Harbor Court Hotel

San Francisco, USA

The hotel

A far cry from its days as an Army-Navy YMCA residence, today Harbor Court Hotel is one of the waterfront’s finest boutique hotels. Just steps from the Embarcadero, its Financial District address puts you a stroll from Ferry Building Marketplace, and within easy reach of Union Square, North Beach and A&T Park. Its guest rooms feature stylish touches, but it’s the bay, bridge and Treasure Island views that set it apart from other hotels. It’s all set for socialising, with hot drinks delivered by bike to the lobby each morning, and wine hours every evening (with beer and soft drinks for those not tempted by the region’s reputation for fine wine). They even throw in free bikes, a sushi and sake stocked Japanese restaurant, and discounts at neighbouring Embarcadero YMCA, with its Olympic size pool and rooftop jogging track.

San Fransisco has so many unique and beautiful sights, but the first one is the second we stepped into our hotel room. Rob (manager) knew the reason for our stay was my birthday, and he ensured it was absolutely perfect. Corresponding back and forth in the weeks up until my trip with my boyfriend, he wanted to make sure it was perfect upon arrival. He had champagne, flowers, a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge, and even an awesome cake wishing me a happy birthday! Those little features set the tone for my weekend and the staff made sure it was accommodating and comfortable. The hotel is extremely clean, has a few breakfast options, and free access to the YMCA right next door! Read less

The hotel is perfectly located (note: also close to streetcar and metro station), and features great rooms decorated in a nautical theme. The staff is friendly and you are welcome with a generous glass of wine at check-in. Bikes available. Definitely recommended!

We decided to stay in San Fransisco for Memorial Day weekend. We arrived at the hotel very early (11:30am) when check outs were still in process. Rob - the front desk manager went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and were provided a room as soon as possible. Additionally, we received complementary flavored water and a bottle of champagne 'for our inconvenience'...we were the ones that showed up early. Rob didn't have to do any of that but he did. The location is second to none! If you are considering booking this hotel DO IT!!!!! Read less

A great discovery! After many business trips to San Francisco I finally found a perfect stay. Extremely convenient location, thoughtful staff, charming & well kept facilities. I highly recommend this over the higher priced and larger options in the city.

Some of the Staff were very nice. Stylish design. Walking distance to Ferry Building, some fantastic restaurants. Very eco-conscious. Cons: Tiny room. No appetizers with afternoon wine -- just wine. Found some blood or food (?) on our comforter (left a note for housekeeping.) Wiped off blood or lipstick (?) from the bathroom door. Windows were spotty. Wi-Fi was terrible. Check Out did not inquire as to how we enjoyed our stay so I did not mention any of the above. Would we stay here again? No. Read less
