I found the check-in staff slightly indifferent and uninterested in the fact that there was an error in my booking suggesting that I would need to sort it out myself. The room itself was clean but in need of some maintenance. As other reviewers have noted, the noise from adjoining rooms was an issue. The AV facilities during the conference were plentiful and embarrassing. For NZ guests note that the hotel does not exchange NZ dollars, I was directed to Travelex, a metro ride away at Union Station. The most helpful and friendly staff were the two guys who changed the batteries in my TV remote control. All in all, pretty average with room for improvement. Read less

Overpriced, poor front desk competency and no bar fridge for expensive property. Also a significant walk from Mall in Washington. Unless at a conference, look elsewhere. The conference site was bizarre in floor plan, and the AV regularly failed speakers.

A standard conference hotel. Fairly limited on-site eating and drinking options. Could use an upgrade but nothing too shabby. One benefit is that its a modest walk to Dupont Circle and the capital for those looking for a little excercise.

Stayed recently for the second time in a year at the Washington Hilton, this time for a large international conference. While the basic attributes of the hotel are functional (clean rooms, free wireless for Hilton Honors members, coffee maker in the rooms, decent exercise facilities, etc.), there were many notable deficits. Rooms were not ready for check in, sometimes not until late afternoon; AV run by the hotel in many of the conference rooms was relatively dysfunctional; valet parking team was friendly but did not know how to drive manual so a car was stuck half blocking the entry way circle until I (as a guest) helped to move the car, and other minor deficiencies. That said the staff working the front desk and the concierge were very helpful and friendly. The Presidential hall with pictures of all the former US Presidents and their first ladies is worth a visit. Fascinating to look at the evolution of clothes and physiognomy over time. Read less

The room was clean. I liked that they text you to ask about your stay and how they can improve. You can communicate using the Hilton Honors app or via text. What I didn't like was that you can hear the noise from the other room or the upstairs. Soundproofing is bad. They also didn't have makeup remover wipes which other hotel chains have like Marriott or Hyatt. However, they have slippers and toothbrush but didn't give us toothpaste. Overall, it was just an okay stay. Great customer service via text and app though and I appreciate the late checkout given to us. Read less
