Jumeirah Emirates Towers

Dubai City, Dubai Beaches and beyond

The hotel

One of Dubai's most stunning buildings (which is saying something as this city has so many stunning buildings!), the Jumeirah Emirates Towers is a great value hotel that redefines luxury. State-of-the-art facilities match state-of-the-art rooms, all of which boast floor-to-ceiling windows and sweeping panoramic views of the Palace stables. Lined by walkways to The Boulevard, discover air-conditioned sky-lit courtyards, myriad boutiques and numerous restaurants. The hotel has its own restaurants too: Alta Badia, serving Northern Italian cuisine that is second to none. For something a little more laid back, The Noodle House is ideal for catching up with family and friends over favourite noodle dishes. Aside from eats and drinks (cocktails on the 51st floor are a must for more gorgeous views), the hotel also offers a world-class spa, fitness centre and gorgeous swimming pool to laze by. In the heart of Dubai, this is a great base to explore the city and offers daily complimentary access to Wild Wadi Waterpark™ – something kids of all ages will love!

It is, of course, international and cosmopolitan, far more generous than any luxury hotel in Europe pretends to be. Visible, for example, by the fact that there are actually smoking floors. With such an outstanding air conditioner at work, (one must not forget that in such dizzy heights no window can be opened) that when entering the room no second could be suspected that here had ever been smoked. And it even manages to do that without loud noises. Surrounded by precious, puristic design we sit down on an original Bauhaus Eames Chair, behind us in powdery beige dipped skyscrapers, the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows on toy-sized cars conveys: We are on the 44th floor. Which only enhances our sense of freedom. We slip onto the stylish bed of our junior suite. Equipped with the most expensive mattresses, dressed in the finest sheets. And could well spend a few days in "our apartment", if there would not be the "rib room". One of six mutually exclusive restaurants of the elegant tower, where glass elevators take you to the 44th floor in seconds. A medium-rare fried steak with green asparagus and a truffle jus of the highest quality, the meat so delicate that it turns our heads, the asparagus à point, the Jus a sensual dream. The Rib Room reveals itself down-to-earth on the ground floor, the way there is a daydream bathed in black marble. The restaurant has heavy, dark wood paneling, brown leather armchairs and niches that give rise to a Hollywood vibe of big, significant films. Just around the corner: the pool. The real sensation in the center of Dubai, framed by impressive skyscrapers, it attracts with hours of sunshine and turquoise water. Or, as in our case, with a sunset that God himself must have chosen for the day. Then a sparkling starry sky, a cold beer in the Rib Room Bar, with the lift in two seconds to the 44th floor. Well - we managed to leave the palace tower in only two days for a maximum of two hours souk visit. A little sandalwood and a few spices had to be. But not more. We did not want to waste a second of our time in this dreamlike suite. But you certainly understand that. Read less
