Rumfish is dated and worn. The hotel and grounds lack good flow and function. For instance, you walk to the Rumfish restaurant through parking garage traffic or backing delivery trucks -- no walkway. The path to beach front is down a dark hall or around the edge of the building on a narrow path between the wall and the fence. Don't forget to… Read more
Rumfish is dated and worn. The hotel and grounds lack good flow and function. For instance, you walk to the Rumfish restaurant through parking garage traffic or backing delivery trucks -- no walkway. The path to beach front is down a dark hall or around the edge of the building on a narrow path between the wall and the fence. Don't forget to figure in the extra $45/day activity fee when you price your room. Read careful what it includes and if you are actually going to use much of it. The things we tend use the most are free at a Holiday Inn Express -- towels, pool, WiFi, movies, exercise room, and such. Mixed experience with the staff. Check-in (late at night) was excellent. Check-out at 8AM was awful --- one person at the desk with a line where some people needed 10 minutes of help and others only a minute. When we tried to ask at the office if we really needed to check-out in person we were barked at to get back in line. How about online check out???? Security theater at the front gate, and the night security officer was 350 pounds in a white shirt with a badge. Mattress was uncomfortable. Sheets rough. Towels excellent. Room furnishings old. Marginally clean -- air vents full of dust, corners full dust, etc. Your typical Holiday Inn Express is 100% better for comfort and the condition of the room. Free generic, unbranded coffee (as part of the $45 daily fee) in your room, or $4.50 coffee in the grill. Cabana's come with the $45 fee, but the online system to reserve them doesn't work so your reservation isn't real. (Cabana staff says it hasn't worked for months.) You must physically present yourself the day before at 2PM to get a cabana. And, cabana's with a view of the water are $15 extra. I won't go back. Not a good value. Failed to meet expectations. St. Pete Beach is great, but it is the same beach no matter which place you stay at. Read less

Resort is just OK, the amenities aren't great and they charged our credit card $759.00 for incidentals and to cover anything we charged to our room. When we booked the reservation we paid in full and was told they would charge a $225.00 resort fee once we checked in. When we booked the reservation we paid in full and was told they would charge a $225.00 resort fee once we checked in. That wasn't a problem, but then at check in they added an extra $534.00 to our credit card and said if we didn't use it, it would be refunded. Thankfully that's not a problem for us, but when we were younger and still had kids at home, that would not have been good. I feel that's something they need to tell you ahead of time. We were also stuck on the elevator....called the emergency button. No urgency at all to get us out. Then when the door finally opened, not even an apology. Rooms are not cleaned very well, and while watching the day shift it doesn't surprise me. The second shift crew seems to really pick up the slack. They won't clean your room until day 4 because they are short staffed. Not a big deal for us and again they are short staffed. Bartenders are not friendly at all. The adult only pool doesn't have a bar. It's by the family pool. Our last day here (a Tuesday) we did have a waiter offer to bring drinks. There was none on the weekend when it was very busy. We will never stay here again. Way too many other choices, with a lot more amenities. Read less

Chris at the front desk immediately welcomed us and found us a great rate for 4 nights. A one bedroom suite with a gulf view. It was beautiful being able to watch the sunset from the balcony. Free cabana on the beach and 2 pools with the option of using amenities at the sister resort down the street. Rooms recently remodeled and everything was clean. All the staff were pleasant. The only disappointment was the pool water was cold (including the hot tub) and the staff did not enforce mask rules. But we will definitely be back. Read less

I called the prettiest property I could find in a city we had never visited for our honeymoon. The salesperson I spoke with promised a beautiful experience and a luxurious room. We discussed the amenities on property and all the restaurants and bars available. I decided to book the best room they could offer to surprise my new husband. We arrived right at check in to find out our room was not ready. The front desk asked us to wait an hour and he would deduct a hundred dollars off our >$600 total and he would call when the room was ready. We were coming for our honeymoon and got the full service sunset jacuzzi with balcony room so we could order room service and watch the sunset. An hour later, the front desk had still not called so we went up to ask. He said it was done. When we reached our room, housekeeping was just leaving. The room was advertised as full kitchenette and jacuzzi tub for 2. The tub was very small. There were what looked like blood drops next to it. The soap was previously used. The room was smaller than an ordinary motel room and the balcony barely held the 2 cheap plastic chairs that were on it. We called to order room service and the front desk informed us that they don't offer it because of Coronavirus. I would have appreciated that being advertised. I got to go to bed hungry and thirsty since it was Sunday and everything closed early. There is no fitted sheet on the bed. Only a mattress pad and flat sheets. I slept horribly on the very firm mattress with no sheets. When we woke, we decided to pack up and leave since we slept so poorly. When we approached the front desk, the clerk proudly announced to us that she could deduct $68 from our invoice because we were overcharged when the reservation was made. When asked about the $100 deduction for having a delayed check in, she informed us that she did not know anything about it. Apparently, the check in clerk never documented our conversation. I wanted a full service resort experience for my honeymoon. I received a cheaply furnished motel comparable room for resort prices. This property is very misrepresented by their advertisements. I feel scammed. Read less

Typical timeshare B.S property. Anything longer than a couple days is more than enough. The script is to get you from the front desk over to the concierge desk to give you your "bracelets". Skip it, no one needed a bracelet or asked. Unplug your room phone upon arrival. Patrick is a great bartender, friendly, a joy to speak with and asset to the resort. I don't get why they have a gated entry with security guard but after 5 the guard goes home and they kick the gate up. This property needs a remodel and is awkward in design. This place will serve a purpose. Our room was clean and bed was comfortable. Good beach access. Read less
