If you are looking for an upscale hotel with high-level amenities, BUT one that is also family-friendly, then this is the place. PROS: The grounds and rooms were immaculate, the food was delicious (albeit expensive), and the amenities were spot-on! There were games for the whole family to enjoy, fire-pits, smores, hiking trails on property, and beautiful views. I had to purchase their hand soap before leaving, it smells amazing! The General Store did offer grab and go food, which was a great option. A few minor cons (these wouldn't be deal-breakers, just something to be aware of): - The food is what my teens describe as "fancy food" - grilled cheese came with roasted veggies inside (much to the chagrin of my teenage son), and it is expensive, so be prepared. The nearest food outside of the hotel is more than 1/2 hour away, so you are limited in options outside the resort. We ate dinner at the restaurant but chose grab and go breakfast options from the General Store. -The beds were extra, extra firm. Again, not a deal breaker, but good to know. After a day of hiking, we really didn't care much though. - Lack of friendliness - I'm used to Disney-level guest relations - greeting guests when they enter the lobby, store, restaurant, this was lacking. Would I return - yes! The location is spectacular:) Read less

We have frequented Yosemite, living in Danville (3 hour drive to valley), at least every 2 years for 30 years. We have stayed in multiple accommodations within and around Yosemite NP (Wawona, Obama family cottage at the Ahwahnee, Yosemite Falls Lodge, Evergreen Lodge, Lee Vining, ++) We do not camp but we love to hike! With unseasonably warm temps for late October and the uncertainty of the evil critter (Covid) protocol constraints, we elected to try out the relatively new Rush Creek Lodge for 2 nights. Our choice was a terrific experience given one of our many enjoyable routines is to ride bicycles in the valley with a picnic (first day) and hike the Cathedral Lakes Trail in Tuolumne Meadows (second day). The logistically convenient, 1 mile away Big Oak Flat entrance gate, splits these lengthy disparate destinations after a few miles upon entering the park entrance. ALL fantastic as usual with a few unexpected California fire-smoke caveats which are not relevant to this review! ALL Rush Creek personnel along with the newness of the property really made our stay very enjoyable and a strong recommendation for other travelers. In particular our servers for breakfast and dinner were an absolute delight along with the very tasty food offerings. We enjoyed happy hour cocktails on our 3rd floor balcony overlooking the family oriented pool and play areas. Slight con but a Rush Creek personnel plus: wedding revelers were a bit over zealous both in the early and later evening (I go to sleep at 10, you be the judge), so my request for a "noise" adjustment was readily and professionally honored. Again, I cannot praise the entire staff enough, during these difficult times, making our Yosemite environs stay another great experience for one of the most beautiful locales on the planet! Read less

Got upgraded to a two bedroom villa which was perfect for our family. There were tons to do for the kids - from the hot tub, to the playground and their giant slide and ziplines, to the outdoor games, and the game room, to the arts & crafts activities - the kids were never bored! We didn't even get to explore the nearby hikes, which we planned on doing, but just didn't have the time to do with Yosemite right around the corner. The accommodations were modern, clean and comfy. The lodge felt very safe re: COVID. Everyone wore masks and there was hand sanitizer everywhere. Spent most of our time outdoors or in our own villa. Food was all take out and there is plenty of seating outdoors - though it got chilly for dinner so we took food to eat in our room. While we were there the power went out to heat the pool, so we weren't able to use the pool - only the hot tub was available - which honestly, was better since it was wintertime! The food is delicious (we were pleasantly surprised!) but got tiresome after 5 days, so we ate our last dinner at their sister property Evergreen Lodge nearby, which was lovely! We had a great, safe stay, the kids loved it & can't wait to return! Read less

First time visiting. Highly recommend. Beautiful spaces with an upscale, western decor. Wonderful outdoor spaces with both gas and wood burning fire pits and patio heaters. Take out food was delicious with a good variety of choices. Cool bar. Very close to park entrance and perfect for relaxing after a long hard hike. Hot tubs very nice too
