Apparently this hotel will track you when entering premise and will not allow you to patronize any of the establishments especially if you are an Asian since that’s the only description they have of me when entered. Then a male security will follow you into restroom and calculate amount of time you were in the restroom

This is such a great hotel, really nice location and lots of great amenities. The staff here is FANTASTIC, every single employee that we interacted with was super helpful and you could tell that they enjoy their jobs. They all work super hard. So, a word to management, you guys are doing a great job in your hiring, very well-trained staff and very eager to make everyone comfortable. They have a nice lounge area with large doors, which were open because of COVID, so it's well-ventilated and there are heaters on the patio overlooking the waterfalls and koi pond. The food is exceptional and service in the lounge is awesome. I felt safe dining and hanging out here, they're very good at wiping things down and they all wear shields and a mask, so they're definitely on top of it. The rooms are very nice, great view of the pier and the huge beach is one crosswalk away. There is a wonderful walking path along the beach, a couple actually, but you can choose to walk along the beach on a paved trail or walk up top with a nice view of PCH and into Palisades Park. I would definitely stay here again and you will not be disappointed. Great hotel, excellent location, wonderful restaurants on site and within walking distance, and fantastic staff all around. This reminded us of the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui. We felt safe with COVID precautions and loved all the decor. Pool area is super relaxing. Great location close to the beach and promenade. Service was great and everyone was very helpful, including Daniel solis!

I expected much more from The Fairmont. We reserved 2 rooms and they were just okay. There was a huge stain on the floor, there were no blackout blinds, Ocean Front rooms just means 30% partial ocean view and overall, the rooms were very outdated. This hotel has fallen very short compared to my experience with other 5-star hotels Ive stayed at around the world. Its my first visit and we were there for our friend's 40th birthday but there was nothing extra that was done. Even a simple happy birthday note in the room would have been a nice touch. Lack of communication was another issue since we were not made aware ahead of time that there was no 2 adjoining rooms with King beds. We checked in at 1pm but were told the rooms were not ready. We were told that we would get a phone call to inform us when the rooms were ready but we never received a call. We we returned later in the evening to check in and found out that one of the rooms did not have a King size bed (which we had specifically requested). When we brought this issue up with the manager Garrick, he was unapologetic and basically had a "too bad" attitude. He did not care and did not try to help us. I feel that it is the managers job to make a customer feel important and be blown away the whole customer service experience but instead, Garrick fell short and left us completely disappointed. Needless to say, we won’t be staying at the Fremont again. Read less
