Park MGM Las Vegas

Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

The Las Vegas hotel scene’s buzzing with resorts vying for the limelight – and this Strip-side hotel’s ready to outshine them all. Reimagined and revamped, it’s super-sharp from design to dining. An outrageous tree root sculpture snakes over its lobby; and the garden influence continues with its forest green palette, the al fresco Provencal feel of its Primrose restaurant, and the elegant pool oasis, where swanky cabanas, sunken sun loungers, and poolside service evoke a South of France vibe around its three pools. Of course, Park MGM Las Vegas hasn’t forgotten its roots (or its location on that all-American mainstay, The Strip) so you also get State-side classics like Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar (where the cool crowd slink straight to the back for a seat in a secret ‘speakeasy’ lounge). No wonder the Park MGM attracts headliners like Cher, Queen, and Lady Gaga.

When we first walked in the lobby late on a Tuesday night, I wasn't impressed. The renovated hotel (former Monte Carlo) has been refurbished and I was told it was "finished" Jan. 1st. I'm not sure who designed the lobby/front desk area but it appears they forgot that area and just ran out and got some cheap urns and plastic flowers. We waited in line for quite some time since there were only 2 people working. It was Pac-12 Tournament week so maybe they should have had another person working? We had a complicated reservation so I didn't want to use the self-check in. Once we got to the desk, it was easy and quick and we got the 2 queen-bed room we reserved. We asked to be away from the elevators and we certainly were! All the way at the end of the hall 😆 which was fine. Strip view room. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the rooms. We had the bright red theme (saw other rooms while they were being cleaned) and it was clean. Fortunately we bring all of our clothing on hangers so the fact that there were very few hangers didn't bother us. There were only 2 very small drawers in the closet. The room was fairly small but manageable. The employees were very friendly and always greeted us in the halls or elevators. We were in town for the Pac-12 basketball tournament. The Park MGM couldn't be any more convenient! Just walk out the door and across a small street. The casino was rather smoky. Maybe their ventilation system doesn't work that well? Seems larger/nicer hotels have this figured out. We ate at Eataly a few times.....it's great! Expensive but lots of choices. We didn't go into any other of the hotel's restaurants or bars. I would probably stay here again if we're in town for the tournament if only for the convenience. Last year we stayed at The Wynn which is far superior but any time we had to go anywhere, we had to Lyft. That gets old really fast! Read less

We are very pleased with this stay. I wouldn't recommend the Italian Eatery. It is VERY expensive and was just OK food. I got a meat and cheese sampler and some fig preserves and it was $45. Only ate about 1/4 of it, wasn't very good. Service was great though Also the little cafe bettys side grill>? Don't get the nacho bar. Very plain tasting, didn't care for that either. Read less

This place is my go-to Hotel to stay in Vegas. Whether its just my husband and I or if we bring our kids along. This hotel has an inviting family atmosphere for those who like to vacation with the kiddos. Love their staff and how the hotel is basically in the middle of the strip with easy access to all the fun places Vegas has to offer.

I had the worst check-in ever and check out should not take a be The worst check in 45 minutes. Not the room I wanted no help getting another room. Check out should it take one and a half hours and four phone calls to get a bellhop to pick up our luggage???? I don’t think so
