While at Rum Fish Beach Resort we had great service from many but especially Renee and Mike Wilson at the cabana at the beach! He went above and beyond trying to keep us cool and refreshed throughout the blazing hot day! He was fantastic and definitely made us feel special:) Thanks Mike!

My girls had so much fun playing in all the pools, the beach and the waterslide. The activities by the pool at Tradewinds were so much fun for the girls and loved winning the snow cones. The staff is mostly friendly but one man really stood out from the rest, Victor Ortiz at RumFish. We saw him work everyday and we noticed he never stood still. He always had a smile and a hello. One night when the weather would not allow for the smore roast he gave the girls a chocolate bar and he made their evening. Keep up the awesome work Victor and my kids say hi!!! Read less

Honestly! Renee was Very Pleasant and was accommodating in every way. She goes way beyond any other Concierge's I have every worked with! She takes the time to explain in detail the things you would never think to ask! I found myself saying to her...wow, that's great THANKS!!!...Even after the sale, her customer service is a 7star for me!

My husband and I are currently here for a 7 day stay. When we checked in we were hit with a $50 per day “resort fee”. Aside from the beach cabana we have not used any of the amenities listed under this fee, most of which were children’s activities and as a child free couple we wish we could opt out of this exorbitant fee which we were unaware of when we made our reservation. This fee made us less likely to take part in activities such as parasailing and boating which we originally planned to do. Fee aside, each and every restaurant on the resort was crazy over priced. We paid $50 for 2 quesadillas and a beer. At every turn the resort tried to up charge us from drinks to just sitting on the beach where we were hit with a spiel for coming back and vacation club opportunities. The area itself was severely lacking in things to do. No walking around or shopping areas just tons of hotels and restaurants and strip malls. So if the beach and pool get too hot it’s back to the room or ride a trolley to a more interesting area. The room itself was ok but there was no fan in the bathroom, the shower didn’t drain and the bedside lamp didn’t work. For the price the whole experience was very poor. We even remarked how the restaurant and pool at the Howard Johnson next door were way better than the RumFish! Lol. Next time we will do a rental in pass-a-grille for less $$$ more to do and a more beautiful setting. We even told the desk we would never come back when they asked how our stay was, they were unphased. Must hear that a lot! Read less

We stayed two nights at RumFish and left feeling lukewarm about the experience. Pros: - the staff was very friendly, especially at the poolside bar. - the location is great, very central to everything - within walking distance of convenience stores and restaurants - the ability to use the sister property TradeWinds was a plus - the activities here and at TradeWinds were nice for a change from the beach and many are included in the price of the hotel - parking is free - the beds are comfortable and the a/c worked great Cons: - the activities are all geared towards the outdoors...if it rains as it did during our trip, there is nothing much to do. Because you pay for the activities as part of your room fee, if you don’t use them it’s not a great value. - you will receive sales calls before and during your trip about their “vacation program” and this will be offered again at check-in. - there is a coffee bar on the property but it is expensive. A basic latte was $6.50 plus tip and was only filled to 3/4. You can make coffee in the room if you aren’t looking for anything special though. - our room had an area of soaking wet carpet upon arrival that never dried. - there was an emergency evacuation at around 9:30 am one day that affected the entire hotel. The alarms were so loud, especially going down the stairs that my ears were ringing for hours afterwards. All the hotel guests spent about 20 minutes standing outside the hotel but there was not any announcement about what happened. Overall, there were many things this hotel does well but I would consider alternatives. Read less
