Kimpton Hotel Palomar Los Angeles

Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

The hotel

With an A-list address in Westwood, bordering Beverly Hills, the Palomar’s a microcosm of all that’s great in LA: the laid-back poolside living; the celeb-worthy design details; the new trend of sustainable cooking. Here you don’t just visit LA, you live it. Its sense of style infuses every space, but nowhere more so than at the pool, where an al fresco lounge features comfy cushioned seating and a fireplace. Double Take serves up unfussy, market-inspired snacks, salads and entrées that shine with Southern California ingredients. Bookending each day, the complimentary morning refreshments and evening wine hour remind you this is the land of indulgence; while the free 24-hour gym’s wall of windows looks out onto Wilshire Boulevard, so you don’t miss any sightseeing.

Booked here through my company for a work trip, and I am thoroughly grossed out by the dirty pillows. I happened to check them and 3 out of 4 pillows were yellow and stained. Not looking forward to spending the night here, and if my schedule wasn’t so packed, I would move hotels in a heartbeat. A few other things: the hangers in the closet don’t match and some are broken. The furniture is mismatched and looks like they only half renovated the room. Will definitely speak with my company about not recommending this place. Read less

In summary, we left the hotel rather underwhelmed. Rooms felt small and entirely unremarkable, service was ok but nowhere near the first class hotels. Lobby area small. Breakfast we did not try as it was only a la carte. Location is practical but beware that although marketed as a Beverly Hills hotel, it is in fact located at walking distance from… Read more

Breakfast we did not try as it was only a la carte. Location is practical but beware that although marketed as a Beverly Hills hotel, it is in fact located at walking distance from the Westwood shopping area. You'll need a car to get to the Beverly shopping area. Same in order to reach any decent place to eat. Overall, although it should make a decent budget choice near Beverly Hills, prices place it at almost the same level as international chains, where it clearly cannot compete. Read less

I was there are a conference. The staff was helpful, room was clean and fresh. I was traveling a lone, but felt extremely safe. I would recommend this chain. Enjoyed the happy hour too. Close to everything only about 20 minutes from the airport

It’s a bit of a walk to the campus but you can Uber for around $5 or take the free hotel shuttle if it’s available. My family loved the lounge area in the lobby and game room as well as the pool area. Both were great for relaxing after a long day and the happy hour was a nice treat. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The mini bar and basket of goodies were stocked with everything you could think of. We did not splurge on any of the items but did enjoy the soaps, shampoo and body wash. Note, there are no vending machines at the hotel so be prepared to bring your own beverages and snacks unless you want to spend $$$. There are plenty of options for food delivery if you want more variety than the hotel restaurant. Two places you don’t want to miss are The Burger Lounge for fantastic burgers and Diddy Riese for dessert. Read less
