The hotel

Like staying with friends (if you have friends with an eye-poppingly gorgeous home in the Caribbean that is), Mount Nevis pampers you with intimacy, home-grown organic food, a glorious garden pool, and arguably the best views of St Kitts across the Caribbean Sea, thanks to its hillside setting near Newcastle. Boutique in size and feel, its 50 rooms and suites sit in pavilions within the 17 acre Round Hill Estate, a lime plantation dating back to the 1800s. Its grounds also hold hammocks, those show-stopping views, and a kitchen garden that feeds its Bella Vista Restaurant – where, as the name suggests, the delicious produce vies for attention with stunning views from the veranda. And, being your friends in Nevis, your hosts will drive you to and from one of the island’s most beautiful sandy shores each day.

A late-night arrival to the St. Kitts airport required considerable planning to get us to the hotel on Nevis. Hotel staff handeled the transportation flawlessly, arranging a taxi to the boat dock, water taxi to Nevis and a taxi to the hotel. The hotel is somewhat isolated. We rented a car for our week stay. The grounds are immaculately maintained. All staff are friendly, competent and helpful. The room was well-equipped with fast WiFi and international TV. The restaurant, managed separately from the hotel, served both western and Indian cuisine. A full breakfast offered several western choices. To get away from it all, this is a great place to stay. We stayed in a two room villa. The views were spectacular. The rooms were very clean. The staff was very accommodating, assisting with our every need. The venue is quiet, which is just what we were looking for. Food at the restaurant, Happinezz, which is on site, was delicious. We would highly recommend Mount Nevis Hotel.

The colors and landscape are breathtaking. We loved being tucked in close to the mountains with a grand view of the sea. The night sounds lulled us to sleep. We were only a couple of miles from the sea and only need to take a short drive to the airport as well. We will visit here again.

We visit The Mount Nevis Hotel every year at Easter for a dip in the immaculate pool and... the views! The very best views on the island. The food is fabulous - they have various themed nights (call in advance to check). We've never been let down by the friendly staff and the mouth watering meals.
