Niyama’s twin islands offer up the luxury of choice, from chic serenity on the isle of Chill to the adrenaline and excitement on the isle of Play — or a combination of both as your mood dictates! The resort serves up one of the best dining scenes in the Maldives with no less than seven restaurants, including four unique options: Nest is a one-of-a-kind dining concept in the Maldives featuring four cuisines of Asia, including Teppanyaki, Thai, Chinese and Indonesian; Tribal offers a uniquely authentic cultural experience of African, Central and South American tribal cuisines; Edge provides exclusive overwater dining, accessible by boat, featuring delicate Indian Ocean flavours and fresh local seafood; and, below Edge, Subsix Underwater Playground is hidden out in the ocean and six metres below the waterline. There are also two all-day dining restaurants, two bars, a coffee shop and personalised destination dining options, both on and off shore. An outdoor fun area has a playground, trampoline, splash park and stage, whilst Munch, the mini gourmet kitchen, offers cooking classes and food and drinks for their different tastes. Where is it

One destination across two linked islands in the South Western Atoll of Dhaalu in the Maldives. Transfer time for Malé International Airport: 45 minutes by seaplane. Please note: seaplane transfers to/from your resort will only operate in daylight hours. Please ensure your international flights into and out of Malé allow for this schedule. Enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks in the Niyama lounge at the seaplane terminal.

Beach Villas have direct beach access with sunrise views, open-air bathroom and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. 


Half Board option: Includes breakfast and dinner at Epicure or BLU restaurants (with the exception of special dinners, lobster and seafood platters). Guests dining à la carte in Nest, Tribal or Edge for dinner or destination dining (not applicable to free Half Board upgrades) enjoy $95 net food credit per adult.

Full Board option: Includes breakfast at Epicure, lunch at Epicure, Dune and The Deli and dinner at Epicure or BLU restaurants (with the exception of special dinners, lobster and seafood platters). Guests dining à la carte in Tribal, Edge, Dune, Nest, Subsix or destination dining enjoy $40 net food credit for lunch and $95 net food credit for dinner.

Please note: Drinks are not included in Half Board and Full Board options. Children under 12 years receive 3 complimentary meals a day from the children's menu and buffet. If dining from à la carte, 50% discount off adult price applies. Half Board and Full Board not available 24 Dec or 31 Dec, however lunch (optional) may be booked.

Deluxe Beach Pool Villas have direct beach access with sunset views, private pool, open-air bathroom and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Over Water Pool Villas have a private infinity pool and stairs leading from the private deck straight into the lagoon, with 1 king-size bed sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Deluxe Over Water Pool Villas are more spacious over-water studios, with the addition of a Jacuzzi as well as private pool, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Family Beach Pool Villas have an indoor/outdoor floor plan, living area with sofa bed, direct beach access, sunrise views and a private 'family sized' plunge pool, sleeping maximum 4 adults and 1 child.

Deluxe Family Beach Pool Villas have an indoor/outdoor floor plan, living area with sofa bed, direct beach access, sunset views and a private 'family sized' plunge pool, sleeping maximum 4 adults and 1 child.

A range of 1-3 bedroom pavilions are also available, all with sunset views, direct beach or lagoon access and private infinity pools with jacuzzi.

Hard to put into words our family trip, it was truly out of this world, the island is stunning and the facilities are just incredible, we have 2 young boys who wouldn’t leave the kids club, the worlds best kids club and the staff as so caring and organize about 10 different activities a day across different age groups, the resort is out of this world, the attention to detail is unreal, our thakuru Gia was the loveliest woman, my kids cried when they said bye to her, she is so caring and went above and beyond to help us, the surf is the best set up, amazing surf shack watching the waves it’s true paradise, the surf guides are the best you can possibly imagine, me I’ve been a beginner for 10 years and after just 1 session with Nathan, the surf director, I got my first left at Vodi and was on cloud 9, his expertise, wave knowledge and patience is world class and I’m so grateful to him and his team for what was a dream come true for me, the restaurants are absolutely stunning, Tribal for us is our favorite restaurant in the world, stunning, and every other restaurant is also amazing, we loved every minute of Niyama, the staff, the food, the energy, the stunning resort with doesn’t distract from the natural landscape of the island, we will be back xxxx Read less

Everything was above and beyond except for the food. Most of the restaurants there are overpriced with no quality or taste. Customer service is beyond Dreams. Really enjoyed the stay.

If this was a review simply about the staff, then it would be 5 star because they are all incredible, always have a smile on their faces, and cannot do enough for you. However, having travelled to the Maldives 9 times over the last 25 years, I can tell you now that the owners of this resort desperately need to start spending some money updating and upgrading villas and common areas, especially given the ever increasing prices here [as well as the additional 27.6% in taxes which always seem to be increasing too]. I stayed here two years ago in 2022 and spent a lot of that trip disappointingly pointing out failures in standards and broken/malfunctioning items in our villa, and was assured by management at the time that this was because of a post covid lag in updating the resort. I was assured then that monies had been released and upgrades were imminent, so I was incredibly disappointed to see that 2 years on, and with a much higher price tag yet again, that the owners have seemingly failed to do any of the promised upgrades and repairs. Also, when paying for a family villa [which seems to be more than twice the price of TWO normal villas, despite occupying a much smaller space than two villas], it would be nice to have a proper bed in the second [lounge] room, instead of an incredibly hard and uncomftable convertible sofa bed. Our family of four, with two children, recently spent 10 days at Niyama Private Islands in the Maldives. This resort offered the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, making it an ideal place for a family vacation. The atmosphere at Niyama is wonderfully friendly and relaxed, which made us feel right at home from the start. The range of activities on offer was impressive. Our days were filled with surfing, snorkeling and just relaxing in the beautiful surroundings. The surf center, run by Nate, was a standout. Nate worked with professional surfer Brad Gerlach to enhance the surfing experience. The culinary options at Niyama are vast and varied, ensuring that every meal was a delight. Imran's daily delivery of fresh coconuts, along with his demonstration of climbing trees to collect them, was a real treat for the children. The attention to detail in the housekeeping was truly impressive. Muneer, who took care of our room, went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did he keep our room immaculately clean, he added thoughtful decorations and even replaced a lost Frisbee for the kids, which was a delightful surprise. It's the little things at Niyama that make the stay so enjoyable. One night we returned to a beautifully decorated bed, and upon arrival we were greeted with beers and snacks. The popcorn machine in our room and the daily ice cream were a hit with the whole family and added a special touch to our vacation experience. Our Thakuru, Imthy, did an excellent job of organizing our stay. His efforts made every aspect of our vacation seamless and stress-free, enhancing our overall experience at the resort. Every aspect of Niyama Private Islands ensured that our vacation was both memorable and magical. It's a phenomenal choice for families looking for a luxurious yet adventurous Maldives experience.
