Hotel Zoe Fisherman's Wharf

Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco

The hotel

If life in San Francisco is best lived on the waterfront, Hotel Zoe has one of the prime pitches for enjoying it – with a corner plot just blocks from Pier 39. This Fisherman’s Wharf favourite only reopened its doors recently after a big makeover, so it feels fresh, fabulous, and thoroughly modern. Its address means you’re just a stroll from Ghirardelli Square, the beachfront, and the neighbourhood’s top shopping and dining venues. Dining out may be tempting, but so is the hotel’s own trattoria, Pescatore. With its windows overlooking Mason Street, and tables spilling out onto the sidewalk, this Italian-inspired eatery brings you classic pizza and pasta dishes, as well as specialities like osso buco and roasted sea bass (and delicious breakfasts too). And, for the perfect nightcap, Bar Zoe is a contemporary space, ideal for locally inspired cocktails, bubbles, beers, and small bites.

Look for hidden costs before booking your stay. Parking was $60/night. Also, there were city/state/hotel costs that were not noted on the website. Also, there was a $29/night costs for amenities and we didn't use any part of the hotel or fitness center.

Perfect location, a couple of blocks from Fisherman's Wharf and a Cable Car station, walking distance to North Beach. The staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean. Loved the complimentary strawberry or lemon infused waters.

We booked this hotel last minute through AAA when our original hotel did not suit our needs. We were beyond satisfied! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The building itself is beautiful and clean. The rooms though on the smaller side are efficient and comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious. If I have any critique is the additional fees charged on top of the AAA rate and that our room service breakfast was delayed more than 1/2 hour past the scheduled window, but the staff did call to apologize and confirm we still wanted it before they brought it. Also, an in room coffee option would have been nice. Read less

We were overcharged at $600 per night when Expedia had it listed for $354 per night. The front desk and reservations manager were not helpful is resolving the problem. There are many hotels in the area at more reasonable rates and closer to the bay with a view of the water. This hotel has no view so is over priced.

Great location, room clean, helpful staff, easy access to the Alcatraz pier and public transport. Note, use the laundromat in the Safeway next door, bar did shut around 10:30 but not a problem for us. Free coffee and papers each morning
