Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort

Aruba, Caribbean

The hotel

When you’re beside one of the world’s most talked about beaches, it is only right you spend every waking moment on the sands. That’s why Amsterdam Manor even lets you dine with your toes in the pearl-white powder – on tables lit by romantic tiki torches, with the sound of the frothy surf rolling in. And it’s not just its restaurant that’s beach-top, it also serves up Caribbean-side cocktails and light lunches at its beach bar, and weekly movie nights on the sands. Just over the coastal road from Eagle Beach, the main hotel’s a showcase of Aruba’s Dutch Colonial architecture, with its cheery yellow buildings capped with burnt-orange tiles, and it’s home to another fabulous bar, the culinary global theme nights of Mangos, and a pool that does its utmost to beat the lure of the beautiful beach beyond it.

A very nice moderate to upscale operation. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere. Good bed! Two small quibbles- you have to cross the street to get to the beach. It’s not far and it’s a really nice beach, just a minor hassle as the official and safer crosswalk is not where the hotel sidewalk leads you. And the air conditioning is somewhat… Read more

Great place with very friendly staff. Beach not as crowded as high rise resorts further north on island. This is a great place for families. Pool and nearby amenities were very good. Our family had a great time at Amsterdam Manor.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating OVerall good but front desk staff not so much

Our experience was favourable overall but the front desk staff were not friendly. The activities were poorly advertised and when we did sign up for scuba, no one showed up to give the lesson. We planned our day around this and were told "sorry, we submitted the form". Staff should have followed up to find out what happened with the tour company.… Read more

Beverage service at the pool might have been a nice perk. Read less

If you are looking for a hotel in the middle of the action, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for charming, quiet and relaxing, it is good value for the money. Read less

We booked this trip without doing a lot of "research" and were pleasantly surprised at how well it suited our needs. We were travelling with a toddler and it was essentially the perfect vacation. Some of the highlights included: 1. Beautiful room, grounds and beach with friendly staff and not too large or overpopulated. Loved the size of the resort and we could easily make trips from our room to the beach, so we didn't have to worry about lugging around everything we would need for the day. 2. Short walking distance to many 5 star restaurants as well as to the nearby supermarket 3. Delicious on site restaurant that allows you to eat directly on the beach with top quality food - Passions on the Beach 4. The beach huts all have electrical outlets and there is wifi directly on the beach which I found a huge bonus Read less
