The hotel

Sat on a peninsula in the south-east of Mauritius is the Preskil Island Resort. With beach vibes and a cool, relaxed atmosphere, you're sure to feel right at home once you step through the front doors. With a luxurious spa, an infinity-edge pool, and dining on the beachfront, this is paradise at its best. But if you're after some fun-filled days, there's a load of water sports, plus a kids club for little ones, to enjoy.

Where is it

In the south east of Mauritius, on a peninsula between the historic village of Mahébourg and the Blue Bay Marine Park. Transfer time from Mauritius International airport: 15 minutes.

Hotel information

214 rooms and suites. All with private terrace or balcony, air-conditioning, TV, mini-bar*, tea and coffee-making facilities, safe, telephone, and hairdryer. Superior Rooms are 485 sq ft and are on the ground and first floors with views of the gardens and ocean, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults and 1 child.

All Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast and lunch at Rendez-Vous, and dinner at Rendez-Vous or Mosaic (reservations required), unlimited local spirits, wines, draught beers and soft drinks from 10:00am-11:30pm at the bar, and a selection of drinks in the in-room mini-bar (refilled once daily).

Premium All Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast and lunch at Rendez-Vous, and lunch and dinner at Rendez-Vous, Mosaic or 1810 (reservations required), a selection of premium spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks from 10:00am-11:30pm at the bar, and every item in the in-room mini-bar (refilled once daily), 1 complimentary lobster night (once per person, per stay), and complimentary 30-minute massage at the Banyan Spa (once per person, per stay).

Garden Family Rooms are 570 sq ft and are on the ground and first floors in the hotel's family area, with 2 separate rooms and 2 queen-size beds plus rollaway bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 3 children.

Deluxe Rooms are 545 sq ft and are on the ground and first floors with sea views, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults. or 2 adults and 1 teen/child/infant.

Deluxe Family Rooms are 625 sq ft and are on the ground and first floors with sea views, with 2 separate rooms and 2 queen-size beds plus rollaway bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 3 children.

Prestige Rooms are 485 sq ft and are on the ground floor with views of the sea, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 teen/child/infant.

Junior Suites are 890 sq ft and are located on the first floor with views of the ocean, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 teen/child/infant.

3 restaurants; Rendez-Vous (buffet, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus brunch on Sundays), 1810* (beachfront dining, open for lunch and dinner), Mosaïc (à la carte Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, open for dinner). Medley Bar. 1810 Beach Bar.

Infinity-edge swimming pool. Family corner with swimming pool. Banyan Spa* with hammam*, Jacuzzis and bath, and a hair and beauty salon. Gym. Water sports* including pedal boats, stand-up paddle boards, snorkelling, windsurfing and water-skiing. Kitesurfing and kite foiling lessons*. Football. Volleyball. Tennis and petanque courts. Family of 5, very very good food, especially the indian/mauritian sauces and fish. Breakfast there is everything there really, i don't understand some of the few negative comments. If some people say stuff a bit too slow, well, yes, you might need to wait 5 - 10mins for a beer in a rush hour, but be a human please. Besides, are you in such a hurry??? If you have any open wishes, you just talk to the manager BALRAM who is allways there and he will do everything to fulfill them be assured! I asked him i was missing a curry one day, next day we had a huge extra curry done just for us (that was last year) !! The dimensions of the hotel are perfect, situated on a private island connected to a land, large garden super well kept, the hotel not too small, not too large, there is a beautiful Launge to hang around all day with cocktails and beers included anytime... Very very friendly kindergarten staff, you can leave you kids there while going to scubadive or wingfoil (within the hotels perimeter), so absolutely practical. Coral reef just 50m off the room, you can swim to an island 1km away in relatively shallow waters, no wishes unfulfilled.We had a small problem with airconditioning, however got our room changed (thanks Linda) and then there were no flaws at all and we are coming again. My family and I passed a good moment and very satisfied on our first stay at Preskil Island Resort with nice seaviews,the foods & drinks were excellent unfortubately due to bad weather we have not been able to do the interesting sea activities.The welcoming was very nice and friendly,firstly from the security guards and secondly from all the staffs especially from Mr.Teelwah,the General Manager,who assisted us personally with professionalism and also from Joan,Rakesh & Juliana at front desk and also we cannot forget Eleanore who is excellent in her work to entertain us a lot with her nice & funny chat.Wish all the teams all the best and recommend anyone!!From Erick Sew,David & Lam family.
