Located opposite Stearns Wharf Pier on the corner of State street, this was ideal for our stay in Santa Barbara. A great hotel big enough to give you space & small enough to not be impersonal, this suited us just fine. Staff were spot on with local advice regarding places to visit, restaurants, bars etc. Nice big room on the West side, couldn't… Read more

I was looking for a decent location to stop in Santa Barbara after completing Route 66. We’d passed through several years ago from San Fran to LA & had a glorious breakfast in Sambo’s. The Harbour View was about 200 yards away from the restaurant. The Inn is really clean and has L’Occitane toiletries in the bathrooms – good choice! We had a partial view of the Harbour and the room was a suite with a sitting room. We had a long narrow balcony which was on the main block and sat above the parking garage, although there was no traffic noise or disruptions. The price wasn’t cheap, but clearly the fixtures and fittings were high end. Location was excellent as there are dozens of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops around the corner on State Street. The Inn used to have a breakfast bar, but use a coffee shop around the corner as a ‘surrogate’ breakfast room with discount for guests. The pool area is adequate with a bar I the corner. The pool sits aside the West Cabrillo Boulevard, but the noise wasn’t an issue. NB. One thing to consider; the Harbour View Inn have blocks of rooms, which aren’t all on the premises. There is an isolated block on State street (North Wing), a 5-minute walk from reception and one above the coffee shop (East Wing), 2 minutes’ walk away. They all look nice, but bear this in mind when booking. It wouldn’t have been a deal breaker for us, but it is nice to be close to reception. Read less

The italian restaurant next door gives you a 10% discount and their pasta with lentils was delish. i would recommend to families on a road trip like us. Read less

Great spot adjacent to the pier, beach, and the nicer end of State Street. Pretty nice hotel, we stayed in 306, 3rd floor city view suite. I'd say it's one of the nicer rooms as it had a separate living room, spacious bathroom w huge soaking tub. The balcony had a relaxing view of the back side canal, quiet, w plenty of light. Only by looking, it did seem much nicer than a lot of the other hotels in the area. 2nd choice, Grand Californian right next door, rooms were much more expensive for a smaller room. Didn't know what to expect but very happy with our choice. Read less

A disappointment for me was that in this day and age of environmental awareness , the hotel did not provide any free drinking water , but instead charged $7 for a bottle of imported water from Norway . This was totally ridiculous . Read less
