Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

The hotel

Living the high life in more ways than one, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is every bit the VIP pad – especially when you’re up on the exclusive rooftop pool deck, soaking in the 360 degree views as you slink from your private cabana into the glimmering pool for a dip. With its balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows, your guestroom delivers its own jaw-dropping views of the Boulevard, hills, or LA skyline. And the views inside are just as dazzling, whether you’re eying up the sparkling cocktails at its French-inspired Lobby Lounge; the glamour of La Prairie Spa; the fine dining masterpieces of its French-American restaurant (under the helm of celebrated chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten); or the beautiful coastal Californian interiors by creative genius Pierre-Yves Rochon – who’s used muted greens and golds and delicate woods and whites to create an art deco garden vibe.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Beautiful hotel and great staff. Plus my 14 year old was in dream land when he was able to ride in a Rolls Royce

May 17, 2019 FiveStarFamilyTravel Monroe, Michigan

This is the second time we stayed, the first was a month after they opened. This is a beautiful hotel with neat perks like a Rolls Royce house car that will take you 3 miles complimentary. The staff is great and management cares about their property, we look forward to our return.

Waldorf had a number of service issues when it first opened. They buckled down and refined their service and experience to be the BEST in Beverly Hills. We have had dozens of stays at Beverly Wilshire and Montage, none come close in this town.

All I can say is Wowwwwww I have no complaint every single employee there is so concerned about the client and their experience. I usually stay at Ritz Carlton’s and this hotel BLEW them away. The team is remarkable. All interactions were lovely, whether it was the valet, room service, front desk, concierge, etc. They not only executed superb guest service, they all individually seemed to share a ‘special talent’. They were able to read myself as well as other W.A. guests (the ones I happened to notice) flawlessly. What do I mean by this (being “able to read”)? If I desired “buttoned up” and efficient, they gave it to me. When I preferred detail and care, they provided. I tend to be laid-back, so when I wanted casual and easy-going, they reciprocated with me. They knew my wants and how to exceed my personalized and unique expectations...all without me voicing a peep. The staff at the W.A. Beverly Hills have a gift that many individuals in the industry, as well as any industry, do not. This is empathy as well as being able to perfectly execute just about any task efficiently. Empathy and efficiency, such a powerful and precious combination to have within the staff. They are the first to know of any need or want before you can even utter a word. We tend to pay attention to the good but REALLY pay attention to the bad. I just wanted to share my experience and let someone know that the staff are truly diamonds in the rough. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Hair all over the bed cover same problem 4 different beds. Hotel staff acknowledged it was a problem on all queen beds

Hair all over the beds. We normally love this location and we were there when it opened 2 years ago. This trip however was different we stayed for 5 nights and were so excited to be back as it is 5 star luxury hotel. We expected 5 star service, which we received, but we also expected five star cleanliness. This is where they failed, we checked In, and out of habit we pulled back the sheets to check the bed. I was shocked to find a significant amount of hair on the bed. I checked the second queen bed and found the same. I was told by the cleaning staff as well as the front desk (I have a text stating the same) that “we have had a manufacturing problem with our bed cover supplier for the queen beds so we haven’t been able to change them.” I was then told “we rotate them but the hair won’t come off as we await new ones”. This is not true however as we have pictures and this wasnt just hair stuck into the fiber it was hair that was long and falls off when you lift the cover. They attempted to lint roll it but we demanded they rake it off and add more sheets. They offered to upgrade us to a 2 queen suite which I said thank you but only if they check the other room and remove the bed cover because we were told that this same problem is in all their queen bed rooms while they wait for a new supply of covers. Bad excuse in my opinion and. It a way a $6,000 hotel stay should be. It was disgusting. Who would want to sleep On other peoples hair and dog hair as they allow dogs in the room. We confirmed with a second person not to move us without checking the room and removing the bed cover if it had the same problem. To our Horror we moved to our new suite and checked the bed. It was worse than the other one and this time both beds had hair and now dirt and a yellow stain. I have pictures and video to prove it. I asked the front desk to move us back as at least it was clean since we had the bedding removed plus it was now 11:30 at night with young children. I expected the Waldorf to make it right and make sure our second room was clean. We wasted 2 nights when we should have been able to relax in our room. They only said we will give you half off one night. And we are sorry but all the queen beds have the hair on them. Not what you should expect for a five star. We would have welcomed them to make it right and I wouldn’t have posted this but with the lack of care in the solution I think it is important that you know what you are going to when spending this much. There are several other five star hotels in the area that are clean and great service. The Concierge was great and very helpful with planning and reservations. The hotel is beautiful but you can’t look past the cleanliness and lack of making it right. I will post pictures and videos in the future. Read less
