We spent 5 nights here and absolutely loved it! So close to Yosemite itself and so many fun things to do just at the lodge itself. The lack of TVs in the room and the provision of games, pool, hot tubs, s’mores - all great clean fun! Our 8-year old still tells everyone that Rush Creek is where we went on vacation (and forgets we had 10 nights in… Read more

We stayed here for two nights (a Friday and Saturday) while visiting Yosemite. We really loved the location and the staff here. The rooms were also good sized and the showers were great. Also, having laundry facilities down the hall from our room with a change machine to get quarters was fantastic. The onsite restaurant was really good (we ate in the bar for dinner both nights and had a great time chatting with the bartenders!). We were surprised by just how many kids there were at the resort (that's on us for not realizing it was such a family resort when we booked). If you're hoping for a relaxing day by the pool, you're probably not in the right place, as it was so packed the entire time we were there that we decided to just hang out at the bar or on our room's patio instead (keep in mind, we were there on a weekend during what may be spring break time in the area so it may not always be that crazy). We were also really looking forward to spending some time at the spa but it was booked for a private event the one full day we were there which was a bummer, so keep that in mind when you come that it could be booked out. The photos of it looked incredible so we would love to try it! We would still come back because the location is fantastic and you can find spots away from the kids if you want them. Just a heads up so you're not surprised like we were. If you DO have kids, they will love this place. Large pool area, all kinds of fun things for them to do, the rec room was HUGE. The cabins they have up from the main hotel building where we stayed looked really great for families or large groups. Definitely recommend for anybody wanting to stay close to Yosemite Valley. Also, make sure you visit Hetch Hetchy while you're there! It is so close, and we stopped by Rush Creek's sister lodge Evergreen for breakfast on the way to Hetch Hetchy which we may stay at next time just to switch it up a little. Overall a great stay and fantastic staff! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating No TVs and Microwaves - Families may find this challenging, but still worth it if you want to visit Yosemite.

Very nice decor and atmosphere. But very expensive as it’s the only option In the area that is decent, no free breakfast, no TVs in the room and no microwaves was a challenge for us. But we loved the jacuzzi, play area for kids and spa. I would recommend for anyone planning to visit Yosemite - only 40 mins for the the valley.

Improve on: sustainability-they offer compostable plates, cups, forks but don’t have a single composting bin to dispose of these when one is done. When I asked a front desk person he didn’t even know where the compostable stuff should go. This is typical of businesses making claims that they have sustainability goals but their staff is not implementing them. Please compost all your compostable cups. Or go back to reusable cups. Don’t throw them in a garbage. Housekeeping is not done daily. The toilet bowl we had in our room 217 had a rust in it so it looked like someone pooped in there and didn’t flush. Read less

The property itself is beautiful; the room was spacious and well-appointed. Other guests have commented on the beds - we found them fine. The gas fire in the main room of the villa's master bedroom really added to the cosy feel. The unavoidable issues are the food and the tempo of the service. The food is uninspiring and brutally expensive (US$20++ for a burger). Worst of all, it's inedible. It would be a fair challenge to say that (a) it's a premium property; and (b) it's not exactly near to things, so of course it's expensive - these would be compelling arguments, but for the fact that its sister property, the even more remote Evergreen Lodge, is serving up a far higher standard of food, more creatively, at 70% of the cost. On the tempo of service: this property is suffering from terrible staffing issues. These issues are making servers harassed, and you can expect to wait 90 minutes for your food to arrive - and even then, it may be incomplete. The property made no proactive effort to rectify these issues while we were present. To the owners of this property. I feel terrible for your poor service staff, who must come in every day knowing that they face another shift of understaffing and customer complaints. Some members of your team are doing heroic work. This comment isn't directed at them - it's directed at whoever is strangling this beautiful property by under-resourcing the team. Read less
