Felt even more luxurious as a result. Aesthetic is very much to our liking. Seems unique to the area. South East Asia-inspired. I'm told in part informed by the owner's spouse, of Asian descent. Lush and lovely. Staff was outstanding to a person. Courteous. Solicitous. Professional. Food is above average, especially, per my companion, for an all-inclusive. At least two nights of our stay, special five-course chef special dinner, prepared and introduced by the chef. Very nice. Private beach is pristine. Also had it virtually to ourselves. Well manned. Pool and jacuzzi also lovely. Three nights of live piano bar, with the entertaining and engaging pianist Paul. Shades of Casablanca! Complimentary bottle of champagne provided at our room on our return home the evening for my birthday! Great base from which to enjoy all Negril and western Jamaica has to offer. If you're looking for a lush and private or romantic getaway, Covid-time or otherwise, Jamaica on your list and Negril your kind of Jamaica experience, Sunset @ The Palms should be your spot. Been to Jamaica many times; Negril several. From now on, it will be @ Sunset. Needless to say, Covid protocols in full effect. We felt in good hands, literally and figuratively. Don't hesitate if you're considering a getaway before things are "back to normal." The water is fine, the people finer! Read less

We are repeat guests and we thought the resort was great just as it was last time. was it different most definitely, the most people on the grounds when were there was 48 and as low as 20. Temperature checks at every meal for guests masks required throughout, I never saw an employee without a mask on. It was extremely quiet and peaceful. Yes the bar closed early and not much entertainment but I give all of that a pass. The service was very good, the food was also good, we did miss the variety of the buffet, but they would cook you almost anything you asked of. We ordered room service most morning and ate on our deck while bird watching. Lunch was ate at the beach daily which was fine, by day 6 we had to change it up and got some patties. We also visited Office of Nature next door which was just as good as last time. Our room was kept spotless clean they even folded and stacked our dirty laundry, no need. I felt the housekeeping was better than last time we visited. We had a great room that was quite and we could see the mountains in the distance. Our driver Benji was awesome and the crossing guard his name sips my mind was also wonderful big guy and relatively new to the crew. The people working the front gate were great also. The gentleman that is now in charge of the food service was very thorough and professional, he works very hard. The service in the dinning room was great we loved those girls and always good for a conversation. The bartenders were also good, with so few people you never had to wait on anything. We go to see Paul twice and that is always a treat. I still say hands down they have two of the best masseuses of anywhere I have been. Brenda I need you here in the states. I think everyone needs to take a step back and deep breath when giving feedback about their stay. Yes we are on vacation (spoiled), the people working at the resort have been struggling to feed their families for months, enjoy the best beach in Negril and drink some rum. From our family to the Sunset at the Palms family thank you for all that you do to help us enjoy our time there. You are wonderful and we can't wait to see you again. Read less

This was the best, most relaxing vacation that we have ever taken! Despite the Covid-19 situation, the staff at the Sunset at the Palms was outstanding. The food was terrific, & outstanding service. We love the smaller resorts. We aren’t much on night life, but the piano guy 2 nights was just right and we were still in bed early 😄. Can’t wait… Read more

Having traveled to SATP so many times I expected our recent trip to be a great experience as years past. But the recent experience with SATP’s management was that our needs were an inconvenience to both Managers Kamarla and Romeo. I felt ignored. There was No Respect from Sunsets Management. My wife and I have vacationed at Sunset at the Palms 4 times in the last 7 years. In November of 2020 we took our 5th vacation at Sunset which was greatly anticipated with expectations of how great our trip was going to be, but the trip ended up being an extreme disappointment. Sunset is under new management and the resort is an empty shell of what it once was. Our vacation was not what SSTP’s website promised, was not even close to any of our previous trips experiences and the vacation was not what we paid for! There currently is nothing Sensory or Magical about Sunset at the Palms! Due to COVID there were never more than 20 guests on the property at one time. With such a small amount of people to cater to we expected a fabulous experience as years past, but Customer Service lacked in multiple areas. ******My advice to any Return Guest planning on coming back to Sunset is to find another resort where the management/owners accommodate and care about the guest****** We were asked by the House Keeping Supervisor to write a good review. Unfortunately we could not. I suggest that people viewing this property and looking at the reviews look at the year they were written for things have changed completely from past years to now. Standards have fallen greatly or are nonexistent plus Management’s attention to detail is minimal. There is a great deal of contrast from what was the Sunset’s experience and the current day experience. The previous General Manager, Sharon always ensured excellence and interpersonal interaction with the guest. Excellence, Presence, and a Prompt response, was always a priority. With Sunset’s current management Excellence, Presence, and Promptness are not on the menu! Presently there is an avoidance or reluctance to deliver and execute by multiple levels of management’ to speak directly to the guest or following up with the guest when there are issues that need attention. Issues weren’t resolved! Instead, emails are sent to the guest vacationing on the premises. Sunset’s current management lacks integrity! I don’t read my emails when I am on vacation! Even the Executive team, post our vacation efforts to resolve or complete promises were brushed off and ignored. The grounds are well kept as always. The infrastructure is tired/worn-out and in dire need of repair or replacement. The wait staff generally showed high standards in their service, but the high standards weren’t present in all the wait staff. Several times I requested the COVID Immune boosters’ teas advertised in the Sunset website. I was brushed off or the request was ignored. The food was subpar at best. I tried numerous times to get an over easy egg over nine breakfast, with little luck. The dinner’s quality was on and off. Even at the Chef’s Table the cut of beef was so bad that every bite was a mouthful of fat. Fish dinners smelled/tasted bad and had to be sent back. Multiple meals were sent back. We spoke with multiple levels of management with small improvements but most times the quality would slip back to subpar. Our issues didn’t seem to be important enough to address thoroughly. My wife and I had so many great memories of Sunset. After this most recent vacation our memories will always be tainted. Sunset at the Palms will never be the same in my heart, in my mind, and in Reality! While I may travel back to Negril, I will never travel back to Sunset at the Palms. Read less
