The hotel

Put yourself slap-bang in the middle of some of San Francisco’s most fashionable theatres, restaurants, and sights. The boutique Marker Hotel is a great base — and its energy matches its setting. It was built in 1910 but you can still see its ‘Beaux Arts’ beauty in the lobby’s floor-to-ceiling fireplace and grand marble staircase. The hotel’s anything but olde-worlde though, with little touches like WiFi, and a Hydration Station providing fruit and herb infused water on tap.

Where is it

In the Tenderloin/Lower Nob Hill area of San Francisco, near Union Square’s shopping, the theatre district, museums, and endless dining. The hotel is also close to the Financial District and Moscone Convention Center. Transfer time from San Francisco International airport: 15 minutes.

201 rooms and suites on 7 floors. In-room Yoga & Wellness Kits available (on request, subject to availability). Queen Rooms have 1 king-size or 1 queen-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Deluxe Rooms with 1 king-size bed, 1 queen-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Junior Suites feature a living room and bedroom with 1 king-size bed and 1 queen-size sleeper sofa, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Tratto (restaurant and bar serving rustic Italian fare, open for breakfast, dinner and drinks, with daily happy hour). Complimentary morning tea and coffee (in lobby Living Room, 7:00-10:00am). Great smell in the lobby kind agents and door man’s the valet were lovely. Would stay here again……..

This charming hotel had old-school charm and friendly staff. The gym in the Lower Lobby was exceptional. There were ice machines and exceptional filtered water dispensers for refilling water bottles. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the mini-fridge convenient. Coffee provided each morning near the lobby. Could not ask for a better… Read more

I stayed at the Marker in April 2024 and found the hotel to be fantastic. Very nice, updated rooms. Windows that open to the exterior for fresh air, filtered water and ice on every floor. Best of all are the gas fireplaces downstairs. One is in the big open air room and the other in the private library. Free coffea in the AM and an excellent… Read more
I stayed at the Marker in April 2024 and found the hotel to be fantastic. Very nice, updated rooms. Windows that open to the exterior for fresh air, filtered water and ice on every floor. We had a great time staying at the Marker. Its location is perfect for exploring San Francisco. Transportation is easy to reach and the staff is very courteous. The hotel itself is beautiful. We loved the very cosy lobby with fireplaces where we can relax and even catch up with work when needed.
