Aside from the great location, the friendly staff at the Front desk and the bar (why they call it a tavern is mystery) are probably the only ones worthy of recognition. I tried to book a room overlooking the outer gulf and the beach, but after I entered my preferential rate, those rooms disappeared even though I booked directly with the hotel. I thought I’d upgrade at check in, but no luck. I wasn’t concerned, since I thought that at this price range there shouldn’t be an issue. We were assured of a great view to the so-called “inner gulf”, with the added blessing of a high floor… When we got to the room we knew what they meant – great view towards the roof of the lobby and the parking lot, with a glimmer of a bay in the distance; and if you’re below the sixth floor it’s only parking lot and roof. The room was very small, with a bath so tiny it could only fit the tub and the throne, but not the sink. The carpet was dirty, even grimy in the corners and along the walls. We asked the FD a couple of times to send someone at least to vacuum the visible dirt, but it never happened. Add the dated look and the noisy A/C. Looks like COVID is the golden excuse for the innkeepers to cut labor and services and just collect revenue – the carpet not only in the room, but also in the hallways could really use some steam cleaner. How is that place rated four stars is beyond me. The beach is great, it was the main reason we chose this particular hotel. We didn’t mind paying for the umbrellas and the chairs, but were disappointed that when we asked for a cabana were shut down. The explanation was that they don’t do cabanas in the summer because of some silly excuse not even worth repeating; not that they didn’t want to spend twice the time and get half the revenue compared to two umbrellas. In summary, even a top tier pricing is not a guarantee for good quality. Read less

My wife and I spent 5 days at this resort last week and the entire staff (guest services, bellmen, check in, restaurant staff, cleaning team, pool staff, shop personnel) was professional, personable, responsive, accommodating, reliable and overall the best we have seen in many many years of our marriage and ranks right next to the Ritz Resort @ Amelia Island. I had called ahead with a couple of requests because it was our 30th wedding anniversary. Maria Buckle and her guest services team went way beyond my request with many special personal touches throughout our entire stay. My wife felt appreciated - Home Run! Matter of fact, the entire property's personnel was outstanding. We will be back for certain whether to celebrate another special occasion and/or just to vacation at a resort where we will feel valued as a guest and treated extremely well for the entire stay. Congratulations Sheraton Corporation! Read less

We have stayed here for the past few years and have had great experiences each time. This time, we were celebrating our 25th anniversary with our family during our stay. I mentioned that to the director of guest svc and we were in communication multiple times prior to the stay. I will just say the went ABOVE AND BEYOND what would be expected in order to make our stay amazing. On our last visit in 2020, I made a mistake while picking my suite night rewards and they again went above and beyond in order to fix my mistake and get us into the suite that we wanted. The pool bar staff, housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, and hotel management are too notch and are what make this hotel special. More generically, the hotel is located on the quiet part of the clearwater area. It is great if that is what you are looking for. The pool is nice and beach chair rentals are WAY cheaper than the busy clearwater area and very reasonable. It is extremely clean in all areas. As with all of the beach hotels I have stayed at, it may use a fresh coat of paint, but otherwise I will continue to stay here and would recommend it to anyone that asked! Read less

Also the balcony and gulf view super! The bathroom was oddly small but clean and functional. The food was very good at all three restaurants. Congrats to the chef and bartender! The rock shrimp bisque and dry martini were killer! The breakfast buffet was well worth it too. The pool is small for the size of the hotel. Family resort so the kids have a great time but can get tedious with so many people in a small place. People plop down towels early to grab there spot. By the end of the day the place is loaded with towels and little seating. It appears the towels are not returned and people leave the pool area. Perhaps a towel deposit system would alleviate that. The beach is "walkable" but there is a cart that will take you out. If you carry chairs, umbrellas, etc., take the golf cart. Overall a great experience...if were to go again it would be during the week to avoid the pool jam or since the red tide is a toss up now, pick a resort that has multiple pools away from the gulf and be much less expensive. We are currently at the resort and here is what you should know before you consider staying here. Rooms our outdated - you are getting a room from the 90s, not what is expected from a 4 star resort. Not clean - There was a lot of dust and some hair that was not cleaned on the side tables which we’ve had to clean. The carpets look like they haven't been cleaned in a while. The bedding was clean. Tiny bathrooms with rusted tub - the bathrooms are very small, the tub is small rusted and dirty on the bottom. If you are taller than 5'8 you have to duck to wash your hair. Mold on the bathroom ceiling. The AC sounds like a freight train. We've had to turn it off at night to get some sleep. The view - we got a partial golf view, which from the third floor we are staring at a roof from a small balcony. The only way to see the golf is to lean from the balcony. The pool is tiny and very crowded. Rooms get cleaned every 3 days, which is ok but if you are here for a week cleaning it on the day before you check out doesn't make sense. It would make much more sense to do it on the third and fifth day. The beach is nice, you do have to rent chairs and an umbrella, 35/day. There is a short walk to the beach but that wasn't a problem, it's maybe 5 minutes. The golf water s spectacular. Our room is 2 queen beds, and with taxes comes to $475 per night. Our expectation for that price and given the 4 star rating was a lot higher. We have stayed in quite a few hotels and this doesn't fit the price or rating. Don't be fooled by the rating, or the pictures of the resort. You don't get your money's worth. We would not stay here again. Read less
