Grand Canyon Western Ranch

Grand Canyon, USA

The hotel

The great ranches of the Old West are considered time capsules of the American frontier and certainly you’ll get an incredible sense of history at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch, once home to Tap Duncan, a notorious gunfighter turned reputable member of society. Today, genuine pine cabin accommodation comes complete with antique cowboy bathtub, where you can literally immerse yourself in the past! The Historic Ranch House serves up authentic western home-style cooking with live cowboy entertainment to accompany your meal. There’s also an overnight campout on offer, riding first through the Joshua Tree-lined Mormon Trail. Alternatively, join a guided horseback or wagon ride and see the buffalo, the icon of the West. There's also the option to take a 20-minute Helicopter Tour from the Ranch to and inside the Grand Canyon and back. Come sundown, join your fellow cowboys and cowgirls round the campfire, toast marshmallows and listen to the songs that helped make the West famous.

This little western themed ranch was such a wonderful place to stay! The people were exceptionally friendly and the food was real comfort food. The staff all made sure that your experience was good and there was lots of fun and interesting things to do on and around the ranch. Generally a wonderful and relaxing experience.

This place is a gem! It is areal ranch with history to it. Well organized, friendly, reasonably priced, clean and of high quality all around. The cabins are excellent and when we arrived the heat had been turned on already and was toasty warm on a cool March day. The staff are super friendly and really care about what they are doing. What they offer is extremely unique with real cowboy entertainment at dinner, cowboy led songs at a campfire, horseback trail ride, and even a helicopter ride. Thanks cowboy Dave for great entertainment and conversation. We went on the trail ride with cowboy Brett and it was amazing! We felt safe and we were out on the trail for an hour of riding with horses that were well cared for, trained, well behaved, and followed directions well with new riders. Brett attended to our needs and riding levels, engaged in conversation and demonstrated attention and care throughout the trail ride. Thank you cowboy Brett, we really appreciated your expertise and care. We would definitely come back again and totally recommend this unique oasis! Read less

Highly recommended! Such an awesome experience that we will definitely go back!!! Cowboy Casey was such a fun entertainer throughout the days singing and playing his guitar and harmonica. He was like a live juke box taking all our requests too! Everything including the animals were all so welcoming and friendly. Erica provides us great service in the ranch house restaurant! It was my wife’s birthday and they did happy birthday and brought out cake! It was very delicious! Our cabin was so cozy and quaint! There’s a little loft too and the cabin would sleep four. There is no tv or WiFi (was intermittent cell service) so a great chance to disconnect and connect with nature and people around! Everyone eats meals together in the ranch house so a nice opportunity to make friends! I’m a vegetarian and they have a pretty tasty veg burger that I had with corn and mashed potatoes. We didn’t get have the time for a horse back ride but will be back for that! Others we spoke to said it was an amazing time! In the evening they do a fire and Casey entertains. They also provide marshmallows and supplies for s’mores making sure everyone had as much as they wanted! They ring the bell at last call at the bar so make sure to stock up for the fire! So much fun and the stars are amazing! Overall an amazing time and we can’t wait to go back! Read less

Evening entertainment was awesome (sitting out at the camp fire with Casey singing) and the chance to ride horses across the terrain was magical. I cannot thank the hosts enough and I would definitely recommend. I do so miss waking up and seeing the mules outside my cabin. I will be returning for sure. A big thank you to everyone we met there (hosts & guests) Read less
