Grand Canyon Western Ranch

Grand Canyon, USA

The hotel

The great ranches of the Old West are considered time capsules of the American frontier and certainly you’ll get an incredible sense of history at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch, once home to Tap Duncan, a notorious gunfighter turned reputable member of society. Today, genuine pine cabin accommodation comes complete with antique cowboy bathtub, where you can literally immerse yourself in the past! The Historic Ranch House serves up authentic western home-style cooking with live cowboy entertainment to accompany your meal. There’s also an overnight campout on offer, riding first through the Joshua Tree-lined Mormon Trail. Alternatively, join a guided horseback or wagon ride and see the buffalo, the icon of the West. There's also the option to take a 20-minute Helicopter Tour from the Ranch to and inside the Grand Canyon and back. Come sundown, join your fellow cowboys and cowgirls round the campfire, toast marshmallows and listen to the songs that helped make the West famous.

Wasn’t sure what to expect with the cabins here. Turns out, they were really nice. Beautiful spot on the canyon and the Skywalk is amazing! I’ll be back with my family for the old west town and horse back riding to the canyon rim.

Went to grand canyon with my family during an official tour to US. We booked a tour from vegas. The coach brought us on time. Grand canyon is a must if you are visiting west coast. Its one of the natures wonder which one must visit. Family with young kids must be carefull as its bit dangerous to be on the edge. Otherwise its just fantastic.

We were fortunate enough to have booked a cabin. If you book a tent be aware there are six tents with about four people each that share one toilet and one shower. The food was mediocre at best and extremely overpriced. The cabin was very small and the floor in the bathroom was slanted making it very dangerous. In fact I slipped on the floor and… Read more

The food was mediocre at best and extremely overpriced. The cabin was very small and the floor in the bathroom was slanted making it very dangerous. In fact I slipped on the floor and fell into the bathtub, fortunately only had slight bruising on my legs. The singing cowboy and campfire was a nice addition and the cabin was very clean. No doubt children would enjoy themselves but for adults my advise stay in Kingman. Read less

Our kids (5 & 9) loved to stay at the ranch, meeting cowboys, playing outside with the cow and lasso. Our kids (5 & 9) loved to stay at the ranch, meeting cowboys, playing outside with the cow and lasso. The team was great, they did a cake for our son's birthday, and Casey the cowboy did special songs for him. The campfire was a first experience for them and fascinating I think. However, on the parents side... this stay was the most expensive of our week and we expected another type of comfort. Beds were noisy, curtains rails were not fixed and fell down when we opened the curtains, bathroom rug was a permanent one. The hosts asked us to park our car on the parking lot whereas all the guests did parked their cars next to their cabins... rules should be the same for everybody especially if we want to preserve the place from the modern world. Some guests left used cups on the playground and I ended up at throwing them away myself. In brief, I had high expectations for the price and trusted reviews, however I am disappointed not to be able to write a review as excellent as I read before. Hopefully the kids had great time and this comforts me a little bit. Read less
