Grand Canyon Western Ranch

Grand Canyon, USA

The hotel

The great ranches of the Old West are considered time capsules of the American frontier and certainly you’ll get an incredible sense of history at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch, once home to Tap Duncan, a notorious gunfighter turned reputable member of society. Today, genuine pine cabin accommodation comes complete with antique cowboy bathtub, where you can literally immerse yourself in the past! The Historic Ranch House serves up authentic western home-style cooking with live cowboy entertainment to accompany your meal. There’s also an overnight campout on offer, riding first through the Joshua Tree-lined Mormon Trail. Alternatively, join a guided horseback or wagon ride and see the buffalo, the icon of the West. There's also the option to take a 20-minute Helicopter Tour from the Ranch to and inside the Grand Canyon and back. Come sundown, join your fellow cowboys and cowgirls round the campfire, toast marshmallows and listen to the songs that helped make the West famous.

Had a fabulous time here. The food was great and the entertainment was awesome. This is the second time I’ve been here and I definitely will be back! It is so close to the west rim of the Grand Canyon/sky walk. We stayed the night here, had breakfast in the morning and headed to the canyon before the tourists on buses got there!

Was driving to see the West Rim of the Grand Canyon just before it got dark. Arrived at the visitors center and it was closing up for the day, bummer....Forgot about the time change as well. Saw this place off the roadway on the way in and gave them a call to see if they had any cabins or tents available. Was in luck, Reba (The manager) got us a nice little cabin for the night. Checked in and was told that dinner was being served at their restaurant. Had a great home cooked meal prepared by the Chef, Kim. Cowboy Dave (Really Cool Dude) provided all of the guests having dinner with great entertainment (Him and his guitar) singing solo. After dinner, all of the guests were invited to sit by a camp fire and once again entertained by Cowboy Dave. He played some more music and then after being asked, performed some Cowboy Poetry (Man that was something else, Awesome!). The accommodations were what we expected, a nice little cabin with basic amenities. I will have to say that this place is a hidden gem. From the awesome staff, to the food, and cabins, I will stop in here again for another visit for sure. If your looking for something out of the norm, check this place out. Please ask Cowboy Dave about the past, present, and future of the ranch and its surroundings. That good ole boy knows some history. Read less

We rode on Blaze and Billy, who were great hosts :) it had been a long time since we’d ridden but John gave a great demonstration before we got started and we were completely comfortable the whole time. After our ride we had an amazing steak dinner at the restaurant where we were entertained with music and jokes from cowboy Dave! Overall an incredible experience, we left with the biggest smiles on our faces... A date we’ll never forget! Highly recommended and we hope to come back and stay at their cute cabins some day! Thank you to everyone who made our time so enjoyable! Read less

If you want to go camping in the mountains I highly recommend this place. Everything is exactly as listed when we booked through Expedia. The restaurant here was better than expected. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast the next morning. Casey Adams was such an entertainer. We enjoyed his live music at dinner and afterwards at the campfire. It was such a fun experience, we can’t wait to go back. The campfire every night has delicious s’mores. I can’t say enough how much we loved this place! Read less
