The only good thing about this hotel is the views. Everything else at this hotel was not satisfying.
This hotel was not the original hotel, my friends and I were supposed to stay at for our spring break as teachers, we did not want a hotel with kids. We book the Royalton Chic Adults Only, the construction was not done and no one ever reach out to let us know that they transferred us the Royalton Antigua, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort. We were still happy that they were able to accommodate us at their sister hotel due this being the only time we could go away.
We were offered nothing for our inconvenience because they said "this hotel is technically more expensive than the one we booked", but in our eyes it was not because it was a very family oriented hotel.
-Rooms- smelled like mold and the air conditioner would turn off when you are not in the room, so you walk in to a warm room because of this the room got very humid and the floor near the sink and toilet would alway be damp.
The build hallways were not air conditioned and water would be leaking from the walls making the floor slippery.
-The staff: the staff at the buffet were nice and friendly and most of the staff at the restaurants. The food was okay at the buffet better than some other all-inclusive places I have been. Most of the other staff at the hotel were nice.
Most (a few were friendly) the bar tending staff were horrible and unfriendly. They would not smile or acknowledge when you were standing at the bar. It would take them forever to take your order. A lot of the time you would be waiting more than 30 minutes to get a drink. I can understand it if they were busy, but this even happened when they were not busy. One women bartender at the white party rolled her eyes and head when my friends asked nicely for a drink. Everyone around was though it was very rude and my friend did nothing to deserve that treatment.
Restaurants- The restaurants were okay. The Stake restaurant was my favorite.
Score- what their late night bar, that is supposed to be opened until 2:00am. On our last night we decided to stay out with some friends we met on this vacation. I walk in to the bar to order one more drink at 1:20, the women working that night told me the bar was closed because she need to start cleaning, so the Score's is really not opened until 2:00am.
There is a big bug problem at this resort. There were flies all over the buffet area (inside and outside). It was disgusting trying the eat and have to constantly be batting away flies. My friend was constantly be bit by mosquitoes or sand flies, so bring bug spray because the one at the gift shop was $50.
The only other thing that made this trip okay were the other people vacationing. We meet and a because friends with so many people on this trip. Otherwise my friends and I were very disappointed.
I think that Antigua was a beautiful Island but I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
