The Don Cesar

St Pete Beach, Clearwater and St Pete

The hotel

The stomping ground of celebrities past and present (think F Scott Fitzgerald in earlier years and Justin Timberlake more recently), The Don CeSar Hotel is regarded as Florida’s legendary Pink Palace. Registered with the Historic Hotels of America, it effortlessly blends the Great Gatsby era of pampering with modern European grandeur. Picture-perfect in every way, the beach is a wonderful place to relax or indulge in a variety of exciting water sports – kite surfing anyone? There are also 2 beautifully furnished beachfront swimming pools to take advantage of, so grab a good book and some sun cream and enjoy! Whilst you’re busy, chilling out or enjoying a pampering session at the spa perhaps, the kids will be having at ball at Camp Cesar. Enjoy the family-friendly touches – there are kid’s menus and even a cupboard full of toys to play with! Even a dedicated retail shop carrying all the essentials to keep kids and teens happy and active. At Camp Cesar, however, they’ll have the time of their lives, participating in beach crafts, seashell hunting, castle contests and pool games. Dine around The Don at one of our many restaurants or lounges. Enjoy dining al fresco for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner at Sea Porch, experience an exquisite evening at Maritana Grille, or take in the stunning sunset views with coastal cuisine and cool cocktails at Rowe Bar.

Room was decent. Staff was always in a rush and not always pleasant or helpful to guests who weren’t part of one of the weddings that were going on. Service at the restaurant was horrible and staff was rude.

Only in Florida can you find the "Pink Palace" Don't come here is you are looking for an ultra modern hotel, it was built in 1928, it's packed with history and charm. The Don CeSar is know by names, "The Don", "The Pink Palace", directly facing the Gulf of Mexico. I had good poolside service for food and drinks, try the fish taco's. Just be… Read more

They wanted to charge $5 for charging my Tesla after paying $600 for room and $30 for valet. It would require me to walk down the steep steps in heels to use my credit card to pay the $5 at the charging station after valet! They said it was due to 3rd party vendor charging system. Why not just include it in cost and have valet hook it up?! Also… Read more

We were here on an anniversary trip and we sure picked the wrong place to stay at. This hotel boasts to be 4 stars but the only thing holding it it’s is history. And that is also it’s downfall. Hotel is very old and outdated. We got there and found the room dirty with hairs all over the bathroom and make up stains on the towels. We were changed to a different room, and again the same conditions or worse. They charge for resort fees and when we got to the beach at roughly 9 am there were at least 6 attendees hanging out in the shack and no one came to help us set up by the beach. All the lounge chairs were soaked, no towels to be found, and I won’t even get started on the pool. Stay somewhere else! Read less
