The Don Cesar

St Pete Beach, Clearwater and St Pete

The hotel

The stomping ground of celebrities past and present (think F Scott Fitzgerald in earlier years and Justin Timberlake more recently), The Don CeSar Hotel is regarded as Florida’s legendary Pink Palace. Registered with the Historic Hotels of America, it effortlessly blends the Great Gatsby era of pampering with modern European grandeur. Picture-perfect in every way, the beach is a wonderful place to relax or indulge in a variety of exciting water sports – kite surfing anyone? There are also 2 beautifully furnished beachfront swimming pools to take advantage of, so grab a good book and some sun cream and enjoy! Whilst you’re busy, chilling out or enjoying a pampering session at the spa perhaps, the kids will be having at ball at Camp Cesar. Enjoy the family-friendly touches – there are kid’s menus and even a cupboard full of toys to play with! Even a dedicated retail shop carrying all the essentials to keep kids and teens happy and active. At Camp Cesar, however, they’ll have the time of their lives, participating in beach crafts, seashell hunting, castle contests and pool games. Dine around The Don at one of our many restaurants or lounges. Enjoy dining al fresco for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner at Sea Porch, experience an exquisite evening at Maritana Grille, or take in the stunning sunset views with coastal cuisine and cool cocktails at Rowe Bar.

We stayed at the Don CeSar due to an unexpected flight cancellation due to COVID19.... needless to say we will be heading back! The hotel is BY FAR the best in St petes and is almost like stepping onto a film set. We stayed during a strange time as the area was put into lock down yet the hotel still managed to cultivate its amazing atmosphere. The hotel manager, Jackson, was just wonderful and you could tell how much he cared for his hotel and the guests. He was there In his suit in 30 degrees c and was cleaning door handles himself and checking on guests. We were travelling with our 8 month old baby and all of the staff did all they could to make our stay most enjoyable. Second thanks to Rebecca in the spa who was just the most lovely and welcoming spa therapist. We will definitely be heading back , I virtually cried as we left!!! Read less

I actually had a good stay however when leaving my car had damage on the front end. Their security person wrote up a report and told me I would be contacted within three business days. That was the 12th and I have not heard from anyone. I have called the claim person and left half a dozen messages with no response. Nice hotel but zero regard for… Read more

The hotel is stunning, the architecture, the pink color, the palm trees, the location on the beach. They had two nice pool options, a big hot tub, and chairs on the beach that we could watch the sunset every nite! We had breakfast in the hotel every morning which was lovely. The lobby bar was fun, Mikey the bartender was AMAZING! She was my favorite part of the trip, she was so nice, along with the other staff. Only reason I didn't give five stars was that we kept running into one person on the bell staff that wasn't helpful, didn't take our luggage or hold the door open when we brought our own luggage in to check in. Everyone else was super nice. Our room was also very small, understand with it being an old hotel. The bathroom was so small that my knees literally hit the bathtub when I sat on the toilet, b/c I am six foot tall. I had to turn sideways, so that was less than desirable. Glad I got to experience this hotel. Read less

We’ve been visiting the Don CeSar for fifteen plus years. It is the perfect blend of luxury and coziness. Not too formal but not too casual. The staff have always been accommodating, funny and sincere. The food’s excellent and the rooms plush and quiet. We feel right at home!
