No mention of renovations on the website but I was aware it was no longer a hilton. After wandering around for a few mins looking for reception, I was directed over to the tower I have always stayed in prior. It now was a make shift check in. Staff were friendly and my room was ready early. I was directed to a 2nd floor villa room. Def a musty smell in the room that never leaves. But the room was clean, had a great view and was exceptionally quiet. The hotel happy hour is still really good, however new staff the night I was there. Service sucked and lacked a welcoming feeling. Read less

We found out a few days before we arrived (January 3) that the hotel was changing ownership on January 1st. I was afraid that service might be lacking with all the changes - but luckily I was wrong! The bell hop guy was really nice and enthusiastic and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Even though the main registration counter was closed for renovations, the temporary check-in lobby was fine. Our room was nice - and clean but not spectacularly so - there was a thick blanket of dust around the light switch plates edges but the rest of the room seemed pretty clean. The bed was comfortable and the linens were nice. The HVAC system blows really hard and loud. The nice television was ridiculously large - nobody needs a 75" TV in a 200 square foot room...they must have gotten a special on them. The wi-fi was good. Breakfast was on the high side but delicious - their buffet is really nice or you can order off the menu. Overall, we will stay there again if we get a good rate...because they charge $40 for parking and $45 for the resort fee...per night! Read less

Ronald, the Director at San Diego Mission Bay Resort, always takes great care of our large parties, catering fine meals and forever meeting our various space, layout and equipment needs! We come in fairly regularly and are always pleased with his top-notch, resort-style personalized service and with the entire friendly and accommodating staff. The chef is wonderful, and the dining spaces are all beautiful. We also frequent the spot for intimate meetings and happy hour, as well as late- night hangouts. We have even thrown patio parties here, yielding great reviews from our guests due to the gorgeous space and lovely care provided. Ronald and his staff are simply the best!! We love coming here!
