Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great Views and Awesome Stay

This was a great location and stay for a staycation I had with my significant other. I emailed the general manger prior to our stay notifying him that we were celebrating a birthday. Both him and his assistant replied promised to upgrade us if possible. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a high floor corner room with amazing views of the city. I… Read more
This was a great location and stay for a staycation I had with my significant other. I emailed the general manger prior to our stay notifying him that we were celebrating a birthday. Both him and his assistant replied promised to upgrade us if possible. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a high floor corner room with amazing views of the city. I realize my reservation of a 1 King bdr didn't warrant any upgrades but they still made this accommodation. Staff were communicative prior to check in and also notified our room was ready 2 hours before our check in time. Read less

Some say that the Grand Hyatt brand is a dying breed. Grand Hyatt San Francisco is a prime example of why they will eventually go away. Some say that the Grand Hyatt brand is a dying breed. Grand Hyatt San Francisco is a prime example of why they will eventually go away. I’m more than unimpressed with this dated property that passed its prime years (maybe decades) ago. It feels abandoned and neglected - like a monument to a dying era of hotels - with a skeleton crew doing their best to keep it working. Don’t call front desk from your room since no one will answer. Ever. Anyone can walk into the hotel, get in one of the 8 elevators and reach any room, at any time. No security of any kind. Restaurants, lounge, gym closed - although San Francisco resumed indoors dining last month and gyms are open in the city. How long will take for hotels to follow suit? Self parking at a city garage across the street is dangerous and it costs $51 if you pay through the hotel or $45 directly. There was homeless people riding bikes in the garage around 1am when we returned to the hotel. Breakfast for Globalists is a $15 Starbucks gift certificate. No comments. Apparently Hyatt’s JDV properties in SF are the best option in the city. Read less

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Good location but super noisy rooms

We could hear every word that the families said in the adjoining room as there is a huge cutout under the doors connecting the rooms. It is a shame that when the hotel is not near capacity that they cram people into adjoining rooms like this.

Nice place in the middle of the city which is walking distance to a variety of shopping and good places to eat. Public transportation is very close and staff is always waiting out front to assist and greet you each time. Parking is across the street and security is walking around so I parked and felt safe walking to my car.
