Where is it

Set in Bel Ombre on the southwest coast of Mauritius. Transfer time from Mauritius International Airport: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Please note that if taking a seat in coach this may be longer depending on how many hotel stops are en route.

Hotel information

214 rooms in 3 crescents, set around the swimming pools. All sea oriented with balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, flat-screen satellite TV, kettle and tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe and hairdryer. Standard Rooms with 1 queen-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child/teen.

Board basis options:

Half Board option: includes breakfast and dinner at Show.

Full Board option: includes breakfast at Show, lunch and dinner at either Show or Playa.

All Inclusive option:

- Breakfast: at Show

- Lunch: in the restaurants and picnic baskets for guests on excursions (request to be placed at the reception 24-hours in advance)

- Dinner: at Show and Playa. Guests booked in Tamassa Rooms, get a 20% discount at Playa for lunch and dinner (discount applicable on food only)

- Afternoon tea served every afternoon at BBar

- Drinks (in all restaurants and bars): a wide selection of beverages (soft drinks, tea, coffee, beers, wines, juices, mineral water, cocktails and liquors) are available

- Tea/coffee facilities in room

- Mini-bar: water, juices and soft drinks, beers (replenished once/day)

- Beach service - poolside service – 24-hout room service (tray charges apply)

For guests staying in Superior room, Ocean Superior room, Beach room, Tamassa Family room and Family Suites All-Inclusive starts on arrival and finishes upon departure at the hotel on the last day.

Room upgrades:

Superior Rooms are set within the resorts gardens and have 1 queen-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Beach Rooms have beachfront access, iHome radio with USB music dock, and coffee plunger, with 1 queen-size bed plus rollaway bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child/teen.

Family Deluxe Rooms are interconnecting, with 1 king-size bed, plus bunk beds in a separate, small air-conditioned room with its own toilet, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 3 children or 2 adults, 1 teen and 2 children.

Show Restaurant (open kitchen and buffet breakfasts and dinners), Playa Restaurant (à la carte lunch and dinner on the beach), B-Bar (all-day poolside drinks and lunches, with TV screen), food truck (lunchtime burgers and snacks) and ice cream parlour (open during lunchtimes).

Jalsa resort nightclub - the very first to open in the South of the island (open Wed, Sat. Opening days/hours are subject to change). Outdoor cinema (twice per week, weather permitting).

Huge amazing outdoors with nice garden and pools. Coming to the hotel room wasn't to bad. For a 4⭐️ establishment and for the price you pay "which is not cheap," it should be mint in all aspects. -Part of the room wall paint was cracked and vanity not very tidy. -Entertainment side can do better. -Poor hospitality and customer service inexistant (mainly in restaurant.) -Service very slow, have to chase after staff/department to have things done. There's clearly a lack of training and communication for the staffs. Moreover not to mention we had an all inclusive package but we found than the drink menu was restricted/limited to only certain drinks and most of the time they don't have what you ask for. The room mini bar as well is poorly supply and refill; only with tea and 2 sachet coffee, 2 fizzy drink and 2 beer. No snacks, chocolate...... etc! Definitely won't miss the buffet. Yummy food but too much same same everyday. Fantastic burger truck. Have to review the 4⭐️ rating as it's not to the level standard. It can't be considered as a 4⭐️ resort. Tamassa is one of ze place my kids love to be. Really enjoyed. Been here several times and looking forward to come again. Special thanks to Mrs Dilshaad, Mrs Hemlata, Mrs Suzette, Mr Nishaad, Mr Altaf and all the staffs. Have been to many hotels but Tamassa is z best because of their excellent customer service.
