Kimpton Hotel Palomar Los Angeles

Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

The hotel

With an A-list address in Westwood, bordering Beverly Hills, the Palomar’s a microcosm of all that’s great in LA: the laid-back poolside living; the celeb-worthy design details; the new trend of sustainable cooking. Here you don’t just visit LA, you live it. Its sense of style infuses every space, but nowhere more so than at the pool, where an al fresco lounge features comfy cushioned seating and a fireplace. Few things about this hotel you should notice: 1. The hotel isn't in Beverly Hills, it's in Westwood village, 30 - 40 min walk or 5 - 10 min drive away. 2. They charge additional 25$ a night, in addition to room price. The say it's for "guest amenities", but somehow it's non-optional and first time I heard about it was at check- in. Called for a manager, which wasn't able to explain me why they doing it. 3. At check out I was charged 25$ again for a same night, luckily at last moment I noticed the overcharge. 4. The breakfast is extremely overpriced, so you can have a great breakfast somewhere else for a reasonable price, which I did. 5.The room wasn't clean, which didn't surprise me, considering all the things above. Overall: Never again. Read less

Nice Wilshire Blvd hotel. Rooms clean, modern with great bedding. Not too large, but sufficient room for two people. Great water pressure in shower. Food for breakfast was pleasant surprise with delicious salmon eggs benedict. Only disappointment was closure of the restaurant area at odd times. This is the second time I've stayed here and it was a repeat of the first mediocre experience. I only tried it again because the location is convenient but this was the last time. This is the second time I've stayed here and it was a repeat of the first mediocre experience. I only tried it again because the location is convenient but this was the last time. It took 2.5 hours, three phone calls and a text message for someone to deliver a room service menu to my room, by which time I'd already gone down to the lobby and was told by the front desk that they don't have any and I should try the restaurant. The restaurant handed me a menu, said that not everything on the menu is available for room service and recommended that I save myself the $12 delivery fee and come and get the food myself. Stunning! Then, after I checked out and looked at my bill there were mini bar charges despite the fact that I didn't take anything from the mini bar. So, check your bill carefully if you stay here. It's absolutely not worth it. Read less

The Kimpton Hotel Palomar is situated in Westwood, close to UCLA, has nice comfortable rooms, good food, and an overall pleasant atmosphere. UCLA is a walk of <1 mile and it is in the more residential blocks of Wilshire but shops and restaurants of Westwood are 1/2 mile or less.
