Read less

I stayed at this hotel approximately 20 years ago and did not have a good experience and vowed never to come back. Unfortunately, I was w a conference and they booked the rooms at the Citadel. While the hotel is pretty and in an excellent location, it is poorly managed. I had requested and paid for an upgrade but they did not give me an upgraded room. In fact, I was on top of the restaurant rather than a high floor. The room was small as well. When I asked if this was the upgrade I paid for I was told yes. I then asked one of my colleagues who in fact had An upgraded room if I could seE it. It was huge and had a Beautiful view. I also asked a colleague who had not upgraded to see their room and it was the same as mine. Management denied that my room was not upgraded until I told them I had inspected several rooms. Eventually they did not charge for an upgrade. In addition,I had no hot water in The shower for two days. The tiles are marble but not honed and therefore slippery. The bedside pencil did not work. Housekeeping is sloppy. They put body lotion instead of hair conditioners in the shower. Easy error but sloppy. They do not refill bathroom supplies dIly. No cotton balls. Qtips, etc refilled. In the restaurant, while the food is very good The service is terrible. What is the point of having waiters if they don’t come around? No coffee, salt and pepper. No removal of dishes, etc. I had to wait half An hour for coffee or milk. They never set out teaspoons either. Again, sloppy!!! The guests should not have to leave the table repeatedly to get coffee or spoons or food. When I called to complain to the manager, nobody picked up. After going in person to the fro t desk, it took a day for him to call me. The gym is nice. I will not go back. Read less

This is the old Jerusalem Hilton. I have stayed several times. The hotel Is very comfortable, but if you are looking for a unique Jerusalem experience, this is not it. The rooms are well appointed, but the beds are a little too soft for me. The staff is very helpmeet and it is very well located.
