The hotel

As sleek and understated as it appears from its spot on LA’s legendary Sunset Boulevard, the Andaz West Hollywood is actually a prime slab of Rock ‘n’ Roll history that dates back to 1963. Over the years the likes of The Who’s Keith Moon and The Stones’ Keith Richards have sent TVs flying off the (now enclosed) balconies, while Led Zep drummer John Bonham reportedly rode a motorbike up and down the corridors. Thoroughly renovated for the 21st century the Andaz relishes its history, but these days the musical motifs complement the minimally chic décor in boutique-style rooms rather than run rampant. Indeed, there’s a friendly, unpretentious welcome here that extends from the hotel’s enticing eateries to its breathtaking rooftop pool (where, incidentally, Spinal Tap’s end of tour party was filmed). It was a great place to stay, and I'm definitely planning on returning during the summer for a business trip, although it felt more like a vacation. The restaurant staff were all awesome, even though we arrived late. E.L at the front desk was a sweetheart and very accommodating. The snacks in the lobby were a great amenity of the hotel.

Amazing hotel steeped in history. So amazing I have booked 2025 for a tenth visit. the location couldn't be any more perfect situated in the middle of the fun zone on the sunset strip. It is walking distance to the Hollywood walk of fame, next door to the world famous comedy store, Runyan canyon, Beverly Hills and the bars on the sunset strip. The hotel offers a wine hour every day and is steeped in rock history without being tacky or too in your face. The history speaks for itself. I would recommend upgrading to a BOULEVARD VIEW room as the view and sun seating are is more than worth the small fee. The pool is unbeatable for vibe and the bar is one of the best celebrity handouts. Read less

Excellent hotel in a good location on the Sunset Strip. Across from the Tower bar and next door to the Comedy Club. Room comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Food at breakfast good and rooftop pool/ lounge chairs nice to have access to. Valet parking staff also professional and prompt.

Always have a great time here. Got upgraded to a corner suite. Very spacious and clean. This hotel has a lot of cool amenities like private car to close by areas. Close to many attractions. Can’t wait to come back. They also have snacks throughout the day and wine at end of day.
