Grand Canyon Western Ranch

Grand Canyon, USA

The hotel

The great ranches of the Old West are considered time capsules of the American frontier and certainly you’ll get an incredible sense of history at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch, once home to Tap Duncan, a notorious gunfighter turned reputable member of society. Today, genuine pine cabin accommodation comes complete with antique cowboy bathtub, where you can literally immerse yourself in the past! The Historic Ranch House serves up authentic western home-style cooking with live cowboy entertainment to accompany your meal. There’s also an overnight campout on offer, riding first through the Joshua Tree-lined Mormon Trail. Alternatively, join a guided horseback or wagon ride and see the buffalo, the icon of the West. There's also the option to take a 20-minute Helicopter Tour from the Ranch to and inside the Grand Canyon and back. Come sundown, join your fellow cowboys and cowgirls round the campfire, toast marshmallows and listen to the songs that helped make the West famous.

Horseback ride was a fun experience. My two boys had never ridden a horse and had no problems. Great guide that takes you up the mountain, through an old creek bed and to a small buffalo heard. All staff on the ranch very friendly, knowledgeable. Good entertainment from singer in the restaurant

The helicopter ride with Colton was amazing. Definitely worth checking out when you get there. We were gonna do the skywalk but decided to do the helicopter as the experience is so much greater and almost ends up being the same price. Casey is always there to entertain and does not dissapointed with his musical talent. Thanks for the great time! Read less

We visited the end of May, after traveling from Disney, Palm springs and Vegas... we decided to make a last minute to stop here before heading home to Washington state.....This by far was our favorite adventure from the entire trip! Our group decided to do the helicopter / horseback package. We were not disappointed! Amazing views that cant be seen any other way with a fantastic pilot Tom. The next morning we did the horse back ride with Cowboy John which was a lot of fun. We were treated like family during our stay. The night life around the fire was hilarious thanks to cowboy Dave. We all regret not staying a few extra days. It was so much fun! The history of the place was very interesting too. Really a very cool place to visit! The staff welcomed us and made us feel right at home. Really hope to come back soon, there is something magical about the staff, especially cowboy Dave...hes pretty special! Read less
