Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Virgin rating

The hotel

Lying on a beautiful, long stretch of private beach, the Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa sits within 400 lush acres and is home to an 18th-century sugar plantation. A popular feature here is the iconic swimming pool but guests (kids' especially) also love the Sugar Mill Falls Waterpark, which is the largest in Jamaica. Why not grab a tube and float down the ‘lazy river’ or try one of the slides. There’s also a daily kids' club, leaving you with time to recharge in the full-service spa, or why not try out the Championship golf course. A variety of restaurant options with fine dining and sophisticated wine lists are on-site, with the newly renovated Rum Factory a particular hit, as is the Three Palms, overlooking the beautifully landscaped golf course.

Greatly enjoyed this relaxing vacation. The views are spectacular and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and the drinks are on point. Such relaxing fun. Attended a wedding, which was wonderfully organized. There was not a dull moment.

Oh Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa.. You have not renovated your rooms since Conrad Hilton was alive. It's really time, LIKE REALLY TIME. It int 1950 anymore. The pool cushions thank god every day for the towels that cover them, becasue those cushions have not seen a bath in decades. You need to get it together. I am not a picky person, but holy decades old! With that being said, the rest of property is lovely, very well maintained. The beach is very clean and kept up with. The Staff is insanely polited and fun. Special mentions, (even though many not mentioned were great as well) The entertainment team was so amazing. Fun, energetic & hard working. Shelly Bartley, Oshane, Shannai, Jameal, Rochelle, Kevesha, Jordan, Zody, the entire crew, just awesome. They made sure to stay connected, engaging and treated you like you were the only guest! Annette & Kerri Ann, two great bartenders, both fantastic! The wonderful amazing lady who serviced our room throughout most of the trip, Paula, did a great job, Michael at the omelete station, everyday made breakfast with a smile and remembered your order, Nishanet at the towel staion, always pleasant , the Entire Seaside crew all day & night, worked their butts off. The food at the resort, super repetitive, but still tasty for the most part. You need to step that up as well, so many people have no idea about the Jerk Hut, etc. You need something grab and go that is closer to the "adult" pool. This is a fun place for families, everyone is suer nice, ignre the very very dated rooms and you will be OK! Read less

Views: 10/10! The grounds are beautiful and the ocean is breathtaking! Food: It depends. The food served at the Rum Factory, Moonstone, and Seaside Grill were 6/10. The Fresh buffet was 7/10 depending on the day. Mangoes was 8/10. The Jerk Hut was 10/10!!!! It is a must! Room: 8/10 Our room was a king with a non-ocean view. We ended up on the first floor. Not the best outcome but it was nice to walk right out to the lawn in the morning! The bed was pretty firm which I didn't enjoy but my boyfriend did. It's a preference so I didn't include it in the score. However, the pillows were not great! They went flat immediately. A/C: 9.5/10 The lobby A/C is 10/10 but the A/C in the room was ok. It read as 65F/18C but it felt more like 70F/ 21C. Not terrible though! Entertainment: 10/10 There was entertainment every night and activities during the day. The cabaret was amazing! They definitely showcased a lot of local talent! Tips: Feel out the cabana situation on the first day and then decide if you would like to rent one. You can usually find an available covered bed very close to the beach past the Jerk Hut for no additional cost. The perk of renting a cabana is that it comes with a butler and it is right on the beach or by the pool. However, for no additional cost, the covered bed worked for our group! Read less
