Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

The hotel

Living the high life in more ways than one, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is every bit the VIP pad – especially when you’re up on the exclusive rooftop pool deck, soaking in the 360 degree views as you slink from your private cabana into the glimmering pool for a dip. With its balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows, your guestroom delivers its own jaw-dropping views of the Boulevard, hills, or LA skyline. And the views inside are just as dazzling, whether you’re eying up the sparkling cocktails at its French-inspired Lobby Lounge; the glamour of La Prairie Spa; the fine dining masterpieces of its French-American restaurant (under the helm of celebrated chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten); or the beautiful coastal Californian interiors by creative genius Pierre-Yves Rochon – who’s used muted greens and golds and delicate woods and whites to create an art deco garden vibe.

Well first impressions do count! 1. I booked a pick up from the airport through the hotel. I got to the hotel, no member of staff offered to help with my luggage - they didn't even smile. 3. As. a diamond member I'd been offered a e -upgrade, which was paid for, they didn't tell me as I checked in that had happened - but it was for a quiet room on a higher floor 4. The room was noisy - a rooftop bar opposite - I went down to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel - they said they didn't have one but would try to sort it the next day - they never did. 5. the bed is lumpy - like a milliion people have slept on it So I decided to cut my 6 nights at the WA down to 2. I checked out. I found the hotel vibe is uncomfortable and unfriendly. The good points - the two stars are for staff members Rachenda and David who were kind and helpful. There is no need to be so sterlile in your service just because you are high end! I won't be back. Read less

Been looking forward to staying here for awhile and this WA property mostly delivered. First the negatives: Check-in was less than ideal. I was hoping to PAY for an upgrade to a better room but was told the hotel was "booked full" even though online showed plenty of rooms being available. There just seemed to be a lack of confidence at the front desk on how to do this, however after arriving at our room I noticed it was not the one I had picked on online check-in and faced south instead of Beverly Hills like I had picked. The central concierge on the phone was able to fix when I reminded them I was more than happy to pay for an upgraded room. All of this wasted one hour of our time at check-in when it should have been a more seamless check-in for a WA (I was literally waiting downstairs for half an hour to sign the paperwork for the paid upgrade...). Dinner at JG was good however the food didn't seem to agree with us that night for some reason... Service on the Rooftop for a nightcap was quite good, however it was annoying that as a hotel guest, the tables with a view were for people dining and there was no view if you were sitting at the bar. For the room, it was a little annoying you had to call for an ironing board and iron as well as a steamer. Furthermore, the iron and steamer were frankly very cheap (Black and Decker) for the caliber of this hotel so it would be nice if they'd invested on higher quality ones because they did not work very well. The iPad of our room kept malfunctioning so it seemed more of a hassle and Alexa was very limited on what it could do. Now for what made this WA great: Housekeeping was really on point with turn down service ,cleaning, and stocking room amenities. Also the staff that mans the concierge phone line if you have any issues or request were extremely top notch and knew how to handle virtually and request with a friendly can-do attitude. Valet and front door staff were very friendly and fast. The young man who was working the pool was extremely friendly, remembering us from multiple days and always checking in to make sure we were happy. Views from the hotel were amazing and the rooms were extremely well appointed. Overall it was a very good stay but fell short of being amazing. Read less

Extremely comfortable beds, spacious rooms, with balconies. Location is great, can walk to parks restaurants and stores. Hotel car can drive you 3 miles, no charge. But parking is expensive at the hotel. Food is very expensive and drinks. Beautiful rooftop pool with view. No shade & very windy

Loved every single aspect of our stay. The rooms are exceptional. We married here 3 years ago and we noted how well maintained every single corner of this hotel is. I would return here again and again. You won't be disappointed.
