The hotel

The great ranches of the Old West are considered time capsules of the American frontier and certainly you’ll get an incredible sense of history at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch, once home to Tap Duncan, a notorious gunfighter turned reputable member of society. Today, genuine pine cabin accommodation comes complete with antique cowboy bathtub, where you can literally immerse yourself in the past! The Historic Ranch House serves up authentic western home-style cooking with live cowboy entertainment to accompany your meal. There’s also an overnight campout on offer, riding first through the Joshua Tree-lined Mormon Trail. Alternatively, join a guided horseback or wagon ride and see the buffalo, the icon of the West. There's also the option to take a 20-minute Helicopter Tour from the Ranch to and inside the Grand Canyon and back. Come sundown, join your fellow cowboys and cowgirls round the campfire, toast marshmallows and listen to the songs that helped make the West famous.

Exceptional experience with staff that go above and beyond to make your stay amazing! Highlights on restaurant offerings, cowboy tunes, trail ride and campfire meeting fellow travelers and s’mores. Love this place! Cabins are comfortable, clean and nice touch having rocking chairs on front porches to take in the desert and stars.

Air con and heating, private bathroom and lots of space with a huge comfortable bed. The views from the cabin were breathtaking and there were activities like mule cabin rides available, which we took. Colton was our rancher and was great. He spoke to us about the history of the area and we got to see Buffalo. It was quite expensive would be my only complaint. The main guest house was great. Lots of atmosphere with long tables. Food is good however crisps are served with burgers instead of fries. The bar is open until 10pm. The campfire was amazing. We found it very romantic with the stars and the music by the wonderful Casey, who is extremely talented. However it is also perfect for families as there are free s’mores and family friendly songs. Staff were great, very helpful and greeted us with a smile at all times. I would very much recommend. Read less
