The hotel

There's a real resort feel to this Mission Bay hotel. On a 14-acre peninsula, the views are quite something, and you’re just steps from the the calm bay waters. Head to the white sandy beach and grab yourself a beach cabana or take a stroll through the lush tropical gardens. The pool is a great spot too and the huge hot tub is just the ticket on a cooler evening. Don't miss an evening cruise around the bay on the Bahia Belle paddle steamer — there’s drinks, live entertainment and views galore.

When I checked in, Ben upgraded my room to something more private and quiet than I’d experienced at a resort. Housekeeping, specifically Maria, helped me with an issue in my room. Every staff member i encountered was friendly and ready to make my stay better. I loved being able to walk everywhere, rent a bike, and take a Lyft to the Ocean Beach Farmer’s Market - on Wednesdays; don’t sleep on this one! All in all, I highly recommend staying here. I will be returning. Read less

Truly a lovely trip through and through! My only unfortunate complaint, and one that is out of Bahia's control is the absurdly loud garbage pick up from the dumpsters just outside of our room. It was certainly one way to wake up every morning. Otherwise 10/10 would come here again! And the seals at the exhibit are precious! Read less

We stayed in one of the ground floor "vintage" rooms (vintage - a word I learned means old and dated). The carpeting was vintage. The room smelled very vintage. The Internet was RIDICULOUS. When I could get a connection, my upload was 2.65Mbps, only 300 times less than my home speed. Do not expect to get any work done or send an email at this hotel. What wasn't vintage was the mold around the tub. We requested another room. They gave us one with mildew under the fridge. Please read the other negative reviews. I've always trusted TripAdvisor, but I believe for the first time that some companies stuff their reviews. I will avoid ANY place that requires longer than a 24 hour cancellation. Read less

had the pleasure of checking in with Chris at the front desk. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the hotel and area. Chad made my experience at the Bahia better than ever expected. The other staff was just as friendly and helpful in every way possible. Highly recommended
