Earl Buchanan (Manager at Ocean Eden) always strives to make every single guests experience better than the last. Earl is the absolute best. He’s the most genuine and kind hearted individual, one may ever come across. He really wants every single guests to enjoy their stay and experience at the resort. The entire staff at Ocean Eden Bay really strives to make everyone feel like they are home away from home. I frequently visit Jamaica however, I’ve never visited the same resort twice until, Ocean Eden Bay. I highly recommend this resort. Every staff member, especially Earl Buchanan; will make you feel like you’re home away from home. If I could rate this resort, I’d give it a 10 out 10. Every thing about this place is amazing! My wife and I just returned from 9 blissful days at the Ocean Eden Bay Adult only resort in Jamaica. We opted for the privilege ocean front package (room 3341). Our check in was smooth and timely. Our concierge, Ryan, helped us with our luggage to the room, while pointing out some of the hotel’s features along the way. The resort was not as big, as we originally thought, and had no problems navigating. Next door was the Ocean Coral which is the sister resort for families. When staying at the Eden (adult) side, you have access to all the restaurants and services on both resorts, including the privilege restaurant (which is a la carte for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for the privilege guests. All of the staff we encountered were friendly, and always going out of their way to please you and making sure you are having a great time. We received calls almost on a daily basis from a representative from the privilege department checking in to see if we needed anything. ROOM : The room was quite large, clean, with a stocked bar & fridge, with lots of closet space, bath robes and slippers. We also had a jacuzzi soaker tub on the balcony (which we never used). We did have a few occasions where we had to call down to have towels or face cloths sent up, also bottles of water as we drink a lot of water. Christmas, who was very friendly and helpful, made we got our water on at least one occasion that we saw him. We got a turn down service every night, with chocolates on the pillows; not sure if this was only for the privilege guests. FOOD : We ate at all the restaurants except the French, Route 66 and the teppanyaki. The Marlin and Sugar cane were our favourites. Also, the Indian restaurant was good. Thursday night is Jamaican night in the Captain’s market (buffet) and they had several grilling stations that prepared fresh fish, shrimp, beef, and also a pasta station. The food was very good with many options, so you definitely can’t go hungry. Also have to mention the jerk shack, ice cream and coffee shop on the family side, which were all great with very good service! We ate at the privilege restaurant on our first night. It was not busy, and our server, Nordia was very attentive. However, it took a long time for us to get our food (not a fault of our server), so we never went back for dinner. We did however have lunch one day in the privilege and the service was much better. ENTERTAINMENT : The Bob Marley show at the Senses dinner show was very good (as was the meal, and wine with dinner), as was the Michael Jackson show. There were shows with professional dancers and live music every night on both resorts, so you’re always entertained. There was also the foam party on Thursday nights which was quite fun and entertaining to watch. Also wanted to make a special mention to the steel band which was very good & entertaining, with multi-talented musicians. They received a standing ovation from the guests in the theater the night we attended, and everyone was tipping them in appreciation of a great performance! BARS : The service at all the bars were very good. There was top shelf liquor at all bars. There was no Hennessey anywhere on the resort one night, but had it available the next night. The bar tender in the lobby bar (so sorry I didn’t get his name) remembered me and that I had asked for the Hennessey the previous night, which I was so impressed that he remembered! We did not use the pool bar or the pool, as guests would be in the pool for hours, drinking and never leaving, so I’m sure there was a lot of urinating happening in the pool. I never noticed anyone cleaning the pool after closing so not sure how clean the pool water was. The grounds were meticulously maintained, and looked very nice. The landscaping staff worked very hard in the hot sun to keep the place in tip top shape. The pool was always very lively with the “blue team” entertainment staff working so hard to keep the guests entertained. There was always music playing all day long at the pool with a lively vibe. There is also a lazy river on the family side which we never got to try, but looked like the people that did were enjoying it. There were ample seating around the pool and seem like you can always find a chair, especially in the privilege section (where they served you drinks). Towels were plentiful. The resort has free WIFI and their app that you can download on to your phone and use to book your restaurant reservations, or room service. We tried the room service for breakfast one morning, which is included with the privilege option, and the service was excellent! Our food arrived in a timely manner and the food was hot and fresh. We ordered the breakfast via the app as well. I found this app to be very convenient as you did not have to keep going all the way to the lobby to reserve restaurants. One peev I had immediately upon arrival, is that we were approached by Robertson, who asked us to attend a 1 hour information session about the resort, which we agreed to. Our fault. It turned out to be one of those aggressive “time share” sales meetings where they try to get you to buy into the H10 brand membership (I will attach a copy of the presentation to this review so you can be prepared for what you’re getting yourself into). We did, however, receive a nice beach bag with 2 insulated mugs for attending. One major flaw with this resort is the beach. The beach had lots of rocks, large boulders, seaweeds in the water, was not very big, and did not have much space for seating. Good thing we had the privilege feature so we could sit in both the privilege and non-privilege areas on the beach. Also there are guys cleaning all the sargassum that gets washed on the beach, all day long, in the hot sun! And if you give them a couple buck$ they will bring you beach chairs to wherever you want on the beach, which was very much appreciated. There are resident cats on the resort, wish we had brought some cat treats. But they are well fed by all the guests! Just wanted to make some special mentions to some of the staff who really made our vacation enjoyable. First off, Debrena in the Captain’s market, who took care of us for breakfast; she knew our names and how we liked our coffee every day (lots of milk for my wife, little milk for me 😊); on her day off she made sure to tell the other servers to take care of us 😊; we connected with her immediately// Nordia in the privilege restaurant//Ryan our butler for going above and beyond and always friendly//Sofia in the Sugar cane//Morris in the Marlin, also Moses (I think that’s his name) who manages the Marlin and the privilege restaurants//Shenay in the Indian restaurant//Desroy in the steak house//Damarlie & Chantol for the great beach drinks and towel service//Adrian & Jeffarine in the privilege bar for always taking care of our drinks (and water) for us//Shanise in the Captain’s market. There are more people but I did not get their names….sorry. In conclusion, this is a great resort, with great staff, food and entertainment, and we are already planning to return again. The only negative for us was the beach, but we still swam in the beach (MUST WEAR WATER SHOES!) and did not let it bother us. Just go with an open mind. Be respectful of the staff, they work so very hard to ensure you have a great experience. And you will have an enjoyable experience, as we did. Read less

We are H10 Premium Travel members, and we expected a certain level of service, accommodations and professionalism. We booked this hotel per our agreement 3 months prior and made a request for King Bed, swim up room and ocean view. We arrived and found none of the above! We were shown a 2nd floor room that was neither "privileged" or swim up. It had 2 queen beds, and no other amenities afforded a Premium Club member. We refused this room and went back to the reception desk to voice our concerns and respectfully ask for the room we originally requested. We were told the hotel was full and no room was available to that description, which turned out to be untrue, hotel was @ 50% capacity at best. They then gave us another 2nd floor room that was not a privileged room and they hurriedly brought in the items that in their opinion, changed a run of the mill hotel room into 1st class accommodations. This time a King bed, but the room was filthy. My wife needed to clean the bathroom and toilet just so she could use it. We called housekeeping immediately. After 30 minutes housekeeping arrived and serviced our room. Let it be known that we attempted to speak with management or an H10 representative and was told the office was closed! At 12 noon on a Tuesday? We expressed our concerns with our concierge, and she assured us she would speak with her boss to right this injustice! Crickets. Later that evening, someone from guest services called and asked how our check in and our first day was. I told her the same story and like the concierge, assured me she would be in contact with management. Again, crickets! Later that evening, @ 10:30pm and then again @ 11pm we received calls from the hotel front desk requesting payment. You see in all the confusion the clerk did not secure payment from us. They demanded we go down to pay the tab! The second call they said they were sending someone up to our room with a credit card reader!! I told them no, that it is11 and we will be down in the morning! How rude! It gets better......next day I went to the H10 Premium Office to speak with a representative about our misfortunes so far. I was very adamant about an upgrade we felt we deserved due to the lack of respect and total lack of professionalism shown by the Ocean Eden Bay staff. I was asked to wait for a manager to come sit with me to discuss the ordeal and was left waiting 15 minutes with no one returning. Needless to say, our vacation was off to an underwhelming start. After telling our story to any "official" of the hotel that would listen, we gave up! That night as we left for dinner, I closed the door behind us and turned the handle and gentle pushed on the door to insure it was locked, the door swung open. Unable to lock and secure the door was unsafe, troublesome and just another example of a vacation gone very wrong! We waited 2 hours and after multiple calls to the lobby a maintenance gentleman came and changed out the entire lock set! Nice! No one ever called to follow up on this either! Yes, crickets once again. In conclusion, H10 Premium Travel Club and this resort needs better management and business training. Stay away from H10 and this brand. Note: At checkout we were asked to rate the hotel 1-5. We both said 1! It was then they wanted us to speak with another member of management! Our answer? Crickets! Read less

Two thumbs down NEVER AGAIN! We arrived at the hotel with another couple and the four of us were told they over booked the rooms and they had no rooms for us! I couldn't believe it. We booked this trip through West Jet a year in advance. They transferred us to another hotel and then lost our luggage. We were told we could come back the next day at 12pm and they would have our rooms ready. We waited all day back and forth to front desk. Finally after we got super mad they gave us a room at 7pm. What a waste of two days. Currently waiting to hear back from West Jet as I am demanding a refund! Read less
