Image of the Tripadvisor rating Excellent Hotel with amazing view to marina

I really liked that there is an outdoor heated pool with a view of the marina. The hotel has a kosher bar and restaurant, parking for hotel guests. We received courteous treatment, excellent breakfast and stunning views. Thank you!

Having been to several Ritz-Carlton properties over the years, I constantly kept asking myself how this rather subdued and small hotel managed to convince the powers that be to be bestowed with the hallowed name. Across the board, the hotel is not up to the brand snuff. To start, the lobby is tiny and feels cramped. The service in the lobby bar is haphazard and slow and the selection is truly limited and printed on a piece of paper. The location, while great overall, has the luxury hotel ($750/night normally) situated on top of a boarded up dump of a has-been mall, half empty. There is no beach but a marina - lovely but a schlep of a walk to where you can actually bathe. The hotel pool, at the rooftop - is petite and reminds one of a cruise ship-sized pool. The bar at the pool closes pretty early and unlike the Ritz ultimate service quality, the staff is generally ok telling you to go away. (Is that a Ritz? one asks). On to the rooms: The view is pretty great as all rooms face the ocean. The balconies are serviceable and fun to sit on. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, with a giant bathroom offering high quality products. But then, you are struck by the fact that the toilet stall and shower stall are TINY. With the doors opening into the stall, you find yourself twisting (and I am not portly) in order to access the toilet or take a shower; even starting the shower to let the hot water run ends up giving you a cold shower for trying. As a business visit, the desk and chair are quite comfortable and again - a shortcoming: There is no power outlet available if you want to use the desk light. That's it. And again you scratch your head and ask - is this a RITZ? The hotel's restaurant is pretty darn average; the breakfast choices are decent but nothing is great. The coffee comes from an automated machine. No Barista or attempt to level up. So there you have it: event as a Marriott, this hotel will be just OK. There is no great service, no great facilities, and nothing to make you think - WOW, this was worth it. There are other choices that give you as good anything - and I would recommend the Dan Acadia nearby for real class. This is just a plain hotel pretending to be excellent. It's very much 'just good'. This is not a Ritz by any scale and an embarassment to the marque . Read less

I asked the concierge every evening (sometimes twice the evening) to low down the speaker volume, which unfortunately hasn’t happened, at least I haven’t heard any difference. If you can, ask for a room without a speaker in front of your room. Read less

My partner and I recently stayed at this lovely hotel for four nights … we were expecting five star luxury and that’s exactly what we got! Our room was spacious and modern with a superking bed , the bathroom was long and narrow but had a huge bathtub, two sinks, a big walk in shower and a separate toilet. The balcony was big with a partial view of the sea. The staff is excellent - they couldn’t have been friendlier or any more helpful to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had a really good breakfast each morning and again the staff was superb. The only other meal we had at the hotel was in the lobby area late when we arrived .. the goujons and chips were absolutely gorgeous; one portion would be enough for two people - it was all piping hot and obviously had been freshly made -.we were very impressed. We’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a great five-star property with service to match. Read less
