Grand Canyon Western Ranch

Grand Canyon, USA

The hotel

The great ranches of the Old West are considered time capsules of the American frontier and certainly you’ll get an incredible sense of history at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch, once home to Tap Duncan, a notorious gunfighter turned reputable member of society. Today, genuine pine cabin accommodation comes complete with antique cowboy bathtub, where you can literally immerse yourself in the past! The Historic Ranch House serves up authentic western home-style cooking with live cowboy entertainment to accompany your meal. There’s also an overnight campout on offer, riding first through the Joshua Tree-lined Mormon Trail. Alternatively, join a guided horseback or wagon ride and see the buffalo, the icon of the West. There's also the option to take a 20-minute Helicopter Tour from the Ranch to and inside the Grand Canyon and back. Come sundown, join your fellow cowboys and cowgirls round the campfire, toast marshmallows and listen to the songs that helped make the West famous.

Helicopter to Grand Canyon fantastic & not overly expensive, camp fire every night cowboy Dave brilliant & Casey. Horses where great catered for all abilities. Linda went out of her way to help us get around. Food was great, Cabins where comfortable & had air conditioning & heating if required with brilliant rocking chairs on the porch. Amazing sunsets, so much wild life, The sunset horse ride was fantastic right down to the champagne on horse back. The cowboy camp out was amazing, 2 hour horse ride to the camp, fantastically cooked steaks over the camp fire. Went with my friend & am definitely going back sometime soon. 1st time on the Rifle range, thourghly enjoyed it, great tuition from Dave. Read less

Lynn the driver was absolutely fantastic, educating us the whole way there and back, a truly lovely lady. Delicious meal, that catered for both meat eaters and vegetarians. The helicopter ride although short, was breathtaking, with a wagon ride to the pad, must do on anybody’s list! The horse riding was a nice ride around the ranch, up to see the buffalo, with a photo opportunity at the top, with two amazing cowboys, Bob & friend. Fantastic music, Casey didn’t fail to entertain, thoroughly enjoyed listening to his self written songs and guitar, during dinner. Really made my 21st special! Thank you so much to everybody on the ranch, highly highly recommend. Read less

Thanks to everyone at the ranch, we really enjoyed the whole experience. Can't believe I managed to get on a horse after 40 years, and just how enjoyable it was.
