The hotel

With an A-list address in Westwood, bordering Beverly Hills, the Palomar’s a microcosm of all that’s great in LA: the laid-back poolside living; the celeb-worthy design details; the new trend of sustainable cooking. Here you don’t just visit LA, you live it. Its sense of style infuses every space, but nowhere more so than at the pool, where an al fresco lounge features comfy cushioned seating and a fireplace. Double Take serves up unfussy, market-inspired snacks, salads and entrées that shine with Southern California ingredients. Bookending each day, the complimentary morning refreshments and evening wine hour remind you this is the land of indulgence; while the free 24-hour gym’s wall of windows looks out onto Wilshire Boulevard, so you don’t miss any sightseeing.

Stayed there for a business trip that was convenient to the location I had to visit daily . While the rooms are well appointed, it still astounds me that hotels of this caliber don't have coffee pots in the rooms for their guests convenience. That said, they do provide free coffee starting at about 4am, and it is good quality, but that means you have to be dressed and presentable to grab your coffee which sits near the front entrance where the weather was a bit nippy for me. Restaurant was also very nice, though the biscuits that were used for breakfast were as dry as cardboard. I don't mind paying $12 for the equivalent of a fast food sandwich, but hope that it has more quality to it than that. All in all, I would go back, but be more educated about the amenities that I am accustomed to in many of the other hotel chains. Read less

Room was large and comfortable. Staff Is friendly. Food is so-so. There is literally nothing but apartment buildings around the hotel and the area while well maintained is kinda of bland. It’s more Westwood than Beverly Hills.

Hi just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel check in was very efficient I asked If there was a coffee machine or kettle in the room he replied no but u u want I will hav one sent up Got to the room and wasn’t disappointed lovely spotless room. With all facilities etc bathroom little on the small size but was perfectly adequate Within 5 min a knock on the door and a man with coffee maker and Pods etc was there also my curling tong was 240 volts so wouldn’t work but there were complimentary ones to use along with numerous other things I occasionally forget while packing u just ask at reception . We didn’t eat at the hotel as we were up and out and didn’t return till later 11pm but wen we went down in the morning there was complimentary coffee and a hot chocolate station with all the little extras with either take away or pot cups , handy when you are out for the day first morning we arrived there was a severe weather warning and flash flooding so stayed in the lounge area for a while till it slowed down played pool and darts and there were a couple of other things to do , All in all was a lovely stay the staff were so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble After staying here would definitely stay another Kimpton hotel however probably won’t be back to LA as we have seen that now well done guys 😊 Read less

Not only does this hotel have a "resort fee" or $29 per day, but parking is $45 dollars. But wait -- there's more: the collect TAX for these services. Typically any local tax for a service is INCLUSIVE in the price. First, this is not a resort and you receive virtually nothing for the fee -- pool access? It was raining... pool was closed.… Read more
