Kimpton Hotel Palomar Los Angeles

Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

The hotel

With an A-list address in Westwood, bordering Beverly Hills, the Palomar’s a microcosm of all that’s great in LA: the laid-back poolside living; the celeb-worthy design details; the new trend of sustainable cooking. Here you don’t just visit LA, you live it. Its sense of style infuses every space, but nowhere more so than at the pool, where an al fresco lounge features comfy cushioned seating and a fireplace. Double Take serves up unfussy, market-inspired snacks, salads and entrées that shine with Southern California ingredients. Bookending each day, the complimentary morning refreshments and evening wine hour remind you this is the land of indulgence; while the free 24-hour gym’s wall of windows looks out onto Wilshire Boulevard, so you don’t miss any sightseeing.

We moved on to the next leg of our trip but left some personal belongings by mistake, the staff were great and held onto things until we were next passing through which was a huge relief. We had breakfast there every day, plenty of choice and very delicious. Cannot make any recommendations for improvement, thank you for a great stay. Read less

The hotel is conveniently located in western LA on Wilshire Blvd. Looks nice and the decorating is modern. That is enough to get your attention. What they don’t tell you is the rooms are noisy. Staff is good except for front desk. A hot mess there. Read less

The team and management did an excellent job making my stay pleasurable. Kimpton is no my number one place to stay and the Kimpton Polomar was a nice experience. It is one of my top picks for places to stay when visiting LA.

The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The water pressure is great in the shower! There is flavored water in the lobby which is a nice touch as you enter. Now for the negatives. There is a ridiculous resort fee of $26/day and overnight parking at $45/night. The resort fee is definitely NOT worth it. You pay this fee for the very mediocre gym, two bottles of water (which we were not given), transport within 2 miles of the hotel (when we tried to use it, there was a one hour wait), some passes for nearby gyms and yoga -which we did not use. We were given three $10 vouchers to use during our three night stay. We used it to purchase a few snacks like fruit! Even an omelette at this hotel is extremely expensive!! We have also paid less for parking in downtown San Francisco than at the Kimpton Palomar LA!! There is some street parking if you are lucky. Not sure if we will come back to this hotel. Read less

This hotel is in a very convenient location near UCLA, but for the price it needs some work. First off, the rooms are great so no issue there, but the restaurant is not very good and way overpriced, could be the reason why it is almost always very sparsely used. Second, it would be nice if they had some grab and go items. Finally, the power went out (I do not think it was their fault, but nothing proactive, if they can send a text to see how everything is going they should send an advisory text (yes the phone system was still working) and finally when I called down to find out what was going on the girl at the front s desk said their power came back on so mine should shortly (she didn’t know they were on generator power). So the power goes out for an hour and a half and no one ever apologized. Read less
