The hotel

Everywhere you turn there are awesome spectacles to behold in this exotic wonderland, including the amazing 1.6 million-gallon aquarium known as Shark Reef, world-class nightlife, and top class cuisine makes an appearance in Kumi Japanese Restaurant. More highlights include the whopping five swimming pools, lazy river ride, and a wave pool with a sandy beach, all of which give you a welcome relief in that midday Vegas sun. The fully air-conditioned Casino on the Beach is accessible in your swimwear too, even the dealers wear casual beach outfits! All in all, Mandalay Bay is not so much a hotel as a big, beautiful resort city with everything you need right on property!

Prepare yourself for a mob scene at the Mandalay...from the long wait at check-in to the insanely crowded "beach" amenity which lends the property its name. Every pool jam-packed with people, kids in the jacuzzi, towel attendants not at their stations to provide a towel. This property provides anything but a luxe experience and clearly does not cater to business travelers, as the entire beach (pools, cabanas, lazy river, lounge chairs) closes at 6 p.m.-- meaning no chance for a swim for a weary traveler after a long day at a convention. An example of the property's pettiness and attempt to charge guests in any way possible...the room fridge is only permitted for chilling the room's minibar items. If you attempt to put even so much as a water bottle or yogurt in the fridge, you will be charged a fee. Need a refrigerator to store such items? Not a problem...the hotel will apparently provide one. (For a fee, of course.) There is far too much competition in Las Vegas for this standard to be acceptable at a large and established property such as the Mandalay Bay. Read less

The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is very nice. Clean room, nice pool area and excellent restaurants. The Casio is not overly crowded and easy access to the strip and other Casio/attractions!

we have little kids age 4&5. They were excited about the pool and other kids activities. Unfortunately, no kids activities and swimming pool are of certain heights therefore kids only stayed in the shallow portion. The umbrella by the pool was $75 to rent. love the sand but thats pretty much it.

Mandalay Bay resort was an excellent choice for a quick weekend getaway. Fast, and hassle free service from the mobile app. Rooms are excellent and available to guest fairly quick.

Rooms are dated and dirty. Moldy smelling. Check in was a nightmare. The bellman actually needed up helping us!
