The hotel

This boutique-style hotel comes with a unique attraction – a world-famous nightlife venue. Named one of ‘The World’s Hottest Nightclubs’ by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine in its opening year, Infusion Lounge is a high-tech, high-energy venue that promises what it calls a 4D experience: a place to ‘dine, drink, dance, dream’. The club, with its world-class DJs and sleek décor, doubles up as an upscale restaurant, with a sophisticated Asian-inspired menu. While Hotel Fusion’s well-appointed guestrooms feature warm décor, inspired by an East meets West concept, in honour of the city’s multicultural make up and the hotel’s name. The room was the smallest we've stay in during our trip and the beds are only double but it had everything we needed. The location is great and very close to Union Square. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Upon arriving in the lobby, a musty smell about knock my husband and myself over. Upon arriving in the lobby, a musty smell about knock my husband and myself over. After checking in we went up to our room and once again was blown away by an unpleasant odor in the hall leading to our room. We couldn’t place what kind of smell it was. Musty, old, wet?! Don’t know. We paid almost $300 for our room, so expected a decent room, not palatial, but decent. Once again, disappointment. We walked into a VERY small room, with the bathroom sink in our bedroom. Not in our bathroom, but in our living/sleeping space. We were only there for 3 days, but it was long enough. To bring our stay to an end, we were awoken on our last day by a sound that resembled a sledge hammer, which literally rattled our room. We thought they were doing work next door, but the only thing that was out our window was an open atrium. We left for the day, only to return 8 hours later to still hear the sound. It wasn’t as loud, but loud enough that we had to keep our window ac unit on to drown it out. We had a maintenance worker come up to check it out at 9pm. He really couldn’t explain what it was. We were offered another room, but being after 9pm and our last night, we were in no mood to gather and essentially pack all our stuff just to move for one night. All in all, it was a place to stay, but that was about it. We wouldn’t stay again, even though the price was reasonable for the area. Read less

This hotel had a lot going for it. Centrally located very near Union Square, nice helpful staff, good bar to have a nightcap, nice feel about the place and almost boutiquey. And reasonably priced. And my sheets were spotlessly clean. However, my room decor was tired and needed a makeover. The idea of recreating the Far East was a good one, but dark brown bamboo and everything else really doesn't work. My room was dark and small (only one armchair in a double room), it took me ages to work out that the coffee machine could give me hot water. Why have kettles gone out of fashion. And only 2 coffee pods (I don't count decaf). And worst of all my simple breakfast was obviously difficult to fulfil. Is it so difficult to make a soft boiled egg? Read less
