Where is it

On the west coast of Tobago on a stunning beach, it’s located beside a golf course, where hotel guests get preferential rates, and just a mile from the famous Buccoo Reef. Transfer time from airport: 20 minutes.

99 rooms. All with private balcony or patio, air-conditioning, TV with cable channels, WiFi access, hairdryer and in-room safe. Standard Rooms have 2 double beds or 1 king-size bed, with views of the ocean, pool, garden or golf course. Sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Breakfast option: available at a supplement. 

Half Board option: available at a supplement, includes breakfast and dinner.

Full Board option: available at a supplement, includes breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Sugarmill Restaurant. Option to enjoy lunch in the Beach Bar any day and to dine 1 night a week in the Jacaranda Restaurant.

Superior Rooms with views of the ocean or beautiful gardens have 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Featuring additional amenities including a tea/coffee station, mini-fridge and USB charging ports.

Standard Garden Cottages are set in the well-manicured gardens with a private patio, from which you can admire the views. They feature a living room and kitchenette and are air-conditioned throughout. They have 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Superior Garden Cottages offer a more spacious accommodation, featuring 2 double beds and a sofa bed as well as a living room, kitchenette and a tea/coffee station.

Executive Deluxe One Bedroom Suites offer views of the ocean, pool or gardens. They feature a sitting area with fully upholstered sofas and chairs and additional amenities to include deluxe toiletries, a tea/coffee station, mini-fridge, USB charging ports and complimentary WiFi. They have either 1 king-size bed or 1 queen-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Executive Deluxe Two Bedroom Suites have a sitting area with fully upholstered sofas and chairs and additional amenities including deluxe toiletries, a tea/coffee station, mini-fridge, USB charging ports, complimentary WiFi, 1 king-size bed and 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults and 2 children.

3 restaurants, The Sugar Mill Restaurant, serving casual Caribbean cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (7.00am-10.00pm), The Jacaranda Restaurant offers fine dining, suitable for special occasions and group dining and The Beach Bar - sandwiches, salads, grilled fish and chicken are the main fare in addition to wine, beer, soft drinks and thirst quenching cocktails (10:00am-6:00pm for drinks and 12:00-6:00pm for food). The Coral Dining Room is available for private events. The Hummingbird Lounge serving speciality coffees, teas, house-baked goods, pastries, sandwiches, paninis and wraps (7:00am-5:00pm, open on rotation). 5 bars including a swim-up bar and cocktail lounge. Room service* (7:30am-9:30pm).

Occasional events (including Jazz on the Beach each April, and Barefoot on the Beach on New Year’s Eve).

I was really excited for my anniversary trip that I took with another couple who were also celebrating their anniversary but ended up disappointed. We arrived the first day they reopened after being closed for months due to covid. We arrived after 1...spent about 40 mins checking in and was told our rooms weren't ready. We went to get lunch returned and still had to wait by the pool. We got our room mins to 4pm...check in is 3pm. Pros -Food at restaurant is amazing -Restaurant staff are super nice, shout out to peanut and restaurant supervisor (didn't get her name). -The hotel grounds are lovely it is clear that the rooms have been recently upgraded -Welcome rum punch is out of this world Cons -Reception staff are rude -They tried to charge me more than what they sent on the booking invoice (good thing I made a down payment and they sent me an email informing of my balance) -I made only 1 requests at booking that happy anniversary be placed on the beds in both rooms. They never did it. When I Enquired why I was told that they had many anniversary guests and couldn't do it (the hotel was a ghost town our first night). Although Joel assured me that they would do it. They NEVER apologized. - I always check below the bed to ensure I leave nothing behind. I found a lot of dust and a face cream that didn't belong to anyone I traveled with (see pictures it might be yours). I have to assume it belonged to someone who stayed in the room before closing for months due to covid. Scary! What were they cleaning when we arrived? I reported it while checking out... Guests I saw were all adhering to the postings. The staff was especially courteous, greets you pleasantly; I must say "thank you so much for making my stay special" to Dion and Nicolas the front desk personnels, Sannicia, Ms Dempster and her wait staff at dinner and breakfast -- the young lady attendants--very attentive and helpful---oh what service it was!! Thank you They were always mindful of the social distancing , always mask on yet provided excellent service! Mount Irvine Beach is probably the best beach on the island and even more stunning on a very sunny day. When I tried to rebook a couple weeks later on the assumption I could do so to my surprise I wasn’t able to as I was told the cancellation policy was I had to cancel 3 days before. I queried same since if that were the case why would you accept someone paying for insurance on the room if they booked the day before the stay. I consider the policy totally illogical but the hotel would not budge. Be wary of this when booking at this hotel. Read less

The common areas of this resort (lobby, pool, restaurant) are very nice but the rooms themselves were very poorly maintained. I did not have a blanket of any sort on either of the beds in my room or in any dresser or closet. i had a thin fitted sheet and that was it. The tiles in the bathroom were cracked. There were ants. On 2 of the 4 days I stayed there, I returned to my room to find my patio door unlocked. Additionally, the security deposit that was placed as a hold on my account was withdrawn and although the front desk has admitted multiple times via phone that this was done erroneously, 3 months later, I have still not been issued a refund. I was waiting to write a review hoping that they would remedy this problem but since they have not after almost 3 months, here it is. Do yourself and a favor and DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT! Read less
