Do not waste your hard earned money Vacationing at Sandals, Negril. Not only did we feel like we were annoying the staff. There were several times where my partner and I were actually CHASTISED by the staff during our stay showing clear annoyance with any small normal request we had. One Saturday night I asked for a menu and the bartender spat off all the items on the menu and when I said thank you, but could I please take a peek at a menu she sent angrily sent me away to find one myself. Which I did. And then made sure that I knew I was clearly annoying her when I came back to place my order after tracking down my own menu. It was not uncommon at sandals to wait 30 minutes for a drink and not always because of volume. We sat at a nearly empty/not busy 10 person bar and watched a very angry and hungover bartender with blood shot eyes pretend to clean with his back to the guests for 25 minutes. Hoping I guess that if he just ignored everyone long enough they would go somewhere else. We watched him ignore an elderly gentleman probably about 85 years old trying to get a drink for his wife for 15 minutes until a couple sitting next to us finally spoke up and asked the bartender if he would assist the older gentleman. His response “JUST A MINITE!” In the whole 45 minutes we were eating our lunch we received one drink total. When I tried to lighten the mood and ask him about his day he got very angry with me and leaned over the bar and got a few inches from my face to tell me to basically mind my business. When we finished lunch we found the older gentleman walking behind us looking for another bar because he was never assisted. Very sad. Room service was absolutely non existent. Over our 3 night and 4 day stay we tried room service or the front desk or anything from our room every single day. We were NEVER ONCE answered BY ANYONE from our room. We thought our phone was broken and we talked to other couples staying at the resort, and they confirmed that they were having the same issue and that the phone isn’t broken. No one answers the phone. Isn’t that suppose to be a part of the all inclusive appeal of Sandals? To be able to get service from your room? Non-existent. Also, bars are not open until 2 am. On Saturday night we went down at 12:45 for a drink and the bartender shut the last bar down at 1:11am. Said she was just “done”. So we had to end our night early and head back up to the room. We actually ended up walking down the beach to the lobster shack in front of other resorts to eat a few times because the food at Sandals was made with absolutely no love and we felt uncomfortable asking for anything because of the staffs attitude. Very very very disappointing trip. We really just felt like we paid a lot of money and didn’t get really even the bare minimum from the “all inclusive” service. My boyfriend and I are in the service industry (both bartenders) and understand that people have their good and bad days because we do too. But we felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome our entire stay at Sandals. Sad because the resort is absolutely beautiful. Will never be back, and sadly will probably not try any of the other Sandal locations, which our friends who are in the Ambassador Club, and who have been to almost every single sandals location have told us great things about. Really unfortunate. Stay somewhere else. Read less

There aren't enough character spaces to describe this horrible trip! We sat over THREE hours waiting for our rooms! We watched others arrive and go right to their rooms. We approached the front desk asking why numerous other guests, who stated it was their FIRST visit to a Sandals Resort, (between us we have 36 years of visits), were immediately taken to their rooms while we continued to sit. The General Manager, Matthew Cornall, came to talk with us. He kept repeating that he would 'see if he could work on it,' but NEVER did a thing. When we did get our rooms, they were absolutely FILTHY. Our friend's sheets had feces on them, our headboard had some sort of goo running down it, the dresser and table tops were sticky, there was sand in the bathrooms. Our refrigerator leaked water all over the floor. Our friends were told that there was no way the sheets were dirty because they deep clean, etc. We had to have a Supervisor actually go the room and look for herself to be believed. We were totally disgusted. One day at this resort was enough! We went to the front desk and asked to be moved to another resort. We were not spending thousands of dollars for this. The 'reservations' person was supposed to look for rooms, but didn't do much of anything for us. We were told to return in an hour to see what she found. When we returned she had no clue why we came back - she did nothing to get us moved. She then tried to tell us that there weren't any rooms at any other resorts in Jamaica. We were basically taken on a wild goose chase and lied to over and over until we finally called the front desk at Royal Caribbean and spoke to the General Manager, Ms. Dawn Smith, ourselves! She immediately went to work and found us rooms and had us moved within an hour. However this was after THREE days of back and forth with the reservations person at Negril doing nothing! WE LOST THREE DAYS OF OUR VACATION BECAUSE OF THE INCOMPETENCE AT NEGRIL. THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND FILTHY! Nobody cleaned up dirty glasses sitting around, or trash laying around. There were dirty glasses sitting outside our room on the beach, along with pizza boxes and trash. The beach was filthy, they didn't rake it or anything. There were locals walking all over the beach trying to sell weed. You could not go for a walk without being approached. There were CHILDREN on the resort. This is advertised as an Adult Only resort - but there are kids there....We were told it's a 'public beach,' and they can be within three feet of the water, but they don't follow that rule. Some of the buildings didn't even have water while we were there. We heard people saying they had to use the water from their refrigerator in their room, and put it in their toilet tank so it would flush. We went to the Barefoot restaurant for dinner because it does not require reservations. We arrived and saw at least four empty tables. The lady at the front ask how many, we told her four. She looked over her shoulder at the empty tables, then looked at us and said 'it will be a 40 minute wait, it's first come, first serve.' We all stared at her. My friend's husband said 'there are at least four empty tables here.' Her reply was 'just come back tomorrow.' We found out that this person was none other than Pauline - the MANAGER of that restaurant. Apparently she was too lazy to do her job and serve us. If all of this wasn't enough, I fell on the concrete sidewalk outside my room and NOT ONE employee stopped to see if I was okay. The final straw was when a piece of 2x4 fell from above our friend's patio, where they were doing construction, and hit our friend's husband on the head! There were no catch nets or anything under them while doing construction. When he told the front desk management, their reply was - "oh, we are sorry to hear that." None of us will EVER RETURN TO NEGRIL AGAIN! And we will certainly NOT recommend it to anyone else either. Read less

I met to write this review much earlier, as we came home at the beginning of March, but life got in the way. We stayed at Sandals Negril for 5 nights. First The Good We were in the beachfront Club Level room. The view was stunning! We loved sitting out on our balcony every morning, looking at the sunrise and drinking our coffee. The room was romantic and well taken care of during our stay. The beach is always stunning here in Negril, and perfect for long walks on the beach. In fact, we would walk the beach to Beaches Negril and enjoy that resort too. One of the perks of staying at Sandals. Workers that gave us EXCELLENT service and deserve to be mentioned: Javan Daynia Little Shavel Toneyann They all went above and beyond to make us feel like we were a priority as a guest. The not-so-good. I have to give Sandals Negril a 4-star review mainly because service was hit or miss here. Sometimes, we would have great service and food quality, and other times, not so much. A staff member suggested that Sandals is pumping its best workers and money into their new resorts and not giving as much attention to the older resorts such as Sandals Negril. I think that is probably accurate. Read less

We arrived in Jamaica 4/19/24 for our wedding. We were told the shuttle to resort from airport would take an hour and a half (when we were told 45 minutes when we booked). The driver was sketchy and the ride took almost 3 hours. That night; we went to Bayside to eat and waited over an hour for food after a 15 hour travel day. The room itself is gorgeous, the swim up pool is nice, and the view is great. As much as I hate to say this; I do not recommend getting married here. My husband and I eloped and got married here on Sunday 4/21/24. We booked the 2 lovebirds package. This comes with a couples massage, candle light dinner on the beach, breakfast in bed, the wedding ceremony with officiant, and 10 photos. We also paid for videography, a live stream, and extra photos. Our wedding planner, Natalee was amazing. Very professional, patient and kind. That was where the good experience ended. On wedding day, I went to Red Lane Spa at 12pm for my hair and makeup. I showed them the photos below, and got the following photo. They insisted they did not know why I was upset because it looks just like the photo and they kept insisting I eat something because I might just be hungry and that’s why I don’t like it? They would not let me leave the salon and kept trying to put more makeup on me and more curls in my hair until I demanded to leave and had ~30 minutes to do my hair and makeup in the room to try to look somewhat like myself and not feel ugly at the very least. I was not able to feel beautiful on my own wedding day. Once the ceremony started, workers and guests were tramping through the spot on the beach and interrupting the ceremony and live stream, no one tried to stop them. The ceremony was choppy and the live stream kept cutting to the “we’ll be right back” screen. It was honestly embarrassing. The minister was highly apathetic and unprofessional. he mispronounced my name for half the ceremony and then goes “oh wait it’s ______?”. I’m the bride so I expect my name should be pronounced properly. We paid $200 for trash the dress photos. I ruined my $1200 for 3 poses in the water when I was told the photographer would be getting in the water and saw in the Sandals photo look book examples of other trash the dress photos where they got way more poses and shots. I feel cheated of that experience. We paid for breakfast in bed the morning after the wedding and they completely ghosted us on it. I was looking forward to that breakfast and thought it would be romantic. By the time we realized we weren’t getting breakfast, the buffet had closed and we had to wait until lunch to eat. We haven’t booked any excursions since we have had nothing but bad service and don’t trust them to deliver. Overall, this experience has been very disappointing and the service does not match the very high price tag at all. If I could do it over again I would have gotten married at a different resort. Save yourself the heartache and get married somewhere else. Read less
