Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

The hotel

Living the high life in more ways than one, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is every bit the VIP pad – especially when you’re up on the exclusive rooftop pool deck, soaking in the 360 degree views as you slink from your private cabana into the glimmering pool for a dip. With its balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows, your guestroom delivers its own jaw-dropping views of the Boulevard, hills, or LA skyline. And the views inside are just as dazzling, whether you’re eying up the sparkling cocktails at its French-inspired Lobby Lounge; the glamour of La Prairie Spa; the fine dining masterpieces of its French-American restaurant (under the helm of celebrated chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten); or the beautiful coastal Californian interiors by creative genius Pierre-Yves Rochon – who’s used muted greens and golds and delicate woods and whites to create an art deco garden vibe.

The staff was friendly and service was amazing. Access to everything in the hotel was superb as well. The concierge team were super efficient and always ready to assist. I’ll definitely visit again. The rooftop bar is a must and I was there every night during my stay and spa service was wonderful.

I don't normally write a review, but feel compelled to write this one about my recent stay at this hotel. I booked this hotel for three nights for the price of two plus additional two nights under a separate reservation but walked away from a free night of stay and cancelled the second booking because the quality of service was so poor. I am a repeating customer and had stayed at this hotel twice before. Therefore, I know what the service was like before. Room service: The food quality was really below standard, and choices were limited. I ordered from the room service menu three times during my two day stay and tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I ordered egg white omelet and told them specifically that I CAN NOT have tomato. There was no tomato inside the omelet but there were chunks tomato with deep fried potatoes on the plate. The chicken sausages were burned and black. I couldn't touch either one. When I showed the photos of the tomato on my plate and the burned sausages to the lady who worked at the front desk as I was checking out, she was shocked by what I showed her. In fact, she was the second person at the front desk who asked if I could forward her the photos because both of them were taken back by the photos. Hotels and restaurants MUST take customer's food allergy and food intolerance notes seriously and carefully. Housekeeping: There was an ipad-like device in the room for service requests. I signed on to request housekeeping service around 7:00 am. It automatically selected service request between 7:00 to 10:00 am. I waited until 9:30 am but no one came. I called the front desk to let them know that I would be on a conference call at 9:45 am. Since the housekeeping people were not there yet, I had to reschedule the service because I would be on a call. The frontdesk person told me that their housekeeping service does not start UNTIL 10:00 am. I asked her then when they had service hours between 7:00 to 10:00 am even listed. Plus, I didn't select the time. I was given the time when I clicked on housekeeping service. General service: There was only a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. I am a tea drinker, not a coffee drinker. I called the front desk around 6:30 in the morning and asked if I could get some tea bags and whether they had non-dairy creamer. I was told that the hotel DOES NOT have tea bags, and if I wanted tea or non-dairy creamer, I had to call the room service WHEN they are open. So I waited. The Amazon Echo speaker in the room did not work so I called the front desk. I was told that a technician would be with me shortly. I waited for over an hour, but no one came. I called the again. The technician (a very nice and helpful person) showed up and apologized because no one contacted him. When I called American Express (I made the booking through American Express through the Fine Hotel and Resort services) to modify my reservation, the person was surprised that I would give up a free night of stay. She immediately contacted the hotel. The hotel manager did contact me. He apologized and offered to upgrade my room. He also sent me a pot of hot water with tea bags and some pastries and chocolate, but my mind was already made up to leave and made a new booking at another hotel. I do have to give credits for the hotel manager for contacting me immediately and his kind gestures of tea, pastries and chocolate and a personal note. I also believe that the person who worked at the front desk and answered the calls was responsible for some of the issues I had. The housekeeping lady and the technician with whom I came in contact were very helpful. Read less

My husband and I just came back from spending two nights at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. This is our second Waldorf experience and the first time in this part of LA. Up front information, we booked using our Hilton Diamond Member's free night certificates for this weekend get away. No upgrade received. Diamond members do get $50 dining credit per day, which can be used at any dining venues on site. Valet Parking is $65 a day and they do have a Tesla destination charger. The hotel is beautiful, the ground well manicured and there are straight Covid19 cleaning protocol in place. We felt very safe staying here. The staff are all professional, courteous, and gracious. We felt well taken care of. Big thank you to Maddie, the front desk manager! We were placed at a lower floor when we checked in on Saturday, facing the busy main street. I didn't get an once of sleep all night from the traffic noise. We messaged the hotel and were able to get switched to a higher floor for the next night, which made a big difference. Would recommend any light-sleepers to choose a room on the higher floor / face away from the main street. Would also recommend getting drinks at the rooftop bar, the view there is incredible. Drinks are reasonable priced with great food options. We did get room service breakfast two days in a row, everything came well prepared and fresh. kudos to the food service staff. Read less

I was upgraded upon arrival, but didn’t really like an upgrade like before. But that doesn’t deserve a knock in stars at all because this hotel is absolutely beautiful with an amazing staff that truly makes you feel comfortable and at home. Last night we visited the roof top restaurant. What a beautiful place to enjoy drinks and dinner. But this shout out goes to David Eaton at the restaurant. Upon arriving at our table he noticed that my wife was cold from the mini wind storm and immediately summoned a co worker to bring not one but two blankets. On top of that he ensured that she was satisfied with the wine she was served. My new favorite restaurant. Thank you David for saving the evening, without you it could have been a disaster. If you want to stay at a hotel in Beverly Hills this is the place because everyone at this place try’s to be like David. Read less

My son and I visited the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills in Oct on a last minute trip. Initially we were supposed to stay for 1 night, but the stay was so great, we extended it a second night. Everything was perfect about this stay. When we pulled in, there was someone on each side of the car to let us out. One walked us to the front counter to check in while the other said they would handle our bags. We literally made the reservation about 20 minutes before arriving so we had to wait. They gave us water and had us wait in the gorgeous lobby. It took about a half hour for our room to be ready, but when it was, they came to us and gave us the keys. They even walked us to the elevator to show us where to swipe the card to get on our floor. When we got to the room, we immediately saw why we waited. The room was immaculate. Clean and smelled fresh. There was a video on the tv playing showing the 3 step cleaning process that involved spraying a sanitizing mist on all surfaces. Then the housekeeper wipes down all surfaces. Then they bring in some robot that uses UV lights to finish the process. After about 15 minutes in the room, we wondered where our bags were. I opened the large closet doors and our bags were already in the closet. They were there the whole time. The room was great. All the fit and finishes were wonderful. The bathroom had a large shower and a large tub complete with bath salts. The balcony had a nice view as well. We didn’t want to leave after the first night, so we extended our stay. We left to explore. When we returned, the room was immaculate again. They even took our power cords for charging our devices and wrapped them in Waldorf Astoria branded ties to keep the organized. Superb touches. The rooftop restaurant was wonderful both night. Great service and wonderful food. Good people watching too. Whenever we left or arrived, we were greeted by name. I absolutely loved this trip and this hotel. It is now the hotel that I measure all other hotels against. I can’t wait to return. Read less
