Great family holiday in the lovely new hotel in the Jebel Ali resort. Great service and we especially loved the pool area and service. Big shout out for Sam and Ruwan who looked after us so well. The kids loved it! We are gutted to be leaving!

I am very disappointed to have to write this review having visited the resort many times over the last ten years. As a group we meet up with friends in Dubai and have been doing this for over twenty years. Having previously stayed at the Palm Tree Court which in the past has been truly magnificent we decided to try the Lake View Hotel. As numerous guests have reported the issues with the cricket teams staying I would just like to summarise the issues. Too many restaurant closures Kinara Shooters Buffet in Jebel Ali Roof top bar at Lake View Divas Anchor Bar Swimming pool for adults in Lake View closed General Service Buffet for breakfast in 81 was chaotic - hit or miss whether you got coffee ( too many inexperienced staff and lack of management ) Sports Bar - orders always wrong . Long wait for drinks and food . Drunks shouting and swearing and playing their own music. When we complained to the manager he said this was now allowed in Dubai !! Appalled to say the least as children and infants in proximity to this. Spanish restaurant - what can I say ! Total shambles . Staff clueless and food coming out at different times. Just awful. However beach bar excellent and Kusch looked after us really well. Was such a relief to find a staff member that knew what they were doing. Likewise the sunbed team were fantastic. White Orchid we still found to be excellent. Buggy drivers were great and the regularity of service did improve but they are clearly struggling due to the amount of closed restaurants and facilities. COVID Although there are clear instructions regarding mask wearing around the hotel this is not being monitored and many guests are just not complying. On several occasions we actually had to go to reception and complain as groups of Russians and younger Brits were trying to enter the lift with us. Total complacency from reception staff. The complete opposite to out and about in Dubai where absolutely everyone is complying with the rules. It is interesting to note that on Trip Adviser positive reviews are being responded to by management but negative reviews are being ignored and the majority of these are coming from guests who have visited the hotel in the past. So disappointed with the resort and can’t believe how it has changed. Due to not being able to travel we extended our holiday to 21 nights and although as a group we still had a wonderful holiday we will not be returning to the hotel until the reviews reflect that changes have been made for the better. Stayed one night on 5th October at Lake View. It was our first visit. So disappointing as part of hotel had been privately booked by cricket teams. We were given no advance warning of this. At check in we were told adult pool not available and restaurant we had selected (Indian Kinara) closed to guests due to private booking. Gym also not available and my husband was told to use gym at golf club - inconvenient and a very tired space. All this was not what we had paid for but no apology or discount was offered. We note several other reviewers have had same experience and that no one has addressed the issues. Doubtful we will return and would not recommend to others. We understand cricket teams will be there for duration of World Cup. Be warned. Read less
