Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco

Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco

The hotel

Bringing the outside in, this fashionable Fisherman’s Wharf hotel celebrates its neighbourhood in everything from its design to its dining. Every inch of the outside screams ‘wharf warehouse’, with its red-brick walls and arched windows ensuring it fits in with its neighbours – which frame famous attractions like Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square, and The Embarcadero. The inside continues the theme, with exposed brick and industrial accessories, but throws in a chic ‘seaside hotel’ twist with its blue and grey palette oozing seaside serenity (and touches like free WiFi oozing home comforts). Exploring’s easy with the cable car stop moments away, but there’s plenty to return to, with a 24-hour Marketplace, heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, 24-hour fitness room, and dining options that start with breakfasts in The Wardroom and finish with the rustic seaport styling and menu of Brick & Beam.

What I love about this hotel is the staff and the close proximity to everything I like to do in San Francisco. We stayed there for 4 nights. Location is great and convenient. Housekeeping ladies are friendly and do a good job cleaning the room. However, the room is dated. I’d suggest to book the deal with parking through hotel directly if you have a car. That comes with late check out (2pm), which is a plus too.

Hyatt Centric is very conveniently located on Fisherman’s Wharf. Hotel is very clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious. One of the few hotels with an outdoor pool. City view is just ok as the hotel is only 5 floors so you can’t see much. Hotel had everything we needed. Quick walk to Pier 39 which was fun walking around,… Read more

Other than the convenient location (once you discount the street noise) and the quality of the toiletries in the bathrooms (when they remembered to put them) there was nothing good about this hotel. The staff, from the concierges (we had dealings with 3) who had very little information and what they did have was usually inaccurate, to the rudeness of the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff who forgot to replenish supplies such as towels, coffee pods, bathroom toiletries, ice bucket liners, etc when showed up all. Overpriced mini-market in the lobby. I know it's San Francisco but $18 for 2 bagels and an orange juice? I'm from NYC and it's outrageous to me. I wonder what the guests from Oklahoma thought! The windows in the hotel are very thin which permits outside noise to enter the room as if the windows were wide open. There are many loud, homeless people and trucks around the hotel at night. The staff didn't consistently service the room. I would not stay at this hotel again, even though it is a great location.
