BelAire Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand

The hotel

This Bangkok hotel may be all things modern, but it still gives you the authentic local experience, from Thai massages at Sukavadee Spa to Thai cookery classes. It’s also created its own ‘local’ treats, like the signature ‘tuk tuk cooler’ cocktails on the menu of its super-sleek Liquid Lounge bar. The outdoor pool is set among city towers, giving it the feel of a hidden urban treat, especially when you’re tucking into ice creams from its accompanying poolside bar. But the hotel’s anything but hidden – it’s right on Bangkok’s popular Sukhumvit Road and just a stroll from the nearest Skytrain station. Once you return from shopping or sightseeing, you can choose from the Indian, Thai and Western menu of Tiffin Restaurant, or indulge in the 24-hour room service.

Firstly and importantly, i am only commenting on the customer service experience i had with this hotel, i didnt actually stay here. In saying that, my wife and 2 boys were to stay here for 3 nights in July. I booked and paid for it and all went through fine. Due to Covid this stay was cancelled. My wish was to transfer the booking to the same dates in 2021, thought this would be easiest. However the property decided they could do that if i paid 3,586 Baht extra. I queried this and was told the property decided this. Ok, no thanks. That day i looked independently at the prices for this hotel for the dates in 2021 and found it was actually cheaper then what i had paid in 2020. So , rather then just transferring the booking, they tried to charge 3,500+ baht extra, despite the fact the dates we wanted were cheaper then what i had already paid. In my opinion, that was the property trying to take advantage. Hopefully all opens again soon, but after the trying to make a quick buck through underhand manner I wont be booking here. OK - 4th time we've been and we hope to go back each year now. The location is fine, just around 3 minutes walk up Soi 5, so within 5 minutes walk of Nana BTS station. Breakfast gives you a massive choice of Thai, Arabic or Western food (incredible Dhaal). and Yod is there within seconds of seeing your cup empty ready to top it up! Kaye in… Read more

Kaye in Club Tribecca was also so friendly and kept us topped up with Thai beer and cocktails. Swimming pool was lovely - plenty of loungers etc and you can stay in shade or the sun. You can get drinks throughout the day as well. I seem to review this every year so I don't know what else to say but do please ask any questions. Depending on CoronaVirus we hope to be back for our 6th visit in January 2021.... Read less

Plenty of bars, restaurants and the ARTBOX Night Market 5 minutes away was really good. Hotel staff very friendly and the pool area is nicer than the photos suggest. Breakfast also quite nice. Would recommend the hotel to anyone passing through Bangkok for a couple of nights. Read less

We stayed for 4 nights at the BelAire in February 2020 before flying to Krabi. This was our first visit to Thailand. We booked through Virgin Holidays who recommended the hotel. The hotel is central to the business district, sky train, and shops and bars. The rooms are spacious but dated. Our bathroom was in need of a refresh. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, no complaints, some thing for everyone. The staff at the BelAire are excellent. They speak good English and provide good service. We booked a couple of trips (Grand Palace and Floating Market) with the representative in reception. These were well organised and well priced. The hotel is located in a quiet street, which is not particularly attractive. There is nothing wrong with the hotel it just lacks character and is very basic for a 4 star. I'm sure that there are nicer hotels. If location is important to you then the BelAire is fine, we prefer a nicer ambience. Read less
