Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort

Aruba, Caribbean

The hotel

When you’re beside one of the world’s most talked about beaches, it is only right you spend every waking moment on the sands. That’s why Amsterdam Manor even lets you dine with your toes in the pearl-white powder – on tables lit by romantic tiki torches, with the sound of the frothy surf rolling in. And it’s not just its restaurant that’s beach-top, it also serves up Caribbean-side cocktails and light lunches at its beach bar, and weekly movie nights on the sands. Just over the coastal road from Eagle Beach, the main hotel’s a showcase of Aruba’s Dutch Colonial architecture, with its cheery yellow buildings capped with burnt-orange tiles, and it’s home to another fabulous bar, the culinary global theme nights of Mangos, and a pool that does its utmost to beat the lure of the beautiful beach beyond it.

Very beautiful well maintained property. Would be nice if the pool was open past 8, would have liked to take a swim after dinner. Dinner at Passions for sunset was amazing. Beach is wonderful, clean and never had a problem finding a palapa.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Bed right by front door which is double glazed providing to say the least a very quirky view of hotel guests and cars.

Beach is gorgeous and a very , very short stroll across the road to get there . Staff are very attentive and friendly and standard of service very good . Side window by kitchen sink in room number 112A is odd in that it gives close up views of next door couple eating their breakfast on their veranda . Bed is right by the front door which is double glazed and gives lovely views of guests walking by and also the road . There is a heavy curtain of which if you draw it for privacy the room becomes cavernous and dark perhaps some form of net curtain might have been an idea . So whilst in the room in daytime we do tend to get interested views through the front door from passing guests as I lounge on bed watching t.v. As I sleep in the buff and sometimes may lounge in the room I hope that I don’t inadvertently provide entertainment value . Curiously when our rep spoke to the hotel staff about it they seemed perturbed that they had never had a complaint like it before and did not offer an alternative rather to tell us that the only rooms available were suites accommodating six guests . So faced with the prospect of paying for under occupancy for four other people I thought no way ! My wife finds it somewhat odd that folk pass by and inadvertently peer in to what I consider to be a bedsit with a bedview but described as a superior room ! Meanwhile I continue to hope that that as I stroll around in various states of dress and/ or nakedness I will not during the daytime utilise the curtain over the front door because to do so makes the room cavernous and dark . I would like to state that this is the reason for the low score above because of the complete lack of privacy and does not reflect on other staff whom are charming . This is our third day here and for reference for anyone staying here in the future the “ Room with a View “ is room number 112a . Garry and Lorraine Clarke . Read less

the best hotels in Aruba, very Dutch & authentic! Wonderful staff & great accommodation! The best beach in Aruba that’s why we keep coming back. Great bars & happy hours, just wish they had a designated area for smokers at the Mango’s bar!
