From the moment we arrived at the check in when they refused to accept our credit card for the deposit for room extra charges, we have had problems. The hotel is not particularly clean and extremely tired. Our so-called Executive room was dirty and not properly prepared, on 3 separate occasions we have asked to speak to the Manager, but he/she is still in hiding, refusing to meet/speak with us. The surrounds to the pool are dirty, and final insult today they have started repairs to the shower by the salt water pool and it is no longer functioning, so when you come out of the salt water you cannot even shower off. Repairs are being carried out to the outside balconies of the building, not that this was mentioned on the website, and when you are sitting by the pool, bits of concrete and dust and debris keep falling on you. Yesterday morning despite their being a “do not disturb” notice on our door, whilst we were at breakfast, housekeeping came into our room and made it up whilst all our possessions were out - totally unacceptable! One small saving grace, the majority of dining room staff are very helpful. Read less

We had one night at Herods Tel Aviv hotel. The hotel is way overpriced - the room we had is outdated and looks like needs a serious renovation. The pool is very small and during busy times will be too crowded. During a breakfast service no one has approached us to check if anything is needed, we had missing forks and had to find it by… Read more

The positive part - the mattress is very comfortable, relatively good noise isolation. Read less

This is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. With a club located on top of my room, the staff could care less. The bathrooms had mold, the rugs had not been cleaned in years, the manager at night is the rudest person and they have creepy photos of dead people hanging through the walls. You look outside, see the Hilton and other amazing hotels,… Read more

You look outside, see the Hilton and other amazing hotels, then figure out you were tricked into staying in a wannabe luxury hotel. This is not even a 2 star hotel, the food at the restaurant I would give it a 4 star, that’s it. Read less

We had 2 nights in the hotel paying full price. Our northern facing rooms were on the side of hotel being renovated. The room was fine. We did not appreciate a call at 2 am one night and a knock on the door with an offer to clean room at 3 pm on Friday. Israelis all know NEVER disturb one another 2-4 on a Friday. The breakfasts were good and the… Read more

This hotel trades on its name ONLY - to create a reputation for being a LUXURY hotel. Both DH and I were VERY disappointed in our recent stay at Herods Tel Aviv. When we arrived, I had to ask the hotel personnel, who were standing at the door, right in front of our car, which we were very obviously unloading, to please bring us a cart for the luggage. Then, after we checked in, we had to bring the cart ourselves up to the room - and it was a struggle to get the cart into the small elevators. When we arrived at our room, the door was very difficult to open due to how HEAVY it was, and then we discovered that we could not bring the cart into the room as it was SMALL. The bed was nicely made and the sheets and covers were clean. The room was clean. The AC works but only if the doors (to the hallway and to the terrace) are CLOSED. Otherwise it shuts off. There was a luggage rack tucked into the closet but nowhere practical to put it, opened in the room. The closet was difficult to open and close as the sliding doors were extremely "sticky" inside the slide rail. For some reason the hangrail for hanging clothing had been removed and rehung, a such a low level that I could not hang any dresses on it - they would drag on the floor. And the safe, was installed on the FLOOR of the closet, necessitating getting down on one's hands and knees in order to use it. There was an iron and board in the closet - nice to have, but in the way of hanging clothing, so I had to remove it and stick it into a corner of the room to get it out of the way. The bathroom was well appointed and clean but not well thought out. The door constantly pushed the floor towel out of place. The walk in shower with rainfall showerhead was nice but there were no safety grab bars in place. There was also no place to hang clothes, swimsuits, towels to dry. One light in the bathroom was out. The electric outlet in the bathroom was nonfunctioning (no reset button either). There is a TINY fridge - but it doesn't keep anything cold! We went down to the pool - the pool area is small and narrow. It was FILTHY! We found broken glass all over the floor in one area and soggy disgusing cigarette butts on the floor as well. The pool is salt water rather than chlorine and when one emerges from the pool one's body is STICKY. The floor of the pool could use a good scrubbing. The pool is scheduled to open at 8 am but the workers first arrive at 8 am and begin the prep work of making the pool ready for swimmers. So, even though I arrived at the scheduled opening time, I could not enter the pool for nearly an HOUR! Breakfast was awful but I guess I cannot blame them - it is the fault of the Covid-19 pandemic.
