The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are six restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

The Kot Nou restaurant was amazing. Traditional Mauritian food and Kuipy, Mohin and especially Noorina were so friendly, knowledgeable and funny. Food gets served in trios and duo’s so you can try all the authentic tastes, flavours and cooking. It was nice to have the food all explained to you. Great night, didn’t feel like an all inclusive… Read more

We had a lovely time at Zilwa Attitude Hôtel, every day was wonderful, and the staff made it so. From the guys on the front door, the gardeners who kept the grounds in superb condition, and those who made sure our room was prepared to perfection each day. The catering was excellent, great food and beverages, helped by Jim on the main bar, Dursun at the Ship, and Subbareddy, just starting out on his career, a lovely, polite lad. Special mention for sous chef Collean, always there, be it for breakfast or on Grand Zil, to cater for our needs, such a nice man. We also had a massage, Neena was very good, and enjoyed the catamaran trip with big Jensen, DJ and Kofi Annan! Out and about was organised by Taxi Bhavish, a lovely guy, we recommended you use him. Our expectations of Zilwa were met, and more, it’s a really lovely place. Read less

We stayed for 10 nights over the Easter holidays as a family of 6 which included two young children. Our room was a good size, which included slippers for us to use, but no dressing gowns that the other members of our group had, maybe as we were in a family room. We loved going out on the Kayaks most days and even tried Paddle Boarding. On our last day we went out of the glass bottom boat which the kids enjoyed. In the evening we played Tennis (remember mosquito repellent). The food at the restaurant is of good quality and we enjoyed the other restaurants, especially the adult only, but was unable to get booked into the Mauritian one. The chefs were really helpful, as my two children are fussy eaters and although there was pizza, pasta etc on offer, they are not foods my kids like, but it was no trouble at all for them to quickly make them some chicken nuggets, which was much appreciated. Just like most hotels, you do have guests that seem to come down early to put their towels down, then don’t see them for the rest of the day, however we always managed to find a sunbed. We visited Grand Zi twice and enjoyed the bbq food and a swing on the hammocks In my option the two things that let the hotel down, is the sea not being clear (although it’s not the hotels fault, it should be made clear in the brochure) and a number of staff working in the buffet restaurant, which unfortunately I had to complain to the restaurant manager about a number of times and also our Tui rep Due to these reasons I wouldn’t return. I am someone, who has been blessed by God to travel extensively both in my personal and professional life. I state that from the start to put into context this reveiew. The resort is beyond excellent, charming and spectacular. Words fail to decribe how it deliverd on every promise. From the off, before we had even arrived, the organisational skills of the resorts Duty Manager, Amrish were second to none and we already knew from this that the CX here would be world class. Upon arrival this was confirmed. Every aspect of this trip did not dissapoint and lived up to and beyond our expectations. If your pondering on whether to go or not - ponder no more! Here at the Zilwa Attitude, you will get a true taste of mauritian culture, food, entertainment (all inc. is the way to go) in the surrounding of a luxury resort hosted by the people of the island to the highest caliber of customer service. Special shout outs to Vikram (reception), Sachi (restaurant manager), Kush and Kishan at the bar. Read less

Our stay here startet with a perfect welcoming: the view when you enter the main house is just stunning and the staff went out of their way to make us feel right at perfect holidays. The rooms are larger than you see in the pictures, a bit more rustic, but you can feel very comfortable in them. The complex is great, all the guests are very well distributed, you can always find a nice spot at the beach, the pool, in the restaurants or at the bar. The sports facilities are great, we liked the sessions on the beach best, especially Pilates. Of course, the water activities are also great. The kids' club offers a varied program and our child usually had a great time there. Unfortunately, the supervisors only speak English and French, which makes it very difficult for smaller German children to communicate. The food was great in all the restaurants. We can only recommend a stay here! Read less
