We have recently returned from a holiday at this resort…there are so many positive things to say….we were slightly disappointed when we first saw our room as it’s a little dated…however the bed was lovely and comfy and the shower was brilliant. We stayed in a swim up room which was overlooking the amazing crystal lagoon…the best pool we have ever enjoyed! The grounds of the resort are beautiful….there is a lovely relaxed vibe to the place. We renewed our wedding vows during our stay and we cannot rate the wedding planning team highly enough…..our wedding planner was a lovely lady called Techla. As soon as we met her, she made us feel at ease and was so helpful and professional sorting out every single detail for us to make sure the ceremony went without a hitch. It exceeded all our expectations and was a very special day which we will never forget. All the members of the team should get a mention…Shandulla, Nadege, Micky, Stany, Ryan and Tevin….first class service! The staff here really make this resort special… a few we want to mention…..Dolores, Richie, Raj, Omar and Vince. There were a few small niggles that I feel mean this resort isn’t a 5*…. The housekeeping was a bit hit and miss, we sometimes had to chase the staff as the fridge in the room didn’t get topped up with water, coke etc…the air conditioning in our first room ( 806 ) wasn’t working despite three or four attempts by the maintenance team to repair it…when the electrics in the room also went off, we asked to be moved to a new room which the team accommodated straight away. The second room ( 702 ) was lovely….as I say, these were little niggles and they in no way detracted from the enjoyment of our stay. Read less

I truly believe that these three women could not have been more helpful, insightful and empathetic during our stay. There was not one thing stated to them that they did not take care of immediately. Their communication amongst each other was spotless as well as with us. We are planning another vacation in 2026 due to their fine representation of your facilities. This resort is according to sandals themselves the runt of the litter. That's unfair. I felt it was nicer than La Toc which was just noisy when we visited. Grounds Halcyon is stunning. Accommodation I can't comment on all the rooms but ours was a little tired. Adequate for what you need. Large bed, nice pillows, tired bathroom. Good sized balcony overlooking lazy River. Fridge restocked when required. Fresh towels everyday but remember to turn the green light on at the door or your room won't be refreshed. Food The menus need to change. This is what let's halcyon down. Eat, repeat, eat repeat. None of the restaurants vary their menus! The birds need to be kept off the serving spoons. Hard to keep birds out I know but when they peck on the spoons they need to be changed. Service Island time so it can be very slow. On more than 2 occasions we asked for 2 beers at lunch and on more than 2 occasions we left without getting them.. breakfast is good at Kelly's but give up an hour for service. Staff Very hard working. I would have liked to see more personality. Most are very robotic. Sandalised! The welcome and departure songs are sandalised. I don't think it's necessary and think its demeaning. The staff are going through what is expected of them and don't look as if they enjoy doing it. Sometimes it felt like we were watching staff at Disney just going through the motions because they have to. Why does reception insist on ringing guests in their rooms umpteen times during their holiday to check how their holiday is going. It's a pain tbh. If there were issues I'm sure they would be raised. Tours Expensive. Be careful if you use the guys on the beach that you get what you pay for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but don't think the corporate spin sandals put on their resorts is for us.
