Opal Sands Resort

Clearwater, Clearwater and St Pete

The hotel

The Gulf of Mexico greets you at every twist and turn of this coastal chic retreat. The clever curve design guarantees a waterfront view from every guestroom, with floor-to-ceiling glass and private balconies maximising the impact. The to-die-for Clearwater Beach setting’s echoed in the sand and sea colour scheme, and in the artworks created and curated by artist Christopher Still. But, step outside, and the real thing’s right there – with Gulf views from its zero-entry pool, accessorised with a hot tub, palm trees, and ocean-blue loungers. The seafront scene also welcomes you to every dining and drinking venue at Opal Sands. From the beachside tiki bar to Sea-Guini, with its fresh seafood and Italian-inspired selections, you’ll find the perfect pit stop whether you’ve been putting your feet up at the spa or putting them down on the complimentary bikes.

My Wife and I enjoyed a 4 night stay at the Opal Sands Resort and it could not have been any better. Upon arrival, we were able to do a pre-check in at the front desk and was then able enjoy the beach while we waited for our room to become available. Once the room was ready, we received a text letting us know that we could valet park and have our bags brought up to our room. Our room was a 1 King Bed Premium Suite (#1417) which is located on the southern side of the resort. Being an end unit, we had the most amazing views of the ocean and sun sets. The main living area was spacious, well decorated and enjoyable. The bedroom itself was good size and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was large and modernized leading to a clean feeling. The extra large balcony extending from the main living area to the bedroom was where we enjoyed most of our time while we were in the room. We felt very secluded yet very comfortable while being outside. The overall feel of the resort leads you to believe you are indeed at a high level establishment with plenty of room as to not feel crowded by the other guests. Given we went in January, there was still lots of room for what seemed like a full hotel. Bottom line, we could not have been happier nor more comfortable while we stayed at the Opal Sands Resort. Trust the pictures you see on their website on Trip Advisor. Very well maintained resort and a great staff means we will be returning in the future. Read less

It was what I wanted to provide for her a place on the water front for her to relax and enjoy her favor, relaxing on the water. The hotel help me provide breakfast to her on the balcony. so she could enjoy her favored spot. We were able to wake up in the morning listening to the water and it was the best she said she has ever enjoyed. I want to say thank you to Alex the 2nd shift front desk mgr. for helping and asking if there is anything that we needed. He is a great reprehensive for this property. I only had 1 issue, but I had a text number to get help and they were on it helping. Great to make one text to get things done. The Asian girl at the bar in the morning when I ordered breakfast was a awesome person and very helpful. Food was good ! The gym was very nice to workout in ! Read less

The room had amazing view of pier 60 and shops. Everyroom has a view of the gulf. On site spa was a little pricey but worth the pampering. Staff was exceptionally friendly going above and beyond. The little touches that count they simply do without asking. Definetly will be back to this 4 star resort was worth every penny!

The Spa, I enjoyed, while waiting to check in for a mini mani/pedi/facial, which was all spectacular. We enjoyed bicycles from the nicest hotel employees. We ate in Sea-Guini for two dinners, one lunch and a bar visit, and we should have planned additional times. Unfortunately, we ventured "off campus" for another meal and it was regretted. The rooms were so clean, and spacious and had just wonderful views, with spacious balconies to enjoy fresh air and the sounds from the beach. The beds were so comfy. I hope to return here someday soon. It was exceptional from first minute to exit. Read less
