BelAire Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand

The hotel

This Bangkok hotel may be all things modern, but it still gives you the authentic local experience, from Thai massages at Sukavadee Spa to Thai cookery classes. It’s also created its own ‘local’ treats, like the signature ‘tuk tuk cooler’ cocktails on the menu of its super-sleek Liquid Lounge bar. The outdoor pool is set among city towers, giving it the feel of a hidden urban treat, especially when you’re tucking into ice creams from its accompanying poolside bar. But the hotel’s anything but hidden – it’s right on Bangkok’s popular Sukhumvit Road and just a stroll from the nearest Skytrain station. Once you return from shopping or sightseeing, you can choose from the Indian, Thai and Western menu of Tiffin Restaurant, or indulge in the 24-hour room service.

Checking in was smooth and pleasant. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Room amenities and toiletries were adequate. Breakfast spread was more than adequate. Location is in the Sukhumvit Area so most, if not all, conveniences and amenities can be found within walking distances. We booked rooms with Club floor privileges and it was quite a reprieve after a day's tour or shopping in the heat and humidity. We would drop our day's treasures and head down to the club lounge for Happy hour (5-7pm) and enjoy the free flow of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The snacks accompaniment were great....both hot and cold were served...yummy! Somehow, this hotel does not serve pork dishes due to it's location in Sukhumvit and then we realized that most of the guests we came across during our stay were Arabs & Muslims. Was a great stay and great value for the money. Read less

I don't really expect the food to be so good in these hotels but the food was really good and its obvious the friendly staffs. The rooms were pretty good as well and getting upgraded was even better. Good location. A must visit

4 stars hotel .. In the Arab street Bangkok and surrounded by the very best the city has to offer... The location places you within walking distance of the skytrain offering numerous connections to corporate offices, shopping malls, dining, entertainment, Bumrungrad Hospital and International Airports. Staff are friendly..

My sister and me returned to the Belaire 11-15th September 2019 for our 9th visit. First the good points: The staff are lovely and very friendly and helpful, they let us check in early after travelling for 23 hours to get there. The breakfast buffet is really good with oatmeal (porridge to us Brits) being the star item. The location is fantastic with easy access to the Skytrain, night markets and shops. Now for the disappointing parts: The hotel is really shabby with grey walls and tired decor. We last stayed in 2017 and though the pool area has been updated, the rest of the hotel now looks tatty. The standard of housekeeping was poor. On 2 occasions we were not given hand towels or coffee\water and I had to ask. Only once was my request heeded. There were clearly not enough housekeeping staff as rooms were not vacuumed ( nor were the hallways) there was dust on the ledges outside the lifts and in my room, I lifted the mat on which the coffee things were placed to find ants and lots of dirt that I cleaned myself. I think September is a slow month and more staff are probably brought in nearer to the season but I was disappointed to find my favourite Bangkok hotel so reduced. I may return for a 10th visit but only if they do a refurbishment before that. Read less

This was our first stop on a 3 week Thailand trip and got us off to a great start. We got the Skytrain from Bangkok airport as the station is less than a 5min walk from the hotel and SO much cheaper than a taxi. Hotel was clean, comfortable and everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Rooftop pool is a bit tired but great for a dip at the end of a day exploring the city. Our room was a good size, and breakfast looked good though we didn't eat it. We did have lunch in the restaurant and the food was good, big portions and reasonably priced. Every single member of staff from the front desk to the restaurant and the handyman were polite, and really helpful. We had an issue with our keycards not letting us in to our room on our second day and they sorted it quickly, with a drink at the bar offered complimentary whilst we waited (the batteries in the card reader needed replacing). Tip: We walked to the Nana Nua water taxi pier (about 5-10mins up the road) and found it the cheapest way to get into the centre (last stop is Phanfa Bridge, right next to the Golden Mount). Also found this way quicker than Tuk tuks or taxis at peak times as avoided all the congestion on the roads! Also ask at the front desk how much you should be paying for a tuk tuk or taxi to where you want to go. We used this as a bargaining tool and meant we knew we weren't being ripped off, but I'd 100% recommend using the skytrain / public transport as much as possible! Not the height of luxury but well located and more than adequate as a base for 3 nights. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we ever found ourselves back in Bangkok. Read less
