Ocean Key Resort

After many searches for a place to stay in Key West, we decided on the Ocean Key. THANKFULLY! This was a beautiful stay in a great location! Our room overlooked the ocean at Mallory Square and we enjoyed our balcony each day! The room was very clean and well maintained. I am a clean FREAK and felt very comfortable here! The pool area was also very clean and welcoming. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The front desk staff worked to get us a reservation for dinner at sunset at the Hot Tin Roof. We were so appreciative. Our dinner and service there was impeccable. We also had a morning brunch there on the last day that was simple and perfect. We loved the pier area: the vibe, the location, the view and the drinks. Only catch there was the business of it... we had to seek out ordering. Not a big deal but good to know before going! All around, this hotel was a perfect stay for our 3 night getaway. We loved it all and would love to return! Definitely give this a try! Read less

The location is perfect for dropping in to all of the restaurants, bars and shopping. The view is fantastic....catch every sunset from your balcony without fighting the crowds! Grab a drink, people watch, listen to the music from the pier bar below and watch the sun go down. The rooms are spacious and clean. It still feels like Key West but the staff is friendly and it is still a higher end get away. Read less

This hotel has a lot going for it: our “junior suite was very spacious and designed so that it felt like two full rooms, and the bathroom had a beautiful soaking tub positioned so that you could open sliding doors and have a view of outside. I thought it was weird that AI was identifying “well trained staff” as an asset- until I met them. The front desk was welcoming and helped get us into our room as soon as possible, the concierge was informative, the cleaning staff was flexible (we were in and out of our room all day and they totally worked around us), and the staff at the pool kept it impeccably clean and turned over chairs/ cleared out used towels quickly. Everyone we encountered was professional and responsive, including when we needed towels for an early morning excursion, wanted to order a pizza one night, and needed to store luggage after checkout and before our late flight. The pool is small but perfect for couples, small groups, and our pre-teen who wanted to do some handstands and flips in the water. A few folks had very little kids in floats. (I wouldn't recommend it for very active kids.) The ambiance very much depended on that day’s guests- most days were low-key, but one day we had a set of couples whose behavior was a little provocative and eventually unsafe when one of them was clearly over-served. He slipped more than once and we got the impression he was finally cut off, but not soon enough. I booked a massage at the spa that was EXCELLENT, in a lovely room. I wish I had inquired a little sooner to maybe take advantage of longer treatments! The location is ideal- we walked to everything! The only warning I would give is that the scene downtown is a little rowdy until late. Our room overlooked a small parking lot and people were blasting their music and squeaking their tires around 3 am. Read less
