Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

The hotel

Living the high life in more ways than one, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is every bit the VIP pad – especially when you’re up on the exclusive rooftop pool deck, soaking in the 360 degree views as you slink from your private cabana into the glimmering pool for a dip. With its balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows, your guestroom delivers its own jaw-dropping views of the Boulevard, hills, or LA skyline. And the views inside are just as dazzling, whether you’re eying up the sparkling cocktails at its French-inspired Lobby Lounge; the glamour of La Prairie Spa; the fine dining masterpieces of its French-American restaurant (under the helm of celebrated chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten); or the beautiful coastal Californian interiors by creative genius Pierre-Yves Rochon – who’s used muted greens and golds and delicate woods and whites to create an art deco garden vibe.

We stayed in a group of 6 @ the WA and celebrated a round birthday @ The Rooftop. We had a absolute blast @ our stay and loved every single moment. Pure luxury and amazing service close to Rodeo Drive.

The hotel is very pristine and much like a show home in terms of the clinical aesthetic which to these eyes doesn't really promote cosiness, comfort, elegance or a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is very pristine and much like a show home in terms of the clinical aesthetic which to these eyes doesn't really promote cosiness, comfort, elegance or a relaxed atmosphere. Having arrived at 7.30am I knew my room may not be ready but it took until 3.30pm that day which meant after 24 hours of travelling I was left to amuse myself in the hotel most of the day. After some time at the (empty) pool area, some food on the roof and a few coffees I ended up booking a massage wondering why there were no prices on the menu. After the worst massage of my life with a pushy therapist I was charged $250 dollars including a 20% service charge added without my permission. After this when my room was eventually ready I wanted to order food before I finally went to sleep. After ordering on the slick looking iPad my food was 20 mins late so I had to reject it after I'd waited up to accept it so the room service team didn't wake me up - not a good start at all. The following day at breakfast service was hit and miss and the restaurant was devoid of atmosphere. The rooms here are large and well appointed as you would expect from a hotel in this price bracket. The hotel chauffeur service is also a great touch and very handy and punctual. However, the other facilities here are not of the same standard, meaning you leave feeling somewhat disappointed that you ultimately could have lived out your Hollywood dreams elsewhere. Read less

Enjoyed a weekend award stay at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Have been eager to stay here after years of watching the Beverly Hilton go downhill. Greeted by a beautiful room with spacious bathroom with separate tub and shower and a walk in hall closet. Enjoyed the large balcony and the color palette. Glad that grey was not emphasized the way it is as too many new and remodeled hotels. The $50 daily food and beverage credit granted to Hilton Diamond members came in handy since there’s no executive lounge and no complimentary breakfast. We also took a ride in the house Rolls Royce to a neighborhood bar. The service misses started at check in. I arrived at 2:45 PM, 15 minutes before the official check in time but was told I had to wait. Was told that there were “final room inspections” that coincidentally ended at 3 PM. I was happy to read on Trip Advisor that electric vehicle charging was available at the Waldorf. Wouldn’t have known otherwise since it’s not listed on the website. That worked out great except the valet unplugged the car before it was finished charging. Asked them to plug it in again and they complied. Parking is now $60 per day at the WA. The street noise from Wilshire Boulevard was progressively worse as the night wore on. Seems that fancy car owners like to gun it when traffic is light. We were on the 8th floor. Am thinking the WA designers should have planned for better sound attenuation with a property of this caliber located at a major intersection. When I stay at the Marriott Gateway hotel that looks out on the runway of the Atlanta Airport, for instance, I see planes from the room but I don’t hear them. On the second day, I ordered a few menu items during the Social Hour at Jean Georges. A couple arrived after I did and ordered the same items but received them first. Brought this to the attention of the bartender and finally received my order. At checkout I found out that the entire $50 credit was not applied on the first day of my stay. That was corrected. Asked the desk agent to have my car retrieved from the garage and was told it would be done. Stood outside for ten minutes and asked a valet for the car. They were never told to retrieve it by the front desk agent. All in all a decent stay but with many of the same glitches one would experience at a three star Hilton. Was hopeful for more from this marquis property. Read less

Gorgeous hotel and room. Helpful and attentive staff throughout the hotel. Great location. Very high prices for breakfast ($9) for coffee or tea. Diamond Status HH member not treated as equivalent Hyatt status member. No upgrades without a charge even though rooms were left empty. Not a good policy to highest level tier customers.

I stayed for a long weekend with my family while visiting town. Staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. Rooms are smartly designed and have automation to control everything. Pool is beautiful with a great view and excellent service. We will definitely be back.
