My girlfriend and I were in Santa Monica and almost out of battery. We looked up places with a Tesla charger and Fairmont and Fig popped up. As we pulled into the valet, we were greeted immediately despite heavy traffic. We explained our situation-we almost had no charge to drive back home and valet manager Daniel made sure we were taken care of even though they had no available Tesla chargers. Somehow they found an adapter and plugged as in. Unfortunately we had no reservations to Fig, but Daniel and Osman from valet helped us get into lobby bar to eat as they were charging our car. Those 2 should be sales people lol At the lobby bar Lupe took great care of us and made us feel home. She is wonderful! She knew everything we asked about. When we got out car back, valet even took out our empty cans and bottles. We would definitely be back to try Fig the next time. Read less

Was very pleased with helpful staff, great pool and valet service and room quality at Fairmont Miramar. Unfortunately, they seemed unaware of our Accor Reward Level and we were not offered our benefits on the 2 rooms I reserved. It gets tiring asking about benefits that hotels should be aware of. Was much better under Fairmonts old reward system...

I just stayed here 3 nights mid-April with my high school senior, at the end of a week of college tours. The location is fantastic. Right across from the beach and convenient to highways, etc. We borrowed bikes and rode up and down the beach. Although LA was uncharacteristically chilly while we were there, the pool area is lovely with plenty of seating and was protected from the wind, so it was still warm enough to sit poolside. The staff and service are wonderful. There was an issue when we checked in...our room had not been cleaned. They immediately moved us to another room on a higher floor, with wonderful views of the sunset and pool area below. The also provided complimentary refreshments while we waited for the manager to make sure the new room was all set. The gym was great! The spa looked lovely, although I didn't get to indulge this time around. The coffee shop downstairs is delicious and Fig restaurant had FANTASTIC breakfast. We ate there for dinner too, which was not as good in terms of the food but the service was wonderful and what brought us back each evening. This would be a really fun spot for a girls weekend. The bad...not specific to this hotel, but the homelessness problem in CA right now is truly heartbreaking. LA is a mess and even Santa Monica was bad. Immediately around the Fairmont and north wasn't too bad. However, you need only walk a few blocks south and there are many, many homeless sleeping beneath the palm trees along the beach. Since I was with my daughter, we didn't venture out after dark. Fortunately, the hotel itself was so lovely, we didn't feel the need to! Read less

Hotel rooms are getting a little long in the tooth for the price point. BUT - location is amazing, staff are top notch and the quality of the amenities are very good. Early morning walks on the beach and walking across the street to watch the sunset might be worth the stay by themselves. As for getting around LA - easy access to PCH, the 10 and 405 which can get you anywhere you want to go in the City. . One piece of advice - while there are MANY great food choices a short walk away, make reservations in advance or you will be having dinner at 930 or 10. Read less
