This famous hotel built in original Art Deco style in 1930 has welcomed its fair share of celebrities over the years — Frank Sinatra, Winston Churchill and Ernest Hemingway have all been guests and who can blame them? Located in the middle of the Vedado district of Havana, overlooking the harbour, sea wall and city, this hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the unique city of Old Havana only 5 minutes away by taxi from the old town. Spend your days wandering the nearby cobbled streets of Old Havana, but don't forget to take some time to relax by the pool sipping a thirst-quenching mojito from the pool bar! In the evenings, there's a choice of smart à la carte dining in Comedor de Aguiar or delicious buffet meals at La Veranda and 5 more bars at which to try the local rums!

This hotel has had a glorious past full of history but my room had the worst damp carpet smell and it was stinky. The light meal cafe had really tasteless food but the outside in the beach restaurant was okay - not fabulous but okay.
