Brought the whole family to dubai and stayed at grand Hyatt. The service from the very beginning was personalized yet not overwhelming. The manager shashink (sp?) briefly welcomed us and thanked us... Read more for our continued business for Hyatt. I jokingly mentioned to him that I missed the "diamond" status last year by one or two stays. Little would I have expected that he actually looked into it and informed us at the end of our stay that "diamond" status was bestowed! At check out, we settled our bills and went back to our room to pick up our stuff afterwards. Only to find out all of our luggage had been carried downstairs, including my car key which I left on the counter in the room. It was given to us at the concierge wrapped in an envelop. Read less
We stayed in Dubai for 10 days over Christmas and decided to book two different hotels to change things up. After our first five days in an amazing hotel none of us wanted to change. The Grand Hyatt... Read more is a little further away for the city centre but not too far to be that inconvenient. The rooms are older and rather more Grand than modern, but still very nice and not lacking in facilities. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and cover a range of cuisines. The gounds and pool area are what makes this hotel special, they include tennis courts and walking/running track. They have beautiful trees, flowering bushes, water features, large grassed areas and bird life. One problem, probably due to the season, was the lack of sun lounges around the pool area. Wafi Mall is easy to walk to and has a very nice Arabian souk area in the basement. The main shops are designer brands but there was also a carrefour, food court and the shopping centre itself is amazing to see - Egyptian themed. Read less

The kids also loved the Kids pool with water slides and nice rides. The only thing on the negative side, was the valet /concierge guys seemed to be tired and a bit bother-less with the guests. (or might be my bad luck in the 4 occasions I used my car). They wouldnt come to your car and attend you like other hotels do. they just keep on staring at you until you call them and ask for help. In one occasion, I stopped the car in front of them, when nobody came over I went out of the car with my famiy and opened the trunk and started unloading my luggage and baby strollers and they still watched. Then I called someone from the valet team and he seemed a bit relaxed and asked him for help to valet the car and take my luggage to reception. He made feel like I am asking something unusual but he took my keys! There were about 3 or 4 valet(concierge persons) standing and watching about 3 meters away from the car. The same happened 3 more times during my stay. In all, I had a good time and I recommend this hotel. Read less
